Erika did a great job with our 7 cats! We have two seniors and three that need daily meds, including insulin, and Erika handled it all with ease. We also have a cat who is terrified of everyone, but she let Erika pet het! AMAZING! The cats were happy when we came home, which makes us happy!

Christy was GRRRREAT! In addition to unabashedly doting on Filbert and taking him for a walk (which, as she knew, was at her own peril as he's leash-reactive) she helped me navigate Rover's byzantine scheduling interface and obtained a refund for me after even Rover's "Help" support messed up the visit. (Apparently they also struggle w/ the system!) All-in-all, I'm not sure who enjoyed who's company more, but I could definitely tell our Filbert was sorry to see her go and we're both looking forward to Christy's next visit.

Russell was absolutely wonderful with our girl, Moose! From the beginning, we felt completely comfortable leaving her in his care. He was kind, attentive, dependable, and clearly has a love for dogs. Russell took Moose on walks and sent us photos and updates while we were away, which we really appreciated. Seeing her happy and comfortable gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our time away without worrying. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for Moose! We would absolutely trust Russell with her again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone who will genuinely care for their dog like their own.

About: I moved from Mi to Wa in 2015 and decided in 2018 to be a dog walker. That was in King county and after moving to a house in 2021, dog boarding turned into my new side job. Last year I also enrolled in Victoria Stilwell’s Academy for positive training. So I am very aware of dog’s body language and needs. I absolutely love dogs and they are truly my life now but when I was 8 that wasn’t the case. I was bit in the face by a family friend’s dog. He was old and on medication, I startled him awake which led to him biting me. From this incident, I watched Victoria Stilwell on animal planet to get over my fear of bigger dogs and here I am today with a certification in dog training and starting my career with human’s best friend. My goal is for you and your dog to be as comfortable as possible. I only treat dogs/pets as I would want someone to treat mine (and believe me I am a high maintenance pet mom 😉) Dogs are my job. Whether it is boarding, sitting, or walking; this is what I do full time. Sometimes I do Instacart to get out a bit but will do that when my boyfriend is home. I am starting up my bath bomb business again so to have a companion working alongside with me is my ideal work day. My boyfriend works from home majority of the time, so there is always someone home. His kids do come over 50% of the week and are very kind and helpful with dogs that are boarding with me. They are 12 and 11 so they aren’t little kids. I have lick mats, Kong Gyro, and plenty of space for your dog to have fun at my house. My house is fenced in, we are updating the property all the time to make sure it is safe as possible. For larger dogs, I have a bell on a ziptie to put on your dog’s collar just so I can hear where they are at all times when I am outside with them. For smaller pups, I always go outside with them due to being in an open area so they are safe. I also have a 30’ leash that I can hook them to for extra safety. Inside, I make them as comfortable as possible. Whatever they like at home I try my best to provide at my house.

About: I have about 10 years of experience in veterinary medicine. I worked in rescue for 2 years, then general practice for just over 6 years, and have been working in a mobile oncology clinic for the last 2 years. Any medications or special treatments needed are no problem for me. I have provided pet sitting services many times throughout the last 10 years and even prior to working in the veterinary industry I enjoyed helping people care for their animals while out of town for various lengths of time. I currently work 3 days a week in person in oncology and 1 day a week remote. My oncology days vary in hours but typically I start at 7:30am and am done most days before 4:00pm. I have no problem with crating or utilizing any special barriers or set up required to keep your pet safe in your house. I have a specific routine and set up that works for my dog in my own home, so I understand that every pet is a little different and unique.

We had to book last minute travel due to a family emergency, and Maria was able to accommodate us on short notice. Communication was great, and she was flexible with our needs and updates. Our Maltese, Marley, doesn’t do well with other dogs, so boarding would have been extra stressful. We really appreciated being able to schedule three drop-in visits per day. Thanks for taking care of our fur babies while we were away!

About: **I do rover in Gig Harbor and Austin, depending where I’m at (WFH perk!)** Dogs have been a huge part of my life for over 12 years. I have cared for two wonderful dogs of my own—a small dog named Gunner and a Chocolate Lab named Jeter—which has given me experience with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. Through caring for my own pets, I’ve become comfortable with daily walks, feeding schedules, administering basic medications, playtime, grooming, and providing lots of love and attention. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your furry family member. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while you’re away. I work from home full-time, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs playtime, walks, potty breaks, medication, or simply someone nearby to keep them company, I can be there. For house sitting, I can bring my work setup with me so your pet can stay comfortable in their familiar environment while still receiving lots of love and attention. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. Because I work from home, I’m able to spend more quality time with pets throughout the day, providing regular walks, playtime, cuddles, potty breaks, and plenty of supervision. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and needs so they can feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away. Whether your pet is energetic and loves adventure or prefers a calm companion to relax with, I’ll make sure they receive attentive, loving care and lots of affection. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.

About: I've taken care of many of my friends pets, dogs and cats when they are away. I absolutely love doing it! Pets are part of the family! I am currently working part time doing instacart so I am on the road and can stop whenever I need to let them out or take them on a walk. I am also starting school this summer so I will be available after classes as well. I usually stay over at my friend's house whenever they are gone to watch their fur babies. So they feel comfortable and safe in there own space.

About: An experienced and professional petsitter who has previously worked for On Paws Professional Pet Services in San Marcos, Texas. I have also grown up with two dogs, a hamster, and two birds, who have since passed. My roommates' animals have felt like family to me, and treated as such. Since living on my own I’ve had my own cat, Umami who was the cutest character and wild child that I loved so dearly! I've also cared for a couple of porch kitties and fostered a dog who found her furever home too. ^.^ I would love to keep your pet company (and vise versa!) I’m currently only working remotely part-time, so I have some wiggle room to care for your pet(s)! I would be able to feed, play, and walk, and possibly stay with them during my time off! I would definitely treat them as my own, and try to make them as happy and comfortable as possible, while making sure their needs are met. I like to know their daily routines so I can try to stick to them as closely as possible.

Here’s a polished Rover review you can use: --- **Review for Rhonda** I cannot recommend Rhonda enough! This was my first time leaving my cat alone, and I had a lot of anxiety about it — but Rhonda was incredibly attentive and reassuring from start to finish. She made sure he had everything he needed, took the time to play with him, and sent lots of photos that really put me at ease. I truly appreciated the care, patience, and attention she gave him. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

We were lucky to get Noelle to take care of our two cats while we were away for Thanksgiving! She followed our instructions to a T - came in the right time window, made sure they were both OK, sending us pictures while we were gone, etc. She even managed to track down our elusive shy kitten for pictures. A+, would book again! Thanks Noelle!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fox Island. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
