“I could not have been more pleased with the care my fur baby, Toby, received from Tobi. First, we had a meet and greet where Toby was introduced to the resident dogs. They were as welcoming as Tobi and her husband! On the day I dropped Toby off for his stay, he went right in without any nervousness, not even looking back at me. Tobi sent me updates with photos almost daily, and I could see Toby was blending right into the family (he slept on the bed with everyone at night.) About: I moved from Mi to Wa in 2015 and decided in 2018 to be a dog walker. That was in King county and after moving to a house in 2021, dog boarding turned into my new side job. Last year I also enrolled in Victoria Stilwell’s Academy for positive training. So I am very aware of dog’s body language and needs. I absolutely love dogs and they are truly my life now but when I was 8 that wasn’t the case. I was bit in the face by a family friend’s dog. He was old and on medication, I startled him awake which led to him biting me. From this incident, I watched Victoria Stilwell on animal planet to get over my fear of bigger dogs and here I am today with a certification in dog training and starting my career with human’s best friend. My goal is for you and your dog to be as comfortable as possible. I only treat dogs/pets as I would want someone to treat mine (and believe me I am a high maintenance pet mom 😉) Dogs are my job. Whether it is boarding, sitting, or walking; this is what I do full time. Sometimes I do Instacart to get out a bit but will do that when my boyfriend is home. I am starting up my bath bomb business again so to have a companion working alongside with me is my ideal work day. My boyfriend works from home majority of the time, so there is always someone home. His kids do come over 50% of the week and are very kind and helpful with dogs that are boarding with me. They are 12 and 11 so they aren’t little kids. I have lick mats, Kong Gyro, and plenty of space for your dog to have fun at my house. My house is fenced in, we are updating the property all the time to make sure it is safe as possible. For larger dogs, I have a bell on a ziptie to put on your dog’s collar just so I can hear where they are at all times when I am outside with them. For smaller pups, I always go outside with them due to being in an open area so they are safe. I also have a 30’ leash that I can hook them to for extra safety. Inside, I make them as comfortable as possible. Whatever they like at home I try my best to provide at my house.

About: Currently work from home and have free time on my hands. I have had dogs my entire life and have 2 dog now (Frenchie & Pit mix) I am great with all sizes and can handle big dogs very well. I have experience with puppies as young as 8 weeks and older dogs up to 16 years old. I love love cats as well 🐱 I have experience with giving dogs medications, such a fluids, shots, pills and more. I will make sure that your dogs will be kept on schedule because I know how important that is in my home for my dogs. Currently work from home right now. Inquire about repeat walks. I am pretty flexible so I’m easy with last minute scheduling. I schedule meetings around my walks if needed I will cater to Your dogs needs. Sometimes I get shy dogs so I will give them their space to feel comfortable. If they need alone time to play I will keep my dog separate from that. If they get along with my dogs I usually let them run around in the yard and keep them on a consistent schedule together.

About: Hello! I have owned dogs for the past 10 years, and have been dog sitting for 5 years. My goal is to keep them happy and healthy. I will treat every dog in my care like my own. Hello! I have a collie mix named Sadie who has taught me a lot as a dog owner. I love all pets especially dogs, and it is a joy to see a smile on a dog’s face. I treat every dog in my care like my own in that I believe their physical and mental health is important to a happy dog. It can be a little stressful for a dog to be in a new environment with a new person, so I like to keep their routine the best I can.
About: We are a family of 3 who live in the Gig Harbor/Purdy area. Our home is located on 2.4 acres with open grass areas and a fenced area if your dog prefers to be outside. **Note: fenced area is currently undergoing some summer cleanup so dogs are not left unattended in the yard at this time. We provide a designated doggy sleeping area inside our home which includes a soft doggie bed. We will make sure your pet gets a lot of outdoor time taking walks with us. I also make homemade, healthy doggie treats to spoil them while they are vacationing with us. Your pet will be treated as if he/she was our own pet and will have plenty of playtime and attention. We love dogs and want them to feel at home in our country setting. Also we are not a large kennel, so we only have 2-4 dogs at one time which allows us to give each dog plenty of time and attention and keep things mellow for the dogs and us. We do have our own doggie Willow. She just turned 5 in July. She does well playing with dogs of all sizes. She has made many dog friends through my daycare. *Due to restrictions of our homeowners insurance, certain breeds are not accepted at this time.* I am home all day to watch and play with your pet. I rarely leave but when I sometimes have to leave for short periods, your dog will be very comfortable in our large dog crates with comfortable padded beds. Our family loves dogs and your pet will receive alot of attention and exercise. During the day they can be outside playing in the fenced area (**see above) or just hang out inside with our family, and in the evenings all dogs sleep inside the house with us. We do use crates at night for dogs that are used to that and we provide soft dog bedding in the crates. Dogs that do not prefer crates sleep on dog beds in our bedrooms so they never feel alone.

About: Hi! I grew up locally on Fox Island with my family. We’ve always had 1-2 dogs at a time from puppy to elder. I’ve always taken on the responsibility that comes with dogs from a young age to now - feeding, play time, walks, cleaning and overall care. I have been active on Rover for the last three years and currently operate my own LLC. I reside in a quiet neighborhood at a dead end street with my five year old son - who is also great with dogs! My house includes a large fully fenced backyard - plenty of room for running, ball tossing and lounging. I have a flexible schedule which allows for ample potty breaks, outdoor time as well as extra care and attention! I work 2 miles from my house part time M-F, 9 am - 2 pm with a mid day outside break for dogs on my lunch break. I host multiple client’s pets at a time and am only taking on dogs that are friendly and get a long with other dogs. I do not currently have any pets of my own and have added interior cameras to monitor dogs if I’m away. I work with two local sitters as well to accommodate additional outdoor time, play time and potty breaks.

About: I saved my Chihuahua, Thistle, from a kill shelter when he was 18 months old. I nursed him through being hit by a car, helped him gain weight from being underfed, and encouraged him to be a confident dog (he was extremely anxious) through training and gentle love and care. From this, I learned how to administer medications to animals, so I can provide this kind of care to your fur babies also. My Chihuahua is now a senior dog, but you wouldn’t be able to tell with how active he is! He gets lots of walks and play time, and he loves it best when I get on the floor with him. I am comfortable getting to know your pet and giving them the level and type of attention that they need! I looked into breed specific care, and Chihuahuas have weaker joints, so I put him on a joint supplement right when I got him, and it has really made a difference in his mobility and quality of life. It’s important to administer care to animals in the specific way that is best for them! I would show the same consideration to your pet. That includes factoring in their temperament. As my dog has gotten older, his needs around personal boundaries have increased, so I make sure to check in with him before petting him, picking him up, or otherwise touching him, and I do not touch him if he gives me a no, except in an actual emergency (i.e. the animal could be hurt or hurt someone else if I do not touch them). As my dog is a people’s dog and not a dog’s dog, I offer my services in your home. I can walk your pet, do a drop-in visit, or housesit! About: I grew up caring for small dogs, large dogs, chickens, cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs… we lived on 4 acres, surrounded by other family members in the neighborhood, and I love all of the animals! I'll take 'em cute, crotchety, pudgy, feathered, or furred. :) I have regularly cared for pets of family, friends and business connections, in their home, or mine. I've seen my own pets through old age, and the related medical needs that come with that, so administering medications (oral, subdermal, dermal) doesn't phase me. Note that extensive medication schedules may result in added costs. I work hybrid, primarily, so there's ample flexibility in my schedule to match up with your needs. Since 2023, I work 4-6 hours/day, with a local company (I get to choose my shifts). All these little pieces can be moved around, to make a schedule that fits your pet's care needs. :) Primary Service Areas: Gig Harbor, Fox Island, West Tacoma, North Tacoma/Stadium District, Ruston, Central Tacoma, Fircrest, Steilacoom, North University Place Secondary Service Areas: Golden Given Rd, Waller Rd, Parkland (near PLU only), Olalla, Port Orchard -Out-of-area costs will apply for secondary areas. -Be aware that there are certain neighborhoods that will be excluded, in Tacoma, as a personal safety choice. Note: For house sitting & drop-ins, Gig Harbor/KP bookings will result in an added $6 per night/trip, to help soften costs for fuel and toll. House sitting is available most holidays. Thanksgiving Eve, Day and adjacent weekend have a 10% premium fee added. December 24th-27th, Dec 31st-Jan 2nd have a 12% premium fee added, with a more limited service area. Please ask for details and adjusted quote. Your Place: I'm tidy and conscientious. It's my pleasure to adapt my schedule to your pet's needs. I'm happy to care for multiple pets, in your home (or yard... need help with goats or chickens? Yay! I'm your gal.). Please expect a potty schedule of every 4-6 hours. I'm tidy, bring most of my own groceries (I appreciate it if you provide coffee, tea, cream, sugar, salt, pepper and cooking oil), and I love to bring healthy (approved) treats, and toys, for your pets. My Place: I live alone, in a 1 bedroom place, that I own. I have a few construction projects going, so it's not currently available for boarding, but I hope to have that service in the future. At my place, there's ample room for a small dog, cat, bunny or bird. A dog will be walked 3-5 times/day, depending on their needs. There are dog and cat treats, dog toys, cat toys, and a scratching post, here.
About: I’ve never understood why chihuahuas loved me so much until I realized how much people don’t respect the boundaries of such small creatures. So much so, they feel the need to be aggressive and defend themselves! I know a good amount about dogs and dogs breeds, how different breeds have different needs and will strive to meet the needs of your fur-baby! I am a full-time Master’s student, but my classes are on weekends only. I have many things to read so overnights would likely be spent playing with your fur-baby before I get some reading done for my degree. To make sure you and your fur-baby feel safe with me in your home, I will make sure to talk through routines you may have with your pet(s). I know how hard it is to be away from your pet, so I will make sure to send photos and videos as requested. I want to make sure I know how to properly care for your pets, so I may have a couple extra questions to figure out how I may support you and your pet.
