We had an excellent experience with Erica! She was reliable, attentive, and clearly genuinely cared about our cats. We received thoughtful updates and photos, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Our cats were happy, relaxed, and well cared for when we returned. We will absolutely book again with Erica and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and kind sitter.

Samantha was wonderful and did a great job checking in on our little 10 yr old cat Obie. This was our first time using her and she was very quick to respond to my inquiry. Samantha was courteous, polite and very consistent with daily updates on Rover without issue. Obie seemed to enjoy her visits and company as well!

About: I’ve been in love with dogs since I got my first golden lab at age 6 and haven’t looked back, I am extremely active, and love taking care, playing with and making sure they get plenty of exercise. Recently my 14 year old black lab passed away, she had many surgeries/health issues towards the end and I’m very experienced with older dogs as well as younger. I respect all client wishes and it’s imperative to me that you know your animal is being taken care of with the same care you’d give them. I am currently working part time, so I am available everyday after 1 pm, weekdays and weeknights, and my schedule is extremely flexible. I also walk twice a day as apart of my own routine, so it’s very easy to incorporate pets into my schedule. I have a fairly good sized backyard with 6 feet high fences, a two story home with plenty of space to crate your dog if needed. I also live less than one block away from an elementary school with a massive fenced in field, with plenty of room for your pet to run around in a safe environment.

Brooke is such a wonderful person and blessing to us. Brutus and I are so glad we found her. She takes great care of my best friend and it shows. I am hesitant to write this review, I’m not sure we can share her :) She’s easy to chat with, punctual and even gives my my guy his snackies before going out the door. We appreciate her and think she’s the best.

Bobbi took wonderful care of Isaac and Jefe while we were away. When we returned, both dogs were clearly happy and comfortable which says everything. She made sure Isaac received his medications on schedule and handled the extra work of cleaning up after Jefe (who isn’t fully house-trained) with patience and kindness. Even with a tight 30-minute window, Bobbi somehow managed to get everything done and fit in a couple walks. She truly had it down to a science. It gave us great peace of mind knowing the dogs were in such capable, caring hands. We're very grateful and would absolutely book with Bobbi again.

Sarah was absolutely wonderful with Senua. As well as being an incredibly kind person. She met my little guy where he is at with staying home while I am at work. Was flexible and super kind when we had our meet up. I was impressed with how attentive and caring she was towards my baby. And I deeply appreciated her experience with her own small dog. It made me feel even more secure leaving him with her. Even when he gave her a hard time she was able to stay cool and deal with some ‘pomittude’. I would love to have her work with him again and I know Senua would adore that as well. I highly recommend Sarah’s services. She’s got a great energy and is extremely caring of the dogs she works with.

About: I moved from Mi to Wa in 2015 and decided in 2018 to be a dog walker. That was in King county and after moving to a house in 2021, dog boarding turned into my new side job. Last year I also enrolled in Victoria Stilwell’s Academy for positive training. So I am very aware of dog’s body language and needs. I absolutely love dogs and they are truly my life now but when I was 8 that wasn’t the case. I was bit in the face by a family friend’s dog. He was old and on medication, I startled him awake which led to him biting me. From this incident, I watched Victoria Stilwell on animal planet to get over my fear of bigger dogs and here I am today with a certification in dog training and starting my career with human’s best friend. My goal is for you and your dog to be as comfortable as possible. I only treat dogs/pets as I would want someone to treat mine (and believe me I am a high maintenance pet mom 😉) Dogs are my job. Whether it is boarding, sitting, or walking; this is what I do full time. Sometimes I do Instacart to get out a bit but will do that when my boyfriend is home. I am starting up my bath bomb business again so to have a companion working alongside with me is my ideal work day. My boyfriend works from home majority of the time, so there is always someone home. His kids do come over 50% of the week and are very kind and helpful with dogs that are boarding with me. They are 12 and 11 so they aren’t little kids. I have lick mats, Kong Gyro, and plenty of space for your dog to have fun at my house. My house is fenced in, we are updating the property all the time to make sure it is safe as possible. For larger dogs, I have a bell on a ziptie to put on your dog’s collar just so I can hear where they are at all times when I am outside with them. For smaller pups, I always go outside with them due to being in an open area so they are safe. I also have a 30’ leash that I can hook them to for extra safety. Inside, I make them as comfortable as possible. Whatever they like at home I try my best to provide at my house.

We were lucky to get Noelle to take care of our two cats while we were away for Thanksgiving! She followed our instructions to a T - came in the right time window, made sure they were both OK, sending us pictures while we were gone, etc. She even managed to track down our elusive shy kitten for pictures. A+, would book again! Thanks Noelle!

About: My first love was a German Shepherd at age 3, a gift from my grandfather. Since then I have taken care of many dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and other small fur friends all my life. I am a Forever Foster Mom for small dogs above age 8 for Old Dog Haven and right now take care of one small 15 year old fur friend named Tinker. I also have a 9 year old rescue Golden-doodle named Ava. I love taking care of small Dogs and Kitties (in your own home) so much I do not consider it work! I love taking care of your fur friend while you are at work or enjoy a vacation. I prefer small sized dogs up o 26 lbs. who get along with kitties and are non-aggressive. Oh, and we have a rescue Love Bird named Puffy who absolutely loves talking to visitors from his own "house" smile.. I enjoy meeting you and your furry family member and will take care of them excellently for you. Thank you for choosing our family!

This is the first time we have used this site for pet sitting. We chose Sasha ans Alex for drop-in visits three times a day with some specific instructions on feeding and care. Sasha and Alex nailed it perfectly. Out pets have never been left alone over night without someone in the house. Sasha and Alex cared so well for our pets for the three days that they created a new routine that all three kiddos. We hope to use Rover and especially Sasha and Alex again in the near future. They are phenomenal. Thank you Sasha ans Alex

My pets are my family and I'm super particular when it comes to them. I have a 9 month Mali puppy and so it's really important who comes around her at this age. As such, leaving them is hard for me because that's always on my mind. Long story short - If Kevin had more availability, I would be doing a lot more traveling lol. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in University Place choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in University Place with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
