“Laura is the best. She’s great with George, follows all instructions, is so flexible and accommodating, always early, takes the best pictures of George…she’s a professional at everything she does. George and I love her!!!”

“10/10 would recommend & rebook. Megan was really great with our fur babies as well as keeping us informed while we were away. We forgot to leave the TV on for our pets and she remembered our conversation during our initial meeting, and turned on the TV for them. The peace of mind and care she provided was everything we could have asked for.”

“Alyssa is amazing!!! We have a pup with special needs (deaf and vision impaired) and two rabbits. Until we met Alyssa, we had only trusted close family and friends to care for our babies. Alyssa eased so much of our anxieties of leaving our babies with someone new by asking great questions, being eager to learn about all their quirks and personalities, and following our care instructions meticulously. She even leaves incredible notes after each visit. We call them “story time” and love reading them while we’re on vacation. They help us know our babies are happy and doing well while we’re gone. Because our pup can be nervous around strangers, Alyssa was so kind and understanding when we requested to book her for multiple “get to know you” visits before we even went on our first trip with Alyssa caring for our babies. We have been blown away with her professionalism and care and have been able to go on more weekend getaways because of her! We are so grateful and are starting to think our babies would rather see her than us! Thank you for everything Alyssa!”

“Theo was so amazing with my pup and made sure she got lots of attention! Very amazing and good understanding of dog’s needs and behavior, highly recommend Theo!”

“Christina came to my rescue last minute in a tough situation and has become our weekly walker. I am so incredibly grateful for the consistent help, flexibility, and experience with reactive dogs. Highly recommend!!!”

“Elizabeth was so great and easy to work with! Her Rover cards were the most detailed I’ve ever received, and she really made sure to spend time with our kitty to give her sime playtime and snuggles. I would definitely recommend hiring her, and would love the opportunity to hire her again another time!”

“Juli is amazing and has a 6th sense for pups needs. My beloved pup loves her and I feel so much better when she is able to check in on him. Thanks for your care for our babies”
“Quinn was amazing with my cats! I left for a few days out of state and came back to the place looking great! I’ve had some experiences with sitters leave a mess with the litter, Quinn kept everything very clean! Will book again.”

“Highly recommend Carrie if you need a cat sitter! Carrie did check-ins for my senior cat while we were away for 7 days during Thanksgiving week. I was a bit nervous, as I've never had to leave my cat alone for that long before. The meet-and-greet with Carrie alleviated all my worries! She was wonderful with our cat, and gave him so much love, attention, and play time while we were away. Her update reports were always detailed and lovely to read, and she sent tons of great photos with each report. Everything was clean when we returned home (cat box empty/clean, litter swept off the floor). Carrie was always on time for meet-ups, check-ins, key exchanges etc, and is the perfect person to have check-in on your pet! :) I'll definitely be reaching out to her again next time we need someone to check on our cat!”

About: Caring for animals isn't just what I do—it's what I've dedicated my career to for the past four and a half years in the animal welfare field in two different states! As a dog parent myself, I know firsthand how much our pets mean to us and how reassuring it is to receive updates and know they're receiving excellent care. My goal is to create a safe, fun, enriching, and stress-free experience for your pet while making sure you, as the pet parent, feel informed and confident every step of the way. I take the time to build trust with each animal and provide the kind of attentive, personalized care every pet deserves! I am a part-time student working on my Master's in Social Work by night, and a pet parent and caretaker by day! With a flexible daytime schedule and a genuine love for animals, I'm able to prioritize quality care, regular exercise, and meaningful one-on-one attention for every pet I care for. I believe pets thrive when their routines and preferences are respected. I take the time to learn each pet's unique needs, from exercise and enrichment to feeding schedules and favorite activities. My goal is to create a positive, low-stress experience by providing attentive care, plenty of engagement, and lots of affection. With my background in animal welfare and experience as a pet parent myself, I understand how important trust and communication are, so I make sure pet parents receive regular updates and photos throughout my time with their pet.
“Going on a 10-day trip and leaving your cats behind can be quite distressing. However, Nisa took great care during her time with our cats, ensuring they were well-fed and remained active with their toys. She also sent us some delightful photos of the cats, which was greatly reassuring. I'd recommend Nisa to anyone in need of cat care!”
“Brooklyn was great! She dropped in multiple times a day to take care of my ducks and aging cat while I was away. She’s responsive, sweet, and left detailed report cards. I definitely plan to work with Brooklyn again in the future :)”

“We use Holly’s services a bunch and can attest to how great she is with our little (big) pup and our home. Complete peace of mind every time she stops in to take care of Flicka. We cannot recommend her enough. Thanks Holly for being such a great dog sitter!”

“Emily was wonderful with our cats! She sent a note and pictures everyday for us. I would highly recommend her and will definitely hire her again when we need to be gone.”

“Carly was amazing! She was on time on all visits and made sure my kitty was OK considering she loves to hide. She was so kind, she even swept up the cat litter before I got home from my vacation”

“Rachel is wonderful with our kitty. She is communicative and considerate. She tries to play with Stormy, gives her treats, feeds her, and cleans up after her, and is a great relief that we have her to pet sit when we go out of town. I’d highly suggest her.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Tacoma
Megan has been such a great help with our disabled older dog. She has been flexible with our schedule, and always communicates well with us after and during each visit. I would recommend her for any one looking for a kind and compassionate pet sitter. Thank you Megan!

Kayleigh did an amazing job of taking care of my Vivi while I was out of town. She spent so much time with her and made sure she had food, drink and a clean litter box with each visit. I recommend her for new cat mamas who are going out of town and leaving their cats alone for the first time! She worked hard to get Vivi to warm up, and I appreciate her so much!

Susie has checked in on my kitties and provided them excellent care a few times now-my super anxious one even comes out of hiding when she is dropping in. She is always the first person I ask and it puts my mind at ease to know she is going to be with them! I highly recommend her. She goes the extra mile and even stopped by to remove a possibly dangerous item the cats could have gotten into if they got bored enough, outside of the window I booked her because I was worried the cats could get into something they shouldn't have. All around, she provides 5 star service and really loves cats. :)

Kayla is absolutely fantastic! This was our first time utilizing rover and she made the experience so easy and stress free! She is very sweet, honest and transparent. We would get constant updates and pictures, even bonus tips on our pet. We will definitely contact Kayla again!

We’ve been working with Juli for several years now. Although we only ask her to come by intermittently, she is always our first choice. We trust her completely with our fur family. She’s an excellent communicator and completely dependable. One of the things we like the best is her comprehensive and detailed report cards and she takes lots of pictures. Juli is an absolute pro and we really appreciate her!

Holly took care my 2 cats for 5 days and she was great! It was obvious right away that she has a love for animals and she was great with my girls, going above and beyond to make sure their needs were met. She also sends pictures and an overview of her visits each time, and is responsive to my questions . I will definitely book Holy in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
