About: (Just to clarify that headline is from Frozen.) I'm a former dog owner and I loved my elderly dog till she passed. I've also pet sat for multiple families over the last five years. I'm familiar with high anxiety dogs, dogs with diet restrictions, I've house sat for multiple dogs and cats. I also recently helped feed and home a stray mama cat and her kittens over the summer. I approach with calm, confidence and joy. Its important to me that when I first meet an animal, the critter feels safe to approach me in their own time. Some animals can be anxious so I try not to be over stimulating. I'm a care provider to a cherished family member, so I have flexibility through out the week to care for animals when I'm not with that person. My dog of ten years that passed had a special diet for a sensitive stomache, I had to wash her bedding more often. Even though she was a small breed I still took her on walks. As she entered her golden years I frequently took care of accidents, put her in diapers, took her to the doctors for her stomach and her anxiety. Gave her medicine to ease her ailments. I do the same for the animals in my care, make sure they are loved and cared for the way their per parents outline for me. Down to walks, play time and special food requirements. Our fur buddies deserve care for the unconditional love they give us.
About: I have dog sat many dogs and they grow on me. I get to know dogs and meet them where they are. Animals complete me, I have been able to heal in my past with the help of dogs. Cancer has been a battle of mine, service dogs, as well as exercise dogs helped me through my chemotherapy process, and recovery. I don't know what I would do without my dogs. I have had guard dogs as well and they are to most loving and protective creatures I have ever known. I am currently transitioning back into working, after 3 years of bed rest. I am in remission and I wish I could be around the dogs. I usually read closely the instructions given by the owners of each client. I try my best to gain as much information so that the client feels comfortable with me, as they would their own parents. Most dogs I have taken care of will have a period of anxiety, and so I make sure to create the most comfortable environment for them.
About: My preferred name is Theo. Ive taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. Dogs love me and I love doing everything with them. There’s nothing better than watching a dog enjoy its life. I currently am available at any time. So after I get my dog set for the day I’d go and check on any other dogs that need me. Take them out for a walk and play with them or get them settled back at home. I I currently live in an apartment but I always take dogs out on a leash unless the yard is fenced. And I have a dog first aid kit in my car always.
“Rachel was great with my pup's walk! Also was super about communicating with me when we had to troubleshoot my front door lock. Happy to rebook and recommend to anyone!”

About: I've been a cat mom and dog friend since I can remember. My cat in college used to walk me to class, wait for me, then walk me home. She even walked - no leash - into the ice cream shop with me! Since I didn't have a dog, my neighbors would let me take theirs for walks and playtime. I was having so much fun I didn't realize I was helping them out. There's a lot of joy in those little bodies! I work from home and am very flexible. I can drop in mornings, afternoons, and even midday. Weekends are completely free. I look forward to the little breaks in routine that the cats and dogs give! I'm responsible, punctual, communicative, respectful of your space, and most importantly - ready and eager to come play with your fuzz nuggets. I will maintain a safe, clean, fun, and loving environment while you are away, to give you and your furry family members both peace of mind.
“Keri is so awesome. I feel so safe having her with my pups. I can tell she truly loves animals/ goes above and beyond. Very grateful for her help during a time I had to be away from home.”

“Nisa is terrific with my stubborn dog and manages to take him on some good long walks. She's punctual and reliable. It gives me peace of mind knowing my dog is getting his afternoon walk.”

“Chandra is AMAZING!!!!!! She did a meet and greet with me and Oakley. She provided so much information and made sure I felt comfortable. She allowed me to ask any question and was so helpful. We had our first official dog walk yesterday and it went great. Oakley adores her. She kept me posted and sent photos of Oakley on their walk. I’m so glad we found her.”

About: I’ve always grown up with lots of pets, and currently my family includes 5 pugs. I have experience with very large dogs, small dogs, newborn puppies, and elderly dogs. I love walking dogs and can take them out for as long or short of a walk as they need. I also have experience giving them medications including pills, ointments, and eye drops. I am not working a full-time job until the beginning of the school year, so I will have a lot of time and flexibility to do dog walking and drop-in visits in Tacoma every day of the week. I can take dogs on long or short walks, depending on their age and what they can handle while paying attention to how the warmer weather might affect them. I can also do check-ins to feed and play with your dog or cat, making sure to give them plenty of attention and care.
“Nathan was responsive, friendly and flexible when it came to taking care of Lucy. Followed directions very well and provided updates on the walk. Highly recommended and I will gladly use his services again.”

Jordan was absolutely amazing! They took great care of my dogs and kept me updated with photos and messages throughout their stay. It gave me peace of mind knowing my pets were in such caring and capable hands. Jordan was reliable, professional, and clearly loves animals. I came home to happy, well-cared-for dogs, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Jordan again. Highly recommend!

Shania has been really, really amazing with Milton and his struggles with PTSD and anxiety. She is patient, compassionate, and incredibly attentive. Shania took the time to build trust and make Milt feel safe. Her care has made a really big difference, and we just can’t recommend her enough.

Van is my dogs favorite person!! They have put in the time and effort to get to know his personality and make him feel special and cared for. He can be difficult at times and Van has been excellent at communicating and working through those moments with us. Not to mention the best dog photographer in town! 10/10 recommend booking Savannah to care for your pet

Reese was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Casper! She is very communicative and even sent cute pics of him on the walk. Casper is a rescue so he can be a bit anxious with new people, but he warmed up to her right away! Highly recommend and we will be booking again soon!
Chris was great! He was super prompt in responding, ready next day to walk Kain and did very well with him. Being that Kain is 180lbs it can be intimidating but Chris really made himself feel like they had been buddies for years. They went on a long 3 mile walk/jog so Kain was plenty tired! We will certainly use Chris' service again and would highly recommend!
This was my first time using the dog walker service. Priscilla put my worries at ease and treated my pup with so much love. Great communication about timing and offered to spend some time playing with him since that seemed to be what he needed. Will definitely book again if needed!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
