“Alison went above and beyond for our cats, while we were out of town. I had never used the app before and she made sure to update us every day giving us peace of mind. Will definitely request her services again in the future.”

“Rachel & Jens were fantastic. We reach out very last minute and they were super accommodating. We cannot recommend them enough. Very response and love getting the pup updates. Rest assure your furry friend will be taking care of when under their watch.”

“Kennedy was super helpful in dropping in to visit Hopper when I was out of town for a few days. She was reliable and communicative, will definitely be booking her again and would recommend!”

About: I've been a dog lover all my life and a dog owner for most of it. Most of my experience is with small dogs, but I haven't met a dog yet that I didn't love. I've read many books about dog behavior and training so I'm confident in my ability to cope with most situations. I've had a puppy, a geriatric dog, and everything in between, so I've experienced the entire continuum of dog aging and done everything from potty training to giving oral medicine. My schedule is flexible and I am home more than not so I'm almost always around to go for a walk or keep an eye on your pup. To misquote Benjamin Franklin "[dogs] are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy".
“My sweet boy is a handful, very reactive and has a hard time being over excited with new people but Emily handled him very well for their first meeting and he was very happy when he came home”

“This was our first time having Erin over to watch our cat while we were away. Erin was so welcoming and went above and beyond to care for our cat. She left very thoughtful check in reports and great pictures. I have no doubt I will be using Erin for all my future cat sits if she is available!”

“Emma was great. She's friendly, loving, and very easy to speak to. We had to cancel a visit due to last minute trip cancellation. Emma was very helpful and rescheduled the visit to a different date. Our cats seemed to love her.”

“Annie was an easy choice to take care of our two cats while we were away. From the start, she was responsive and flexible. She followed every care instruction, was respectful of our space, and importantly, was attentive to our girls. : )”

“Lexi was great! Came and let our Cortez out and got treats too (as a bargaining chip because he’s silly like that)! Definitely recommend her to come see your pup for the day for a walk/play/bathroom break!”

“Jana was great!! I totally forgot to give her access to my apartment and she patiently returned to my apartment a second time to make sure she could feed Sterling!”

“Awesome sitter. My dog and cat loved Brenda. I appreciate the detailed notes and photos during drop-ins. Easily the best sitter I've had the pleasure of booking with in the Capitol Hill area, and I hope to book her again in the future.”

“Leslie was extremely kind and did an amazing job taking care of my sweet kitty during the holidays. I was really happy with how attentive Leslie was to detail as well as consistent in her response time. She is easy to get ahold of and will be sure to keep you updated on how your pet is doing through her stay with them. If you are on the fence I would personally recommend Leslie to do the job, she will not disappoint. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job, Leslie!”

“Savannah took such great care of my three kitties!! She was punctual, communicative, and on top of all my cats’ needs. Will absolutely book her again and I’d recommend her to anyone with multiple cats!”

“Rumisha was absolutely amazing, the cats loved her she was super easy to communicate with. The house was spotless when I came back. Moose my orange cat even came out and played with her and he is usually so scared :)”

“Carly was amazing! Very flexible as I had to schedule the visits last minute. Excellent communication and she took lots of photos of my two boys! My one cat is very skittish and tends to hide around new people but he came out for her and let her give him pets! They clearly liked and trusted her. Very grateful to know they were taken such good care of while I was away. Will definitely use her again in the future!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Seattle
Morgan was a fantastic sitter for our two cats! We really enjoyed her write ups of how each visit went and the pictures that she sent. One of our cats ended up with a very poopy butt and Morgan was more than willing to clean our cat and even the mess she left behind. We are very grateful!

Annie was amazing! She took meticulous care of my two cats (went above and beyond and fixed their broken water fountain while I was out, kept the cats' mess as tidy as possible), sent me AMAZING pictures, and was a great communicator. I felt absolutely worry-free as she took care of my cats, and I would absolutely recommend her!!

Andy has been taking care of our kitties for quite some time now and we are so grateful for his continued care and diligence! One of our cats has cancer and needs ear medicine. She isn’t thrilled with the medication and Andy has been very persistent about making sure she gets it. Thank you for your patience and care!

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Seattle stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Seattle. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
