“Erica is so amazing, I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my fur babies, especially since they're on the senior side and require a lot of care these days. Love that she’s so communicative and takes care of the guys so well”

“Elizabeth was a perfect match for our cat sitting needs and was able to give our geriatric feline her meds. She was prompt, professional, and relpied quickly to messages. We will definitely ask her to take care of our kitty again!”

About: I moved from Mi to Wa in 2015 and decided in 2018 to be a dog walker. That was in King county and after moving to a house in 2021, dog boarding turned into my new side job. Last year I also enrolled in Victoria Stilwell’s Academy for positive training. So I am very aware of dog’s body language and needs. I absolutely love dogs and they are truly my life now but when I was 8 that wasn’t the case. I was bit in the face by a family friend’s dog. He was old and on medication, I startled him awake which led to him biting me. From this incident, I watched Victoria Stilwell on animal planet to get over my fear of bigger dogs and here I am today with a certification in dog training and starting my career with human’s best friend. My goal is for you and your dog to be as comfortable as possible. I only treat dogs/pets as I would want someone to treat mine (and believe me I am a high maintenance pet mom 😉) Dogs are my job. Whether it is boarding, sitting, or walking; this is what I do full time. Sometimes I do Instacart to get out a bit but will do that when my boyfriend is home. I am starting up my bath bomb business again so to have a companion working alongside with me is my ideal work day. My boyfriend works from home majority of the time, so there is always someone home. His kids do come over 50% of the week and are very kind and helpful with dogs that are boarding with me. They are 12 and 11 so they aren’t little kids. I have lick mats, Kong Gyro, and plenty of space for your dog to have fun at my house. My house is fenced in, we are updating the property all the time to make sure it is safe as possible. For larger dogs, I have a bell on a ziptie to put on your dog’s collar just so I can hear where they are at all times when I am outside with them. For smaller pups, I always go outside with them due to being in an open area so they are safe. I also have a 30’ leash that I can hook them to for extra safety. Inside, I make them as comfortable as possible. Whatever they like at home I try my best to provide at my house.
“Christina came to my rescue last minute in a tough situation and has become our weekly walker. I am so incredibly grateful for the consistent help, flexibility, and experience with reactive dogs. Highly recommend!!!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Alyssa! She was helpful and thorough in the process of orienting her to cat-sit. While we were gone, she sent adorable pictures and videos and provided delightful descriptions of each visit with our cat. My cat can be a bit fractious, and Alyssa definitely understands cat behaviors and how to approach sensitive cats as well as giving meds. 1000% recommend her to anyone with cats or other pets!”

“Carrie was wonderful to work with. She was easy to communicate with, very responsive, and took great care of our three cats while we were away. One of our cats decided to play hide-and-seek the entire time, but Carrie kept us updated on all of them and sent regular messages and photos, which gave us real peace of mind. We came home to happy, well-cared-for cats, and we'd gladly book Carrie again.”

About: Hi, I'm Andrea! I have over 15 years of dedicated pet care experience, ranging from puppyhood to senior care. Recently, I lost with my beloved soul dog, Lucy, who was my best friend of 16 years. While my home feels a bit too quiet right now, I have an abundance of love, patience, and experienced care left to give. Turning my focus toward helping other pet parents brings me immense joy, and I treat every animal in my care with the same deep devotion I gave my own. Because I have a highly reliable and flexible schedule, I am completely open to tailoring my day around your pet's exact routine. 15+ Years of Expertise: Over a decade of hands-on experience means I understand pet behavior, body language, and the exact signs of a happy, healthy animal. All-Weather Walker: I genuinely love going for walks and staying active, rain, snow, or shine. Your pup will never miss their daily outdoor time or exercise just because of a cloudy day. Senior & Special Needs Familiarity: Having cared for my own dog through all stages of life, I am incredibly comfortable with senior pacing, gentle handling, and strict medication schedules. Completely Flexible Availability: My open schedule means your pet will receive undivided attention, timely potty breaks, and a consistent, stress-free routine. I am comfortable with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. Whether your pet needs high-energy companionship or just a quiet, reassuring presence to lounge next to while you are away, I adapt entirely to their comfort level. You can expect frequent photo updates and seamless communication throughout our time together. I offer dependable drop-in visits and walks tailored completely to your dog's energy level and routine. Because I teach part-time at the YMCA, my schedule is incredibly flexible. I can easily accommodate mid-day work breaks, morning strolls, or evening routines. Safety on the Move: I practice strict safety protocols on walks. I never allow interactions with unknown dogs, keep a firm grip on the leash, and stay highly aware of our surroundings. Detailed Post-Visit Reports: After every walk or visit, you will receive a detailed update, including a map of our route (for walks), a potty update, and plenty of photos. Home Security & Trust: I will respect your home, privacy, and security. I am extremely mindful of locking doors, setting alarms, and leaving your house exactly as I found it.
“Lydia watched both my cat and dog over a holiday weekend. Great communication, sent me pictures every day. Very thankful to have someone look after them while I was away. Highly recommend!”

“Tobi is the best! My Moses clearly adores her! I did not worry about him for a second while we were on our trip. I hope that Tobi will be available next time we go out of town!”

“We have a variety of pets, and she took care of all them so greatly. When we came back home, it was as if we were never gone! All of our pets were happy and their usual self! Will definitely contact Abbie again for future pet care.”
“Win took such good care of our dogs on her drop-ins. She was very detailed, took a bunch of pictures, and they seemed really happy to have her there. We would definitely book her again!”

“Theo was so amazing with my pup and made sure she got lots of attention! Very amazing and good understanding of dog’s needs and behavior, highly recommend Theo!”

“We hired Jenna to do drop ins twice a day for a week for our very shy cat who needs medicine with each meal. We loved that Jenna patiently sat with her and built up trust over the week. We’re happy we found Jenna and we look forward to working with her again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Ruston
Holly is heaven sent! I felt so comfortable leaving my two babies in her care for over 2 weeks. She played with them during every visit and made sure they were loved on and got their mental stimulation going. She takes so many amazing pictures too, action shots and portraits and its just the best to see those while being away from them. Anything I asked of her, she was happy to do. And most importantly, my kitties loved her and trusted her. If I ever need them looked after again, I will make sure to reach out to Holly first.

This is our second time traveling with Juli watching our girls! Juli is great with our cats and her daughter tags along so they get extra love and play time! We recommend Juli for anyone in need of a sitter. She’s responsive and well-versed in caring for animals.

Our cat loved Tobi immediately and he usually runs away from new people. Tobi spent quality time with our cat Sansa and took the time to feed, brush and take care of all his needs. We have never had strangers take care of our beloved pets before and we were weary at first but after the great care Tobi provided we are sold on Rover and would definitely recommend Rover and Tobi for your pets.

Lesley watched Cuervo while I was out of town for 2 1/2 weeks and did an amazing job of taking care of him. She brought him extra treats and really devoted her time when she was at my place to make sure Cuervo got love and attention! She really put my mind at ease while I was out of town. She’s the best!

Rachel was fantastic dropping in to take care of my cat. Very responsive and professional. Very attentive to my cat’s needs. And she was able to get me into her schedule despite my last minute request. Will definitely book her again if I need a sitter. Thanks Rachel!

Kyle is such a great sitter! He always sends the best action shots of our cat playing and cuddling. We had a lot of packages arriving this last trip; he was so kind as to stop by to put a large one inside the day before our booking with him officially began, just because we had already left to head out of town. Thank you so much Kyle!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ruston. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
