“As usual, Jerry is wonderful with our cats and dogs. We have a complicated feeding routine with lots of special diets, picky eaters and pills, and he manages it all. Highly recommend, we'll be booking again!”
“Dani was so lovely, we feel lucky to have found her to do drop-ins for our two old ladies when we went out of town! She was very punctual and sent lots of pictures and updates. She’s everything you could need in a dog sitter and goes above and beyond! :)”

“Sarah is very thorough and knows how to judge my puppy’s behavior due to her growing and teething. Sarah has wonderful calm demeanor and patience! Exactly what my little girl needs! Highly recommend Sarah!”

“I'm not much for leaving reviews and am rarely impressed enough to do so. That said, I wanted to make sure I commented on the 5-star care provided by Meredith and Elliott, both of whom are as kind as they are professional. It's clear they love animals—which, of course, is key—but they also go above and beyond in SO MANY ways: Taking time to nurture and play, sending pics, suggesting special care, offering to groom and clean up after my cats and...well...I could go on. Bottom line: I'm a picky guy and I'd encourage anyone with beloved pets to hire these two in a heartbeat. (I just need to make sure I still have access to them when they're rich and famous!)”

“Christy took amazing care of our two dogs while we were out of the country! She has a wonderful way with them and kept us updated on how they were doing. Even though there were times we didn’t have reception to check in, I felt confident and comfortable that Christy was making sure our dogs were happy and cared for! We will definitely book with her again for our next trip! Can’t recommend her enough!! ◡̈”
“Bronwen did a fantastic job taking care of our 2 cats while we were away! She was reliable, a great communicator, and expertly handled each of the cat's unique needs. You can trust that your pets will be in great hands while you are gone!”

“Deanna does a great job of cat-sitting when we’re out of town. Excellent with pets and great communication. We’re grateful to have found such a reliable pet-sitter close by.”

“Russell was absolutely wonderful with our girl, Moose! From the beginning, we felt completely comfortable leaving her in his care. He was kind, attentive, dependable, and clearly has a love for dogs. Russell took Moose on walks and sent us photos and updates while we were away, which we really appreciated. Seeing her happy and comfortable gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our time away without worrying. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for Moose! We would absolutely trust Russell with her again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone who will genuinely care for their dog like their own.”

“Anna was wonderful with our Bean and Boba. She did everything we asked of her while we were away for a night. I will definitely contact Anna for a drop-in next time.”

“Deborah is phenomenal. She’s pet sit for us a few times now and always goes above and beyond to make sure the kitties are cuddled and well taken care of. Also, always appreciate the attention to little things around the house. Highly recommend!”

“Our Bloodhounds take a min to warm up to others while we are away. Dawn and her husband are very calm and patient with them and they warm up quick. Was nice to go out of town for a week knowing they were well taken care of with daily updates and pics! Highly recommend!”

“Brooklyn is awesome! She is consistent, sweet with my dog, quick to respond and so trust worthy! She will be requested anytime help with our doggo is needed!”

“Morgana was a wonderful sitter, she communicated well, asked questions when needed, & was very gentle with our scared cats until they gained her trust. She provided an adequate amount of pictures! A great sitter all around!”

“Lydia was wonderful with my girls. They bark and intimidate some sitters, but she loved on them and took special care. She was also on-time for her visits. Very highly recommended.”

About: Hi! I am a stay-at-home mom of a human baby and two fur babies. I previously worked in upstate NY for a dog training company, My Dog Hikes, as a dog hiker where we took dogs from NYC into the woods for full day dog-care fun. Because of this I am comfortable giving medication and using training commands. I also have a Cattle Dog (Clayton) and Black Lab mix (Tarzan) of my own. I would love to take your little ones on the trails, play fetch in the yard, or just snuggle on the couch with lots of pets. I have a very open schedule so can work around any timeframe you need! As childcare is very expensive, please note before booking me that my son, Eli (3), will be joining me on my jobs. We can always meet beforehand to see if it's a good fit! Additionally - I do not accept requests for recurring weekly services and prefer them to be sporadic. **Temporarily pausing in home stays until my husband returns home from deployment** As I am a stay-at-home mom your typical work week is when I am available. I can be flexible around your schedule! I can also stop by to spend some time with your pets on the weekend, so you can go enjoy a trip away. (: I do not care for dogs in my own home as my Lab does not like other dogs. In your home, however, I take care to follow all instructions closely! I take many pictures so prepare for cuteness overload. I also have experience working with a dog training/walking company in NYC and am comfortable with a wide array of needs.
“We had such a great experience with Megan! She was reliable, communicative, and clearly has a natural way with dogs. I really appreciate the care and attention she gave them—it gave me so much peace of mind. I’ll definitely be booking with her again! 🐾”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Gig Harbor
We had to book last minute travel due to a family emergency, and Maria was able to accommodate us on short notice. Communication was great, and she was flexible with our needs and updates. Our Maltese, Marley, doesn’t do well with other dogs, so boarding would have been extra stressful. We really appreciated being able to schedule three drop-in visits per day. Thanks for taking care of our fur babies while we were away!

I booked Amber to watch my kitties over the Christmas holiday. I came home to my kitties healthy, and thus grateful for their care. We did have some communication issues (her phone didn’t have service/not on and a missed drop in which I had to reach out to her first (hours later) to understand what was going on). I do want to say that she did remedy the issue in the end. My only critique is that I would have wanted her to find a way to communicate with me first when things arise that affect my pets feeding schedule so I could find an alternative solution, that way she could focus on any personal emergencies that pop up. Overall Amber is nice and friendly and I know with more pet-sitting experience she will be a well-sought after Rover sitter.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gig Harbor. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
