Information Jamie R. would like to know about your pet
For walks, does your dog pull or are they sensitive to any triggers outside, for example squirrels or other dogs? For dogs and cats, do they not want to be touched anywhere on their body? What is their reaction? For boarding and house sitting, do they have any behaviors like separation anxiety, chewing, resource guarding or excessive barking that I should be aware of? How are they with cats and other dogs? Anything else you'd like to share about your pet?
A typical day
I typically leave in the morning about 8-10am to take care of cats and dogs in their own homes, then return home typically by 3pm. Everyone will get a walk in the morning, when I get home, and then before bed. For cats that I'm taking care of while their people are away, I try to be there at the same time every day to give them a routine and something to look forward to each day. We'll play, enjoy as many pets and brushing as they like, I'll make sure they have food and fresh water, and a clean litter box, as well as administer any medications they may require. For dog walks, I typically start the walk time when I enter your home. I'll quickly get your dog ready for a walk, leashed and with any other equipment and treats they'll need. Then we'll enjoy a nice walk around the neighborhood, stopping to allow them to do their business, sniff, and enjoy the weather. Once our walk has ended, I'll send a report with pictures and include any important details like if they appeared to have an upset stomach, if they ate something they shouldn't, or if they had a strong reaction to something new or anything else that may come up unexpected. For boarding, I don't typically crate anyone while I'm away. I only accept one dog at a time. Everyone is welcome to share space, play with the toys, and hang out wherever they'd like in my home. There are plenty of beds to go around, toys, and a variety of bowls and puzzle feeders as well.

Honest, Reliable, Compassionate
Pet care experience
Every pet in my care receives all the love and attention they desire and need! Walks? Play time? Cuddles? Yes! Special instructions? No Problem! I have experience caring for seniors, including giving injections, sub-qu fluids, and pills - I try to lean towards cooperative care whenever possible to reduce stress in the animal and caregiver. This also applies to meeting new cats and dogs, I never force an interaction unless necessary for their care, but I'm also not against offering treats as a bribe! Treats are always good. Serving: Downtown, Capitol Hill, and the Central District neighborhoods only. I love all the kitties, kittens, special needs kitties, shy cats, social cats, playtime or cuddles or sitting nearby. For meet and greets with cats, we'll cover food, litter box, playtime/cuddles, and any special instructions. For the dogs! I can provide midday walks, with a special focus on decompressing and relaxation (it can be stressful being alone all day!), special enrichment and exercise, and or more structured and focused on going the distance kind of walks. Just let me know what you and your dog prefer! I'm an experienced pet sitter, with experience points earned in doggie daycare, overnight care, dog walking, cat and kitten care, and fostering. I'm knowledge in both canine and feline behavior, care, and enrichment. In my downtime, I'm either creating something with my hands, or working on my next short story. Spending quality time with all the dogs and cats is always a pleasure!

Reviews

Jamie is awesome, very thorough and understanding. She took great care of my cat, I much appreciate it.

Jamie is reliable and an amazing sitter every time!

Jamie is always wonderful! I know my cats will get lots of playtime with Jamie.

Helpful as always! She even went above and beyond and gave good advice on a difficult pet situation in addition to taking care of them.
