“Sarah is very thorough and knows how to judge my puppy’s behavior due to her growing and teething. Sarah has wonderful calm demeanor and patience! Exactly what my little girl needs! Highly recommend Sarah!”

“Incredible work again Jerry!! All three of our cats seemed happy, interactive and almost seemed brushed!!?!! Thank you Jerry for keeping an eye on our 4 legged family while we were gone- we would not trust them to anyone but Jerry!! Anna”

“Anne is great! We had to be away for a work thing and needed someone to feed and play with our dogs on short notice. After meeting Anne we felt comfortable and not at all anxious. Hope she's available for a need in the future.”

About: I moved from Mi to Wa in 2015 and decided in 2018 to be a dog walker. That was in King county and after moving to a house in 2021, dog boarding turned into my new side job. Last year I also enrolled in Victoria Stilwell’s Academy for positive training. So I am very aware of dog’s body language and needs. I absolutely love dogs and they are truly my life now but when I was 8 that wasn’t the case. I was bit in the face by a family friend’s dog. He was old and on medication, I startled him awake which led to him biting me. From this incident, I watched Victoria Stilwell on animal planet to get over my fear of bigger dogs and here I am today with a certification in dog training and starting my career with human’s best friend. My goal is for you and your dog to be as comfortable as possible. I only treat dogs/pets as I would want someone to treat mine (and believe me I am a high maintenance pet mom 😉) Dogs are my job. Whether it is boarding, sitting, or walking; this is what I do full time. Sometimes I do Instacart to get out a bit but will do that when my boyfriend is home. I am starting up my bath bomb business again so to have a companion working alongside with me is my ideal work day. My boyfriend works from home majority of the time, so there is always someone home. His kids do come over 50% of the week and are very kind and helpful with dogs that are boarding with me. They are 12 and 11 so they aren’t little kids. I have lick mats, Kong Gyro, and plenty of space for your dog to have fun at my house. My house is fenced in, we are updating the property all the time to make sure it is safe as possible. For larger dogs, I have a bell on a ziptie to put on your dog’s collar just so I can hear where they are at all times when I am outside with them. For smaller pups, I always go outside with them due to being in an open area so they are safe. I also have a 30’ leash that I can hook them to for extra safety. Inside, I make them as comfortable as possible. Whatever they like at home I try my best to provide at my house.
“Christy is the absolute best. She takes care of our babies like they are her own. I can’t speak more highly of Christy - from thinking to turn the TV on to entertain them when we are gone to cleaning up after our dog when he tracks in mud - she is an absolute angel to work with. If I could give more stars I would ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!”

“Lydia was wonderful with my girls. They bark and intimidate some sitters, but she loved on them and took special care. She was also on-time for her visits. Very highly recommended.”

“Our Bloodhounds take a min to warm up to others while we are away. Dawn and her husband are very calm and patient with them and they warm up quick. Was nice to go out of town for a week knowing they were well taken care of with daily updates and pics! Highly recommend!”

“Wynona jumped in to help us out when our regular sitter was unavailable. She was wonderful!! She was prompt, communicative, and helped looked after our home while we were gone. She went out of her way to visit an additional day when I had a delivery too. Super sweet, and thoughtful. She even came by ahead of time to learn the nuances. Highly recommend!”

“Kayleigh is amazing! She took great care of the pups during a long drop in making sure they were walked, fed, and played, and had extra patience getting our picky pup to finish his dinner when we usually can't get him to eat ourselves. We'll definitely use Kayleigh again!”

“Our three girls love Erica coming to visit. They get so excited when we say “Erica is going to come see you today”. Rover card is helpful and always good information. She makes sure the girls have fresh water and are safely back in their area. We love the help Erica provides!”

“Teresa was amazing! I can’t say enough good things about her and how she treated our baby. Our pup needs subcutaneous fluids everyday, so we hired her to do that while we were out of town. She handled her with such care and love, it made my partner and I happy/ease knowing she was so well taken care of! We will definitely be booking with her again! Thank you again Teresa!!!!”

“Erin was amazing. My dog and cat were happy when we came home. My dog is a senior blind tripawd and the fact that she has a blind dog made me feel so much better about leaving my guy home :( She checked in twice daily on time and didn’t hesitate to ask questions when needed. I’ll definitely trust her with my pets again.”

About: I grew up with two wonderful dogs, Ranger and Lucy, and I helped to train them as I got older. I worked at a great doggie daycare for an about a year in 2023-24 and I learned lots of awesome techniques and information about dogs' body language, needs, and other things. I am also equipped to handle medications, whether it be pills, ear/eye drops, or injections. I enjoy being around and training dogs very much, I'd say they're one of the things I am most passionate about! I think that staying with dogs, either overnight or just for the day sounds like a dream! I attend Seattle University during the year (mid September-mid June) but I’m currently home for the summer and I’d love to make a little extra money taking care of your best friend. I work in the evenings Monday-Friday from about 3-7pm. I’m available anytime of day during the weekends and any time other than my specified work hours on weekdays. I mentioned this in my description but I very much enjoy training dogs (although I’m not the most experienced or effective), cuddling or playing with them, whichever they prefer, and am capable of providing medications of multiple kinds to your pets. I can provide potty breaks both during the day and night if needed. I can sleep on a couch or in a bed, either with or without your pet. Personally, my dogs are crate-trained, so I understand not wanting them on couches or beds to sleep or just in general. Although, I would be absolutely overjoyed to have a sweet cuddle buddy to sleep with me. One last thing about safety, at my previous job, I was often alone in a room of up to 50 dogs and am well aware of techniques to break up a fight, although I doubt I will need to do this, I think it’s an important thing to know about the person taking care of your pet.

“Nicole has been like a second cat mom to our two rag doll kitties. I book her every single time we go on a trip. She is the best. I feel so at ease when I know Nicole will be caring for our girls while we are away. She brings them treats, brushes them, and even puts on their "favorite program" (Cat TV). Nicole always leaves our house clean, and refreshes all the food and water bowls. She goes above and beyond for us and our kitties. We appreciate her so much, and highly highly recommend her!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Canterwood
Kristen took the time to get to know Steve (domestic shorthair cat) and his needs before I left for a short trip. I was concerned given his new medical condition, but Kristen was able to administer medication and provide me piece of mind so I could enjoy the great outdoors. Steve immediately took to her and was relaxed and happy to see me upon my return. Thank you so much!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Canterwood. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
