“Jodi was absolutely perfect. She was a lifesaver and was able to check in with our kitties during the holidays. She took her time and gave them great attention. Jodi kept in touch and provides us photos every day. The next time we head out of town, she will definitely be our go to cat sitter. Thank you, Jodi!”

“Provides exceptional service to our pups. She sends us great pictures, descriptive updates, and offers to do more than what was initially requested. Our dogs love Heather. She treats them like they are her own, and we could not be more grateful!”

About: My name is Samantha! I am teacher and have breaks to help out other dog owners. I have owned dogs my whole life. I am very safe and responsible and am used to managing 30 kids all day, I can definitely handle a couple pups! I will be very respectful of your time and can be flexible to accommodate you and your pup. I love going in walks, and would love to take yours on safe ones as well. I can do drop in visits and overnights as well, thank you!! I am off for tbe summer so I have lots of time currently! I no longer have pets of my own anymore, so it's even easier for me to make space in my schedule. I have a yard but it is not fully fenced so pets would always be leashed. I no longer have any animals in my home.
“Rose is absolutely amazing! She stepped in on short notice to care for our two cats while we were at the hospital for our baby. Her response time was incredibly fast, her updates were thoughtful and detailed, and our kitties adored her. We cannot recommend Rose highly enough!”

“Sarah was terrific! Very kind and detailed with communication during visits. I appreciated her pictures too, my cat looked so happy! Would definitely recommend her services to anybody :)”

“Alexis does an amazing job with Sage, and is so excited whenever a drop in is scheduled! Sage is left fed & loved on when it’s time to go, but is always looking forward to the next visit, and we’ll continue booking! See you again soon!”

“Julie has been walking our 50 lb dog for several weeks and recently stopped over to feed and look in on both our dogs while we were away. I appreciate how communicative she is and she is so sweet with our dogs. Would definitely recommend her!”

“Emily was wonderful! She quickly put our pup at ease and I felt completely comfortable leaving him with her even though he has a bit of separation anxiety. Remy made a new friend and he was sad when she was gone!”

“I have a diabetic cat who's afraid of everyone and requires insulin injections 2x a day. I have not been able to find anyone willing to take on this challenging situation, until I found Cassie on Rover. I swear she can walk on water and is a cat whisperer. She took the time to come and watch me do a glucose test and insulin injection before the first trip I've been able to take in 7 yrs , knowing she would take good care of Punkin. I was gone for 8 days and she came twice a day and Punkin didn't hide from her like she does with everyone but me. I could not recommend her highly enough and will definitely be planning longer trips, using Cassie without worrying my cat would suffer. If you want a sweet, reliable and caring cat sitter, you want Cassie on Rover.”

“I always trust Issana with my baby cat any time I'm in need of a sitter. My cat is well taken care of with her and Issana is so caring and attentive with him. 10/10 would recommend ❤️”

“Kim is attentive, reliable and incredibly responsive. Felt very very comfortable with her from the moment we met and knew Ashe would be in great hands. I'll definitely be requesting your services again next time I'm headed on a trip. Thanks for taking such good care of my stinka, Kim!!”

About: Hi! My name is Emma and I'm probably one of the biggest dog lovers you will ever meet! I started pet/house sitting when I was a teenager and have over 15 years of experience outside of Rover. I have never known life without a dog and I never want to. I've owned many different breeds of dogs throughout the years, varying from Elkhounds to Rat Terriers and Labradors to Corgis, I've handled them all. They have feelings and can get lonely at times, especially when their family is away. That's why I want to be a dog sitter, so your little (or big) one doesn't have to feel so alone. I look forward to hearing from you and your pooch soon! (: During the summer, my work is very flexible and the availability on my calendar means that I am available for the entire day. During the fall/winter I teach three days per week, Tuesday and Thursday in the late afternoon/early evening, and Saturday mornings. On those days I would be out of the house for no more than 3-4 hours. Committing to look after your pets means that I'm committing to fitting into their life and routine as much as possible. If your pet is not very active and just wants to be around me all day and cuddle, I am happy to do that. If your pet is a bit more aloof and isn't super into spending time with humans, I will not force them into hanging out with me. I prioritize your pets comfort and respect their boundaries, and yours. If you pet has a daily schedule or routine, I do everything in my power to stick to it, no matter how "ridiculous" it may seem! No routine or ritual is too complicated or "ridiculous" to me. Pets are members of the family and I treat them with that level of respect. I listen to them and pay attention to what they're trying to communicate. Reading body language and knowing how to respond is important when it comes to building trust and I always adapt to meet them where they're at. I am very attentive and observant, especially with pets I haven't worked with before, and pay attention to their habits and make note of any changes. I understand that some dogs may be anxious with new people and that can result in changes to their potty, eating, and behavioral habits, so I keep an eye on those to make sure they dont get worse. I am also very communicative so if anything concerning pops up, I will make sure to notify you.
“Ricardo was great! I needed help giving my cat medication 2x daily. He let me know when he was heading over and arrived on time. Olive did great with him, she was relaxed and cooperated nicely. 😊”

“Monica was fantastic - very communicative, understanding and playful with the pups. Even one of our kitties kept sneaking out with the pups and she was awesome with her. We will definitely continue to have Monica watch the kids during adventures!”

Axell is good vibes and cares for my car babies (both are 10.5 years old) as if they are his own. He’s kind, responsible and very detailed! Axell even caught that 1 of our water fountain motors were not working, notified us so we could order a new one and even went back just to see if there was anything that could be done to fix it. Got super lucky to have found Axell. Your babies, home and vibes will be lifted up and cared for with Axell.

Cassy is the best! She took great care of my 4 cats and household. We loved working with her. She is communicative, attentive to detail and super flexible. She sent us videos and photos everyday throughout our trip. We will not hesitate to have her again, she really cares about the kitties.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
