About: With years of experience as an overnight dog and cat hotel specialist, I’ve cared for pets while their families were on vacation, ensuring they were comfortable, safe, and happy throughout the night. I’ve worked with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments, from playful puppies to older, more reserved pets. I also have two fur babies of my own; adachshund and a husky-who I love more than anything. Having had pets my whole life, I understand the importance of attentive, loving care and treat every pet as if they were my own. I work weekdays from 8 to 4, but I’m always available for house sitting and evening shifts to make sure your pets are well taken care of. I love starting the day with morning walks and playtime before work, and I’m happy to spend time with them after work and before bedtime, giving them all the attention they need. Plus, I'm free on weekends to provide extra love and care whenever you need it. Your pets are my priority, and I’ll always treat them with the same warmth and affection as I do my own! I completely respect the rules of your fur babies' home and will follow them closely to ensure they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. Whether it’s keeping them on a specific routine, following feeding schedules, or sticking to their favorite playtime activities, I’ll make sure everything is just the way they’re used to. Your pets will be loved, cared for, and well taken care of, just as if you were there!
“Katey was great with my cat Douglas Fur! He took to her right away and now they are fast friends. She was prompt, kind, attentive and easy to work with. I will definitely be using Katey to take good care of Doug in the future!”
“Stephanie once again took extraordinary care of our dogs and cat for drop-in visits when I had a last minute request because of having to serve as a juror on a trial while my husband was traveling. She is fantastic and our animals love her!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets ever since I was 10. I currently am blessed with caring for my 4-legged son, Moose. Experienced with big and small dogs. I’m available all day on Tuesdays, saturdays, and sundays. I’m available after 6:30p on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays. I would be happy to set up a regular schedule as well. I have a fenced yard with a little room to run. I take care of my golden mix, Moose. I love spending time outside with moose going to parks and going on hikes or just walking through neighborhoods.
About: I’ve grown up with pets my entire life—dogs, cats, and even small animals—so providing loving care for animals is second nature to me. I began pet and house sitting through Rover in the summer of 2025, and I bring a lifetime of experience as a responsible and compassionate caregiver. As a seasoned educator, I’m deeply attuned to the needs of others—both human and animal! I know how to create calm, safe, and nurturing environments, and I approach each pet with patience, kindness, and respect for their unique personalities and routines. I’m especially mindful of the trust it takes to welcome someone into your home and care for your pets. I bring that responsibility seriously and with gratitude. Whether your pets need a cozy companion, a gentle walk, or a calm presence while you’re away, I’m here to help them feel loved and secure. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, which means your pets will get plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. My meetings are all virtual and can be scheduled around the needs of your pets and home. I also don’t have small children, so I’m able to keep a calm and focused environment that’s ideal for pets who need consistency, affection, or extra care. Whether it’s regular walks, playtime, or simply being a steady presence, I’m available and attentive to your pet’s routine. When caring for pets in their own home, I prioritize creating a safe, peaceful, and familiar environment where they can feel comfortable and secure. I know how important it is for pets to stay in their routine, especially while you're away, so I do my best to follow your instructions closely and treat your space with the utmost respect. I take time to build trust with each animal, moving at their pace and tuning into their needs—whether that’s extra playtime, a quiet companion, or lots of snuggles. I also keep in regular communication with you, so you can feel confident that your home and beloved pets are in good hands. Your pets’ safety and well-being are my top priorities, and I’m honored to provide dependable care in the place they know best—home.

About: Nice to meet you! I've owned, fostered, and babysat numerous animals, from dogs to cats to reptiles and bugs. I have previous experience house sitting for family and teachers. Besides this, I volunteer at the maternity ward, babysit, and enjoy drawing! I can handle both the high and low maintenance needs of your pets, and am available for all special needs. I am currently a pre-med student at the University of Puget Sound, and as such most of my later day will be free- as well as all time on weekends. I wake up at about 8 am on most days, and am open to waking up periodically throughout the night incase of animal care needs. I cannot not take any pet home, as Inlive in a dorm- but I am agile and capable to do animal upkeep, clean messes, and meet your pet's needs within your house or outside. I prefer to work with smaller animals, as I have no trouble crating, carrying, clothing, or otherwise managing those sizes, as well as personal preference! I have experience caring for senior and special needs pets, and am fully welcoming to a customizable care plan or schedule!
“We have used Soleil multiple times for drop-in visits with our cat while we’re on vacation. She is sweet, communicative, and reliable! Highly recommend!”

About: I had 4 dogs growing up and my parents always had me on a tight schedule with taking care of them. I fed them every morning at 6AM or 10AM and at 5-6PM every night. I also walked them and cleaned their messed when needed, and finally i never let their water bowl go dry. I love dogs and when I’m around them long enough they’ll love me. I will have plenty of time to take care of pets during the week. Im currently trying to make any extra cash I can right now. Which ever way a dog has to he taken care of I can do it. Each of my dogs growing up had different food and ways they needed to eat so I always took care of that
About: Hello! My name is Destiny and I am a Tacoma local. My previous experience pet sitting includes time with dogs and cats. My first experience taking care of pets was in a long-term care situation, which required medication administration, walks, playtime, and potty cleanups. I am the owner of a sweet elder tuxedo kitty. I would love a dog of my own, but Mister Mistoffelees and apartment living does not allow it. So taking care of someone else's dogs seems like the next best thing! Looking forward to walks and playtime! I currently work from home so my schedule is somewhat flexible. Depending on what the arrangements are I can take doggos out for walks 1-2x throughout the day and am completely free after work at 5 pm. Flexible if communicated ahead of time and willing to meet beforehand to discuss pets needs. I don't offer boarding in my home as I live in a small apartment with a cat. More than happy to meet at clients home to play outside or inside, depending on levels of trust.

About: I enjoy taking my pup on long walks and would love for yours to tag along. Physical health for both myself and my pup is important and I would like to provide that care to you for your pup. I usually go on walks twice a day, can do short or long walks! My pup usually joins me but currently is recovering from a recent surgery. My current position I’m looking for is to just be a dog walker but would be willing to do at home visits to meet your care needs
“Brooklyn was great! She dropped in multiple times a day to take care of my ducks and aging cat while I was away. She’s responsive, sweet, and left detailed report cards. I definitely plan to work with Brooklyn again in the future :)”

“Did a trial run check in before a weekend stay with my girl. She wasn’t feeling well leading into the day and unfortunately got sick while I was out. Alyssa informed me of this and helped clean it up. Looking forward to entrusting her while I’m gone for a longer period. Thanks again!!”

“Alyssa is my go to for my two kitties. She is incredibly responsive always willing to help with random Amazon packages or watering plants and is super friendly. Grateful for her services and flexibility. Thanks Alyssa!”

“Adam was great with our cats! He took great care of them and was very patient with our cat who tends to hide under the bed around strangers. He also sent lots of wonderful pictures. Highly recommended.”

About: I have 6 years of experience caring for dogs and genuinely love spending time with them. I’ve cared for playful puppies, adult dogs up to 6 years old, reactive dogs, and homes with multiple dogs at once. I take the time to get to know each dog’s personality, routines, and comfort level so they feel safe and happy while you’re away. Whether that means calm walks, structured playtime, or simply keeping them company, I adapt to what your dog needs most. I’m patient, reliable, and treat every dog as if they were my own. I also provide regular updates so you can feel confident your pup is in great hands. I’m currently a college student working part time , so I have open availability most of the week and am available to board on the weekends. I live in a spacious studio apartment without a fenced yard but don’t let that deter you because I am very careful when it comes to pets . Making sure they have their leash on properly and if they’re reactive making sure I’m timing my outings correctly as to not run into other animals or people.
“Chris was an absolute lifesaver coming by for a drop in visit for Turbo today. He is so responsive and I can tell how much he cares for dogs. I will definitely make him my go-to Rover sitter from now on!!”

The median cost per visit for dog sitting in Tacoma is $25

Brooke is such a wonderful person and blessing to us. Brutus and I are so glad we found her. She takes great care of my best friend and it shows. I am hesitant to write this review, I’m not sure we can share her :) She’s easy to chat with, punctual and even gives my my guy his snackies before going out the door. We appreciate her and think she’s the best.

Ashley was wonderful with our dogs while we were away! She took such great care of Morty and Daisy, kept us updated, and gave us peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. She even gave Morty baths and did an excellent job with him! We came home to happy, well-cared-for pups. We’re so grateful for Ashley’s care and would absolutely trust her with our dogs again. Thank you, Ashley!

Brittany is awesome, and we will absolutely rebook! She took excellent care of our pack - two large dogs (one very senior and with some senior pup health challenges) and loved on our shy kitties. She was incredibly responsive via messaging. We had a bit of a bonkers schedule and needed to make a few changes to our booking, and she was kind and communicative about her capacity and flexible throughout! We so appreciated it - she was also able to pivot and work with a sudden new arrival foster pup landing in our home and her experience and clarity about managing multiple dog households during pack integration was top-notch and left us feeling so confident and sure our pack would be in good hands, and our foster would have a great and safe experience. Brittany is a great sitter, and having her as part of our pack care team gave me such peace of mind!

I just love reading Elizabeth’s updates on our dog when she sits for us. She gives him all the cuddles and attention he demands. He always looks forward to her visits, and while he gets sad when he sees us packing for a trip, he knows what “Elizabeth” means, and does his happy tappies.

Kaycee has been an absolute blessing. I needed up in a pinch and she stepped up and eased a bit of my stress. Trusting your dog to be cared for is a big task. I’m very thankful I found her. Brutus is always happy to have an evening visitor and when I arrive home later in the evening, he’s pretty excited to tell me about his day. Im told. he’s been given some extra cheese slices and he’s ecstatic about that.

Rachel is incredible! She is reliable, punctual and very communicative which is so helpful for our peace of mind when we have to leave small dog. Most importantly I felt she really took care to love on Oliver and give him the attention he needed and took good care of him. She has watched Oliver for a couple of times for us and she was flexible and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend Rachel!

Megan and Theo became like family to us and we will greatly miss them. My pup loved their visits and created quite the bond with Theo. Megan would always go above and beyond, making my life so much easier once I got home. One of my favorite things about their visits was that Theo would leave little flowers for me that he had picked from the garden. Anyone would be lucky to have them as their Puppy Sitters. 🥰

Aeja did an incredible job with our drop-in visits! She was reliable, communicative, and took such great care of our dogs. We loved receiving updates and photos, and it was obvious our pups were happy and comfortable with her. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely book with her again! 🐾💙

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
