About: I’ve always grown up with lots of pets, and currently my family includes 5 pugs. I have experience with very large dogs, small dogs, newborn puppies, and elderly dogs. I love walking dogs and can take them out for as long or short of a walk as they need. I also have experience giving them medications including pills, ointments, and eye drops. I am not working a full-time job until the beginning of the school year, so I will have a lot of time and flexibility to do dog walking and drop-in visits in Tacoma every day of the week. I can take dogs on long or short walks, depending on their age and what they can handle while paying attention to how the warmer weather might affect them. I can also do check-ins to feed and play with your dog or cat, making sure to give them plenty of attention and care.
“Rachel was great! She was on time, very communicative and sent terrific pics of the pups!! I will definitely book with her again and I highly recommend her! Thanks Rachel!”

“Hank and Frank always have a great time with Nathan! I can tell Hank feels like a cool guy to be "one of the guys" lol. Nathan always takes them on a long loop, which is great to push these loafs!”

“Met Elizabeth for a meet and greet for more frequent walks while I’m at work. She was super punctual and sweet with my little Koda. She asked a lot of questions to make sure she could provide Koda with the best walk possible. I look forward to working more with her!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats my entire life! From Boston terriers to Doodles to Rottweilers, I love dogs of all sizes and energy levels! I’m also a big cat fanatic and would love to take care of some feline friends. Whether I’m taking your pooch for a walk in the great outdoors, or spending quality time with them in the backyard - I will make sure your furry loved ones get the care they deserve. I am a full time student that is taking the entire summer off! I will be available all hours of the day, almost every day from June 9th to September 25th. Like a helicopter paw-rent, I’ll keep an eagle’s eye on your pets to make sure they don’t get in any trouble. All of my time and attention will focus on your pets, and I will always put their safety first whether outside or in your own home.
About: Hello, I’m Alisha! I truly believe I have the best job in the world. Dogs have always been a part of my life, and I feel lucky to spend my days caring for them. I have decades of experience with dog sitting, boarding, and walking, as well as experience with a wide variety of breeds, personalities, and energy levels. Pet care is my full-time focus, which means I have a flexible schedule and can provide dependable, attentive care for your furry family members. During our time together, your dog will be treated like one of my own—with plenty of love, patience, exercise, enrichment, and personalized attention. Every day is tailored to the needs of the dogs in my care. Depending on the schedule, we may enjoy pack walks, solo adventures, enrichment sniffaris, park visits, or relaxing time at home. I balance exercise, mental stimulation, rest, and plenty of affection to ensure each dog has a safe, fun, and enriching experience. Safety is my top priority. I carefully supervise all pets, use secure leashes and harnesses, follow feeding and medication instructions exactly, and maintain a clean, pet-friendly environment. I always respect clients’ homes, keep doors and gates secure, and provide regular updates for peace of mind.
“Arianna is a trustworthy and excellent person. My pooch loves her and she is flexible, responsible, and responds well. She is now dooing weekly with me! Thanks!”

“Lydia has been a wonderful addition to my dog walking team. She’s responsive to messages, flexible with individual needs, and dependable with care. She sends quality pictures and updates so I know how the walks went and how my pups are doing during her care. If she has questions or concerns during her time with the dogs she addresses them promptly and respectfully. I can trust no issue or concern will go unnoticed or unreported. I appreciate having Lydia as a trusted member of my team and can count on my dogs being well cared for and loved on while I am away.”

“Mollie's been walking my two dogs twice a week for a couple of weeks now, and it's been great! She was very thoughtful in the initial meeting and follow up, making sure she knew what the discipline and activity goals are for each of them. The girls are calmer when I get home at night and it's a lot of peace of mind knowing how well they're taken care of by her. Highly recommend.”
About: I’ve been a dog lover my entire life and treat them like I do my children! They are in great hands with me! Animal Activist here! I’m retired and thus I would be exactly what I want to do now that I’m free to. At this time I have no pets so this would be wonderful! I’m all about safety with pets and they are treated like my children. I do not have a fenced yard so in my home they would no go out unless on leash.
“Thank you for your continued amazing work with my Stella girl! We are both so grateful to you! You are always so accommodating and communicative, I appreciate you so much 🥹❤️”

“Kaylee is amazing with our pup! I can tell she treats and cares for him like he’s her own. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take care of their doggos:)”

“Erica has been walking our pups for almost a year. She has always been available, always been punctual, and has always been a great communicator. Our dogs love her and are always excited to see her. Even our one dog who was abused and doesn't like most people took to her right away. Rest assured when you choose Erica your pets are in great hands. Thank-you for always taking such good care of our pups!”

“Autumn was very sweet when she came to pick Sadie, my Aussie Vizsla mix up from her walk. Sadie is my most energetic and driven dog out of my 4 dogs. She came back well exercised and ready for her training session. Not only was Autumn great, Sadie Loved her two kids too! They were very respectful of Sadie and knew how to interact and listen to the direction of their mom, Autumn very well! I am usually very picky with who cares for Sadie specifically because she is a very high strung dog and her craziness is usually comparable to a Belgian Malinois where she never has a chill switch. Autumn handled her very well! I definitely recommend her for your pet care needs!”

“Blaire was great and we would definitely recommend her. One of our little dogs sometimes decides she won’t walk for a stranger but she still managed to get her and our puppy out! Really appreciate your patience.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats since I was a kid, have several cats at my home in West Tacoma, and love spending time with dogs of friends and family. I live in West Tacoma and have availability weekdays and weekends in mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Open for mid-day visits and walks, short or long term sitting, and more. I have cats in my home (and sometimes foster kittens) so I’m very familiar with helping cats get comfortable in new spaces or around me for the first time. Careful around open doors, clean and tidy, and respectful of your space!
“Nisa is terrific with my stubborn dog and manages to take him on some good long walks. She's punctual and reliable. It gives me peace of mind knowing my dog is getting his afternoon walk.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ruston
Keri was quick to take a last minute job and was super flexible with her schedule to fit in a walk with my dog. She took lots of cute pictures, was responsive, and punctual. We greatly appreciate Keri and will definitely be rebooking as my dog seemed super happy and relaxed when we got home.

Ethan did an excellent job walking and caring for our large, reactive dog. It was clear that he felt very comfortable handling challenging dogs, and after meeting him we felt good about leaving our dog in his care. The pictures and updates he shared after his walks reinforced this--our dog looked so happy with him! He was also extremely communicative and professional, which we appreciated. We feel very lucky to have found him and will absolutely use him for our future pet care needs.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
