About: Hi! I'm Rachael! I've been casually pet sitting for friends, family, & acquaintances for several years, and happily care for pets like they are my own. I am a psychotherapist with a background in behavior analysis and education in animal behavior (my concentration in college!). I deeply care about the ethical and compassionate care of animals, and take very seriously the task of caring for your pets! I really enjoy being with animals, and feel obligated to ensure they are getting the maximum enrichment they can from our time together. I'm very attuned to pets and the sometimes subtle behaviors they use to communicate with us. I'm currently working remotely and often have large gaps in my schedule where I can drop in to feed your cats or take your dogs on a good, long walk! I'm usually only available for drop ins on weekends, but am happy to do overnights during the week. I focus on exercise, engagement, and safety of your pets, beyond the basics of survival. I know animals can take a long time to warm up, so I do my best to give them space while also offering moments to connect with me safely. I also know that choosing a pet sitter is vulnerable and risky, so I ensure thorough follow-through, engagement and kindness to help you feel confident in your time away from your pets!

About: I have been around animals my entire life. I grew up on a farm with every animal you can imagine. With that experience, I learned how to be nurturing, loving, and patient. Not to toot my own horn, but I have not met a dog or cat that does not like me. I have experience giving pets medication, as well. I work about 40 hours a week in the Fine Arts, but I set my own hours so I am pretty flexible. I do not have a car, but I always get where I need to go. I am very good at following directions and no one knows your pet better than you do. I like to think that I bring a calm cool and collected energy that pets can sense.

About: When I was a kid, me and my bestie were neighbors. We walked her dog together for years. I have been dog sitting for friends a lot. I have lived with a cat for 3 years, in the beginning it was my roommate’s ragdoll, and now my own Persian cat. I just finished an internship and waiting for the job offer to be available, so I am available all day. While taking care of my friends’s cat, I find myself enjoying this job. I used to be a biologist work in a laboratory, so I am very detail oriented and organized. I will keep your pets safe, as well as your home, always clean after use and lock the facility.

To name just a few: she brought extra treats and gifts for Jeri; she vacuumed / cleaned up the floor with the litter box; and her cards were thorough with lots of pictures (a genuine delight to read!).
