I’m a freelance designer and a bit of a digital nomad; I’m on the move in late afternoons and evenings. Since cats are nocturnal creatures — and I so am I! — I like to give them attention and food after the sun has set

About Carter L.
Communication
Safety, trust & environment
Every cat in your household gets their meal, 1:1 playtime, nail check-ups and paw cleanings. If desired or required I can facilitate brushing, teeth brushing, medications, and any dietary restrictions or particularities. I’ll need a fact sheet on each kitty and what they prefer. You’ll get a written update, pictures, and videos of your cats. I will scrub the location from furnished recordings and request permission before sharing to social media. I will clean and top off litter boxes, address any excess tracking or accidents that may occur over the interim, and vacuum fur-laden surfaces. I prefer a low-power pet fountain that ensures your cats get enrichment and 24/7 fresh water access. If you want me to bring one for the duration, let me know!

Information Carter L. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your cat has any specific needs or any preferences—from what type of physical contact they prefer to how best to play with them. Whether boarding or cat-sitting, I ask pet-parents to trim their cats’ claws—they are typically much less willing to have a manicure from a sitter! 😂 I usually ask pet-parents to bring important supplies from home (litter box, litter, food, water bowls or fountains, any important toys or cat beds, etc) I’ve found that when boarding kitties the more from home they have, the quicker they are to get comfy 😸 I do have all the necessary supplies if that presents a burden!
A typical day
I’m a huge fan of both cuddle-bugs and playful rascals. I have an assortment of cat toys and brushes for those long-haired felines 😹 I typically feed cats twice a day but will always defer to their unique dietary preferences. I clean litter boxes 2-3 times a day and clean food and water bowls every night—hygiene is pristine! I also aim to sanitize their litter box(es) before saying goodbye :)

Pet care experience
I’m quick on my feet, work across the temperament spectrum — from shy to vocal to reactive — and love to fill a cats’ day with enrichment and attention. I have experience administering medications to cats (both oral and injectable.) My home is non-toxic 🪴 with lots of hidey-holes for cats to get comfortable. I grew up in a household with a rotation of cats and dogs. As a first-gen, low-income student I regularly sat dogs and cats, large and small, for friends and families. When I rented my first apartment in 2019, I adopted my first cat, Woodstock. In 2020 we added Goob to the family, an older cat I treated for a type II diabetes diagnosis (insulin-dependent) and facilitated a weight loss regiment.
Reviews

Carter is reliable and goes the extra mile! He took care of my pair of cats again, giving them the love and attention they craved. Would definitely book again.

Carter is absolute best pet sitter! Our kitty is so happy and so well taken care of!! ❤️❤️

Carter was amazing and made what could have been a quick drop in, actual quality time with my sweet little guy. We are so grateful to Carter, they were such a friendly, warm presence for Bones before he practiced spending the night on his own! 🖤 thank you Carter!!!

We were so nervous about leaving our two cats at home for a week-long trip for the first time, but hiring Carter was the best decision we could have made. He is an absolutely phenomenal sitter! One of our cats has some pretty strict medical needs, requiring nightly heart medication and twice-daily supplements mixed into her food. Carter handled all of her extra care flawlessly. His communication was top-notch. His Rover cards were incredibly detailed, full of great pictures, and he gave us plenty of heads-up if we were running low on anything like cat food, litter, or trash bags. He was always on time and proactively let us know way in advance if his schedule shifted at all. On top of the amazing pet care, Carter went above and beyond with our house. He kept the litter boxes clean, vacuumed whenever things got messy, brought in our packages, and even went out of his way to fix a couple of poorly assembled chairs for us! If you're looking for someone reliable who truly cares, book him. He completely deserves every single one of his 5-star reviews. We came home to a clean house and happy cats, and we will absolutely be booking with him again.
