“Alyssa took great care of our 5 month old puppy. As it was our first experience with dog sitting, we were a little nervous, but Alyssa’s knowledge and calm energy put us at ease. Our dog had a great stay and we appreciated the pictures and updates. We will definitely book again with her!”

“Ethan and his dog Nico took great care of Yonder! I received updates and very good photos all day while he was in Ethan’s care. Yonder came back absolutely exhausted from playing in the yard. Thanks Ethan!”

About: Hi there, my name is Noelle! I’ve been working with animals my whole life, by helping my mother with her pet sitting business, to taking care of my own creature babies. I have experience with small/medium dogs, cats, and exotics such as reptiles and birds. I’m not squeamish around bugs either if you happen to have creepy crawly friends! I took care of my beloved family dog, Daffy for 14 years until her passing. I have experience with elderly dogs such as giving them medicine, frequent potty breaks, etc. I have a Russian Tortoise named Gaia, I’ve had him for about 6 years now! I also have a Siamese mix named Millie, so I’ve had my fair share of live in pet experience. I currently work from home on my computer and can take breaks whenever needed to give your pet attention. My job doesn’t have a schedule, so I can be there pretty much whenever you need me! I excel at following written/verbal instruction, just tell me what your babies need, and I will follow to the letter. More information is always welcome!
“Matt was great with my little guy. He has a large yard for dogs to run and play. My job ran increadibly late the day Matt watched my dog and he was kind enough to let him stay overnight and got up super early for my initial drop off. Will definitely use him again next time I am in need. Thanks Matt!”

“Kana was so great with Koda. I was anxious about leaving him because he has a big man complex and I was worried about how he would get along with the other dogs but Kana reassured me he’d be fine and gave me updates when I left.”

About: I love pets in general, especially dogs of all shapes and sizes. Although my home is their haven, we rarely spend time indoors when it's not raining outside. I've raised multiple Doberman Pinschers over the years starting at the tender age of 7 weeks and currently have one of my own, so I'm used to stubborn, energetic and messy dogs. I also provide supplemental training using positive reinforcement if a dog is still very young or experiencing behavioral issues that need to be corrected. I believe in treats/rewarding good behavior over correcting bad behavior. I'm firm when I need to be, but I'm never harsh. Lastly, I'm very sensitive to a dog's body language and verbal queues. For example, I can distinguish between anxiety and boredom or when a dog is excited vs aggressive. You won't regret leaving your companion in my care. They will always be treated like family! I opened up my own tech business a couple months ago and I'm currently working from home. I'm available to host, walk and/or check in on your fur baby any day of the week. While your loved one is at my place, they will be able to have the run of it. I’m currently in a 700+ sq ft apartment. There’s definitely room for comfortable walking/running back and forth and the yard right outside my back porch, although unfenced, is huge and allows for easy access to leashed exercising/potty breaks. I always have toys and treats they’re more than welcome to. If house sitting at your home, I’d follow whatever instructions you lay out for me as long as my own dog is able to tag along.
“We’ve been taking our puppy to Aliesha for a few weeks now and it’s been absolutely amazing. Our pup has very high anxiety and struggles in big daycares. Once we found Aliesha so much of our own stress has been relieved knowing Bruno is so happy at her place and his overall happiness has greatly increased. She provides enrichment activities, lots of yard playtime and even takes him to the nearby creek! I’m so grateful for her kindness to Bruno and for supporting him so well. HIGHLY recommend her for daycare!”

“Jennifer and Champ are the best! They are both so welcoming. My middle-aged Lab is usually somewhat mellow and indifferent, but when he arrived for his second visit at Jennifer's house, he was super bouncy and excited! Jennifer has a big fenced yard and she has transformed her house for ultimate dog-friendly comfort. She sent pictures and updates throughout his visit, and even printed a beautiful photo of him for me to take home. Jennifer is very responsive, quickly responding to my inquiries about scheduling and and answering questions. I knew my Nikko was in good hands and I felt 100 percent comfortable leaving my pup with her. I just hope she doesn't get too popular and busy!”

“I haven’t seen Potato this excited about a dogsitter in quite some time, so I’ll definitely be bringing her back again soon. Kathy and her husband took such wonderful care of Potato while I was at work for the week.”

About: Hi, I’m Sierra and I would love to give your pets the quality care they deserve! I am a huge animal lover with many years of experience working with animals. I am very responsible and clean whenever I am a guest in someone's home. I am also insured and bonded through Pet Sitters Associates. I have more than 5 years of professional experience working in overnight pet boarding & doggie day care facilities. I worked 2+ years at Paws Crossing Pet Resort and I also worked 3+ years at PetSmart PetsHotel where I was a supervisor. I have been petsitting full time for a little over 2 years now and I absolutely love it. See my photo gallery for pictures of all kinds of dogs I’ve worked with over the years! On top of my professional experience, I have volunteered at animal shelters, petsat for friends and family, and cared for my own 2 doggies Mugsy and Marley. Throughout my many years of experience I have worked with all kinds of dogs from energetic puppies to older dogs that need extra special care, and everything in between. I have worked with every size and breed you could think of. I have cared for cats and even bunnies too. I have been trained on how to safely administer many kinds of medications and injections if necessary. Because of my extensive experience working with animals I am confident I can keep your pets happy healthy and safe no matter the situation. I have been trained on how to recognize signs of stress or any other signs of concern, and if I notice anything worrisome I will contact you immediately so we can form a plan of action together if needed. Note: I do not bring my dogs with me when I petsit (unless your pets are friendly and want to have a play date we can possibly work that out!). My roommate takes care of my dogs for me when I am not home, which is why I have an extra fee for overnight stays of 3+ nights. If you have any questions about my pricing or anything else please reach out!
About: I’ve had dogs of all ages and sizes in my life since childhood. I’ve trained several dogs and am very patient and loving to all. I’m currently retired and can work with just about any schedule. Please contact me directly to arrange a time that works best for your pup. I have a fully fenced back yard and currently no animals of my own. Summer I spend most my time on my deck and in my garden. Your pup is welcome to join me. I have recently became a grandma and occasionally am a babysitter. Your pup must be loving towards toddlers to join us unless it’s a short stay that my babies won’t be joining. Contact me for additional scheduling. Thanks for understanding. Besides a few trips to the store or an occasional appointment I am home pretty much 24/7 so I’ll become your pups new bestie 😁 I have a fully fenced backyard. Because we have so many bunnies in our area when we build our fence we attached chicken wire to the bottom of the fence and buried the end in the dirt. So even the littlest of pups are safe!
About: Hi there! I grew up with dogs and for the last nine years, have been a mom to my beloved chiweenie named Fynn. Friends, family members, and clients trust me with their dogs, for both short and long term stays, and I’d love to care for your pup. Fynn is very active, so we do at least two long walks a day. I live in the North End, so frequently walk in Puget Park and am always happy to take pups to Point Defiance depending on exercise needs. Of course, if your dog needs more rest, I’ll take that into account as well. I have experience caring for senior dogs and administering medication. I am in academia and currently on my summer break, so I’m home most of the time. Your dog will rarely be alone. Please reach out! Can’t wait to hang with your pup! I work from home and have a flexible schedule. I am free on weekdays and weekends as needed, and am available for both shorter and longer term stays. I live in an apartment but take frequent dog walks and bathroom breaks as needed. I have a nine-year-old chiweenie named Fynn who loves other dogs and will be a great buddy to your pup. I’m close to parks and Point Defiance so your dog will get plenty of exercise!
“Was very convenient and Kate kept in touch throughout the process. We were in an area we didn't know very well so it was a relief to get to Kate's house and see such a clean area for the dogs to play. It was awesome and she took our pup for just 3 hours while we attended a brunch. I would use her again but we live in AZ.”

About: I love being around dogs. I’ve had them my whole life, and for the last 14 years I’ve raised my own—from puppy days all the way to senior care. My current dog is a total ball of energy, so I trained him to run with me while I bike, which has made me super patient and good with active pups. Dogs staying with me get a big yard to roam and a trail close by for walks or runs. I’m comfortable adjusting to whatever a dog needs—lots of activity, slow strolls, or just some company. I work remotely so I'm able to do boarding anytime. I do occasional walks around the neighborhood. We have a park right behind our home with a great trail to walk. I'm pretty flexible with other pet care responsibilities and would love to discuss what your needs are. I live in a home with a big yard with my husband and our 7 year old blue heeler, Bruce. He would love to keep your fur baby company.
“Rose and her partner took excellent care of our senior pup Kiki and were great at accomodating her and our schedule. We received plenty of photos throughout the day too, and will be back next time we need a sitter!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - University Place
I feel so lucky to have found Chuck and Mary! I had a last minute need for a sitter for my dog, and they were willing to take him for the day. They are such kind people who clearly love animals, and they made my anxious guy feel safe and comfortable, which is such a gift. Plus their yard is the most amazing sniff park!

We’ve been taking our puppy to Aliesha for a few weeks now and it’s been absolutely amazing. Our pup has very high anxiety and struggles in big daycares. Once we found Aliesha so much of our own stress has been relieved knowing Bruno is so happy at her place and his overall happiness has greatly increased. HIGHLY recommend her for daycare!

My dogs ran into their home and were very happy. Within the first 30 seconds, one pup was ready for tummy rubs from Vonnie and the other was seeking attention from Kevin. They made us all feel comfortable before I left and they communicated with me during the day with a picture and note. I am planning more doggy day care and longer stays in the future! Thank you Vonnie and Kevin for caring and loving my dogs

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your University Place commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
