Animal lover

I have always been a cat owner but walked my neighbor's dog for 6 years (unpaid) because the owner never walked her. No exaggeration, never! He died suddenly after a fall and his daughter asked me to adopt her. I walked Darcy much more than I used to! We went many places, so much better than her previous life, spent mainly in the basement. I made her food in the crockpot so I knew exactly what the ingredients were. I miss having a pet so I'm happy to spend some quality time with felines or canines! My last cat lived almost 16 years when she got feline kidney disease and got very thin and weak. I like to walk around Seward Park. I wouldn't take your dog to the dog park unless requested since it is an unpredictable place. I would like to do a Meet 'n Greet before walking your dog, if possible. If your dog is very reactive to other dogs I will only walk him/her if they are under 20 lbs. I had some dog training through Bark Busters and also Puppy Perfecters. If you request that I be away from your dog for no more than two hours a day than I would charge an hourly rate of $15/hour. I am near the Genessee leash free park if your dog is okay going there (they have a separate small dog area). Update: I am starting to apply to adopt a dog so if it happens, your dog would have to be okay with being with another dog.

I have a fenced yard. If you are okay with the dog park, I would keep a constant eye on your dog and not be one of those people glued to my cell phone!

Carla came over for a meet and greet in advance and was accommodating with our timing given we had just moved. She was communicative and even brought over her own treats for our cats, one of whom was being scared in our new house so she calmed my nerves by spending extra time searching for him! She’s very friendly and clearly has a lot of experience with cats.

I am retired so I have time to spend with your dog or cat. I do have some volunteer commitments and now that the pandemic has eased a bit, I want to get out and enjoy the cultural riches of Seattle!

I would like to know if your dog is reactive to other dogs or people. How is your dog on a leash? Can they be offered treats or are they on a specific diet? I have a hard time feeding a dog a diet of only kibble since it's not usually good for them. If you are firm on that food, I might be tempted to spoil your dog. Rover doesn't break down the weight of the dog in a way that is useful to me. So unless the dog is over 5 years old, I want to limit dogs to 20 lbs or under.
