About: Hi! I am a stay-at-home mom of a human baby and two fur babies. I previously worked in upstate NY for a dog training company, My Dog Hikes, as a dog hiker where we took dogs from NYC into the woods for full day dog-care fun. Because of this I am comfortable giving medication and using training commands. I also have a Cattle Dog (Clayton) and Black Lab mix (Tarzan) of my own. I would love to take your little ones on the trails, play fetch in the yard, or just snuggle on the couch with lots of pets. I have a very open schedule so can work around any timeframe you need! As childcare is very expensive, please note before booking me that my son, Eli (3), will be joining me on my jobs. We can always meet beforehand to see if it's a good fit! Additionally - I do not accept requests for recurring weekly services and prefer them to be sporadic. As I am a stay-at-home mom your typical work week is when I am available. I can be flexible around your schedule! I can also stop by to spend some time with your pets on the weekend, so you can go enjoy a trip away. (: I do not care for dogs in my own home as my Lab does not like other dogs. In your home, however, I take care to follow all instructions closely! I take many pictures so prepare for cuteness overload. I also have experience working with a dog training/walking company in NYC and am comfortable with a wide array of needs.
About: I have taken care of dogs since my childhood, both my family dogs and those of friends and neighbors. I am comfortable giving oral medications as my dog takes daily oral medication. I have also watched our friends and neighbors cats since I was a teenager and know how special it is when they take a liking to you. About: I've had pets most of my life including dogs, cats, fish and birds. I had 2 small dogs that recently passed away. One of them I had from a puppy until she passed at 15 years old. The other I adopted at 6 years old and had her until she was 12. So I'm very experienced taking care of all ages of pets. I loved my pets as if they were my kids and hope to pass that kind of care to your pets! I have a flexible schedule at the moment, but normally work full time Monday through Thursday. If boarding, I need a couple days in advance notice to make sure I can accommodate your pets needs. I own my own house with a fenced in yard. I live alone with no other pets. About: Hi! My name is Cathy, and ever since I was a little kid, I have had a huge fascination and connection with animals, specifically dogs. As a younging I'd spend my free time researching dog breeds for fun, and before I was old enough to work on Rover, I I hung up fliers advertising my own dog walking business. When I heard about my dog’s disease prognosis, I began hand cooking him meals chock full of cancer-fighting vegetables and supplements in addition to his dry food. This included (as seen in my photos) sweet potatoes, red cabbage, broccoli, turmeric, fish oil, mushroom powder, etc. The vet had projected he would only live another 2 months, with my care and the change of his food, he lived and loved over 2 more years! So if your dog has a special diet, do not hesitate to let me know. I am currently a student who mainly works from home so I have plenty of time and a wide open schedule to care for your precious pets. My house is smoke free, pet safe and pet friendly. Ross was an absolute Godsend!! He took such good care of my kitties, and they warmed up to him rather quickly, even my shy girl Rosie. He kept in touch promptly and made sure to leave detailed notes after each visit. He was extremely accommodating as well, as maintenance had to change my locks while I was away and I also had a package delivered early... I informed him of all of this and he graciously changed my keys on my key ring and made sure my package made it inside safely. He went above and beyond the call of duty and I felt my kitties were in great hands. I would 100% book with him again!
I booked Amber to watch my kitties over the Christmas holiday. I came home to my kitties healthy, and thus grateful for their care. We did have some communication issues (her phone didn’t have service/not on and a missed drop in which I had to reach out to her first (hours later) to understand what was going on). I do want to say that she did remedy the issue in the end. My only critique is that I would have wanted her to find a way to communicate with me first when things arise that affect my pets feeding schedule so I could find an alternative solution, that way she could focus on any personal emergencies that pop up. Overall Amber is nice and friendly and I know with more pet-sitting experience she will be a well-sought after Rover sitter.
