Jerry as always, we immediately thought of you caring for our four-legged family members the minute we realize we were going out of town. About: **I do rover in Gig Harbor and Austin, depending where I’m at (WFH perk!)** Dogs have been a huge part of my life for over 12 years. I have cared for two wonderful dogs of my own—a small dog named Gunner and a Chocolate Lab named Jeter—which has given me experience with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. Through caring for my own pets, I’ve become comfortable with daily walks, feeding schedules, administering basic medications, playtime, grooming, and providing lots of love and attention. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your furry family member. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while you’re away. I work from home full-time, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs playtime, walks, potty breaks, medication, or simply someone nearby to keep them company, I can be there. For house sitting, I can bring my work setup with me so your pet can stay comfortable in their familiar environment while still receiving lots of love and attention. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. Because I work from home, I’m able to spend more quality time with pets throughout the day, providing regular walks, playtime, cuddles, potty breaks, and plenty of supervision. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and needs so they can feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away. Whether your pet is energetic and loves adventure or prefers a calm companion to relax with, I’ll make sure they receive attentive, loving care and lots of affection. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.

Russell was absolutely wonderful with our girl, Moose! From the beginning, we felt completely comfortable leaving her in his care. He was kind, attentive, dependable, and clearly has a love for dogs. Russell took Moose on walks and sent us photos and updates while we were away, which we really appreciated. Seeing her happy and comfortable gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our time away without worrying. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for Moose! We would absolutely trust Russell with her again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone who will genuinely care for their dog like their own.

Erika did a great job with our 7 cats! We have two seniors and three that need daily meds, including insulin, and Erika handled it all with ease. We also have a cat who is terrified of everyone, but she let Erika pet het! AMAZING! The cats were happy when we came home, which makes us happy!

Christy was GRRRREAT! In addition to unabashedly doting on Filbert and taking him for a walk (which, as she knew, was at her own peril as he's leash-reactive) she helped me navigate Rover's byzantine scheduling interface and obtained a refund for me after even Rover's "Help" support messed up the visit. (Apparently they also struggle w/ the system!) All-in-all, I'm not sure who enjoyed who's company more, but I could definitely tell our Filbert was sorry to see her go and we're both looking forward to Christy's next visit.

About: Hi! I am a stay-at-home mom of a human baby and two fur babies. I previously worked in upstate NY for a dog training company, My Dog Hikes, as a dog hiker where we took dogs from NYC into the woods for full day dog-care fun. Because of this I am comfortable giving medication and using training commands. I also have a Cattle Dog (Clayton) and Black Lab mix (Tarzan) of my own. I would love to take your little ones on the trails, play fetch in the yard, or just snuggle on the couch with lots of pets. I have a very open schedule so can work around any timeframe you need! As childcare is very expensive, please note before booking me that my son, Eli (3), will be joining me on my jobs. We can always meet beforehand to see if it's a good fit! Additionally - I do not accept requests for recurring weekly services and prefer them to be sporadic. As I am a stay-at-home mom your typical work week is when I am available. I can be flexible around your schedule! I can also stop by to spend some time with your pets on the weekend, so you can go enjoy a trip away. (: I do not care for dogs in my own home as my Lab does not like other dogs. In your home, however, I take care to follow all instructions closely! I take many pictures so prepare for cuteness overload. I also have experience working with a dog training/walking company in NYC and am comfortable with a wide array of needs.

About: I moved from Mi to Wa in 2015 and decided in 2018 to be a dog walker. That was in King county and after moving to a house in 2021, dog boarding turned into my new side job. Last year I also enrolled in Victoria Stilwell’s Academy for positive training. So I am very aware of dog’s body language and needs. I absolutely love dogs and they are truly my life now but when I was 8 that wasn’t the case. I was bit in the face by a family friend’s dog. He was old and on medication, I startled him awake which led to him biting me. From this incident, I watched Victoria Stilwell on animal planet to get over my fear of bigger dogs and here I am today with a certification in dog training and starting my career with human’s best friend. My goal is for you and your dog to be as comfortable as possible. I only treat dogs/pets as I would want someone to treat mine (and believe me I am a high maintenance pet mom 😉) Dogs are my job. Whether it is boarding, sitting, or walking; this is what I do full time. Sometimes I do Instacart to get out a bit but will do that when my boyfriend is home. I am starting up my bath bomb business again so to have a companion working alongside with me is my ideal work day. My boyfriend works from home majority of the time, so there is always someone home. His kids do come over 50% of the week and are very kind and helpful with dogs that are boarding with me. They are 12 and 11 so they aren’t little kids. I have lick mats, Kong Gyro, and plenty of space for your dog to have fun at my house. My house is fenced in, we are updating the property all the time to make sure it is safe as possible. For larger dogs, I have a bell on a ziptie to put on your dog’s collar just so I can hear where they are at all times when I am outside with them. For smaller pups, I always go outside with them due to being in an open area so they are safe. I also have a 30’ leash that I can hook them to for extra safety. Inside, I make them as comfortable as possible. Whatever they like at home I try my best to provide at my house.

I'm not much for leaving reviews and am rarely impressed enough to do so. That said, I wanted to make sure I commented on the 5-star care provided by Meredith and Elliott, both of whom are as kind as they are professional. It's clear they love animals—which, of course, is key—but they also go above and beyond in SO MANY ways: Taking time to nurture and play, sending pics, suggesting special care, offering to groom and clean up after my cats and...well...I could go on. Bottom line: I'm a picky guy and I'd encourage anyone with beloved pets to hire these two in a heartbeat. (I just need to make sure I still have access to them when they're rich and famous!)

About: I’ve been taking care of pets for friends and family since I was 16. This includes daily watching or housesitting/pet sitting for extended periods of time. There is nothing I enjoy more than bonding with animals and being a source of safety and comfort when their humans are away! I currently work from home and can be available to work from various locations! My workload varies day to day but often provides ample break times! I provide pet care in the home of others by following the established rules and wishes of the pet owner to a T. I like to keep pets on their already established routines and ensure they are receiving the same love and care their human would give! This also includes whatever chores are required while in the home as well.

Teresa did an awesome job watching our little zoo crew. Our bigger dogs seemed to really enjoy spending time with her and were happy and healthy when we got home. Unfortunately, our smaller dog seemed to have a hard time warming up (she’s never been away from us, so I’m not too surprised) but Teresa did what she could to accommodate her and help her feel cozy and safe. We would definitely recommend and would be happy to have her hang out with our crew again!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 5,810 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Swede Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Swede Hill. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
