Hello! I’m a behavioral therapist and teaching artist based in Queen Anne, offering a calm, attentive, and experienced touch to pet care. While I’m new to Rover, I bring over 10 years of personal pet-sitting experience with a wide variety of breeds and personalities, from energetic puppies who need constant play to senior dogs who prefer a slow, gentle routine. Because I work from home most days, your dog will rarely be alone. I’m happy to accommodate high-energy needs with walks, jogs, or trips to the dog park, as well as provide quiet companionship for dogs who just need a little extra comfort. I’m also experienced with cat-sitting, having looked after everyone from friendly lap cats to highly independent felines who prefer their own space. My schedule is very flexible, so I’m open to both short-term visits and long-term arrangements. I’d love to hear about your pet’s unique needs and how I can help!

I truly enjoy spending time with animals. At this time I am not able to host animals in my space, but if I am spending time with them in your environment I am sure to be respectful of your space, and honor any needs or requests needed.

Marquicia was very friendly and responsive. Asked really good questions and sent lots of pictures of our dog sunbathing (which he loves). Was also a good guest in our home and kept it tidy. Overall I would recommend Marquicia’s services!

I can’t recommend Marquicia highly enough as a pet sitter. I’ve watched how they care for animals over the years, and it goes far beyond just making sure they’re fed and safe. They’re incredibly attentive and thoughtful about behavior, and their education shows in how closely they observe animals and respond to their needs. They don’t just watch pets, they actively think about their experience and how to make them feel comfortable, engaged, and cared for. Their own dog was exceptionally well cared for with high quality food, plenty of enrichment, and regular daycare, and that same level of intention carries over to every animal they interact with. They’ve been around both dogs and cats their entire life and are equally comfortable with both. They’re reliable, communicative, and strike a great balance between being structured and adaptable depending on what the pet needs. Honestly, they’re one of the few people I would fully trust not just to keep an animal safe, but to genuinely improve their quality of life while they’re in their care.
Marquicia has been a dog sitter for me for many years. She takes excellent care of each of my dogs, and sends lots of photos to keep me up to date. She walks them and spoils them and I trust her more than many other sitters.
