About: I have been surrounded by pets my whole life and love taking care of them! 24 years of experience with all types of pets. Even reptiles ! From puppies to dogs with health problems, small to big, energetic to the most relaxed animals, I love and experienced it all. I work primarily as a lab / research assistant at WSU Puyallup studying tree pathology and that job is very flexible during the week. I am occupied with that job 10 am - 3 pm during the weekdays but I am able to do pet care any other time during the week. I am completely free during the weekends. Walks before work and after work, staying the night at the pet owners during the work week, and full time care during the weekend are all very doable and welcome. First thing for new animals is building that trust with them. All animals are different with how comfortable they are with new humans and I understand and respect that fully. I would meet them first to see if it's a good match with both the animal and the owner, making sure the animal is acquainted with me. After that initial meeting, I make sure animals are fed to the quality they are use to with their owners, take them on sufficient walks, play with them so they get the social interacts they need to be happy and relaxed, and make sure they have plenty of outside breaks. I follow the lead of the owners so whatever they say goes because they know the animal and their care requirements best. I have a cat at my house currently so care at my home is not really an option.
