They were as welcoming as Tobi and her husband! On the day I dropped Toby off for his stay, he went right in without any nervousness, not even looking back at me. Tobi sent me updates with photos almost daily, and I could see Toby was blending right into the family (he slept on the bed with everyone at night.) I was a bit nervous, as I've never had to leave my cat alone for that long before. The meet-and-greet with Carrie alleviated all my worries! She was wonderful with our cat, and gave him so much love, attention, and play time while we were away. Her update reports were always detailed and lovely to read, and she sent tons of great photos with each report. Everything was clean when we returned home (cat box empty/clean, litter swept off the floor). Carrie was always on time for meet-ups, check-ins, key exchanges etc, and is the perfect person to have check-in on your pet! :) I'll definitely be reaching out to her again next time we need someone to check on our cat!”

About: My 18 year old Cairn Terrier has just left for doggie heaven. My home is lonely without him. He was my fourth dog, so I have a lot of experience caring for a furry friend. My rate is low because having to find care for my dog was a major issue when I traveled. It is worth mentioning that I will watch only ONE dog at a time. It must also be a SMALL dog based on the Rover size chart. I am retired, but love to travel. I think it would be unfair to adopt another dog while I am still intending to spend time away from home. It has been a long time since I have been without a dog in my life. I thought taking care of yours would be a good way to have a furry companion when I am home. This is another reason for my low rate. I have a big fenced yard and a lot of left over stuff from my dog to provide a warm welcoming environment for my client's pet.

About: I love pets in general, especially dogs of all shapes and sizes. Although my home is their haven, we rarely spend time indoors when it's not raining outside. I've raised multiple Doberman Pinschers over the years starting at the tender age of 7 weeks and currently have one of my own, so I'm used to stubborn, energetic and messy dogs. I also provide supplemental training using positive reinforcement if a dog is still very young or experiencing behavioral issues that need to be corrected. I believe in treats/rewarding good behavior over correcting bad behavior. I'm firm when I need to be, but I'm never harsh. Lastly, I'm very sensitive to a dog's body language and verbal queues. About: I have owned or cared for dogs my entire life, with the occasional rodent or scaled creature thrown in. Hopefully not at the same time. I’m comfortable with basic wound cleaning as well as administering medication. After a period working in a pet store I’m also more skilled in ear cleaning, breathing treatments, and temperature taking than I’d care to be. Work situation changed so I’m more open to daytime walks and drop ins. I also keep a weird sleep schedule so if you need a late night drop in or walk, hit me up. Update: I did recently get a dog. He’s a young doodle and prefers to chew on my hair and hands more than toys, but gets along well with other dogs. He sure everyone wants to be his friend. He is young, potty trained and a great playmate. So right now the only way I’m able to sit is if your dog would like new bestie. I am unable to care for pets in my home. I live with my niece and her cat can be a little…stabby, for lack of a better word. In your home, I’ll be following your lead. I do tend to go outside with dogs at night, even with fenced yards. I am always wary of bobcats and coyotes looking for water and snacks. I’m also perfectly comfortable with a pile of animals sleeping in bed with me so if that’s what your animals prefer, I’m here for it.

About: I grew up caring for small dogs, large dogs, chickens, cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs… we lived on 4 acres, surrounded by other family members in the neighborhood, and I love all of the animals! I'll take 'em cute, crotchety, pudgy, feathered, or furred. :) I have regularly cared for pets of family, friends and business connections, in their home, or mine. I've seen my own pets through old age, and the related medical needs that come with that, so administering medications (oral, subdermal, dermal) doesn't phase me. Note that extensive medication schedules may result in added costs. I work hybrid, primarily, so there's ample flexibility in my schedule to match up with your needs. Since 2023, I work 4-6 hours/day, with a local company (I get to choose my shifts). All these little pieces can be moved around, to make a schedule that fits your pet's care needs. :) Primary Service Areas: Gig Harbor, Fox Island, West Tacoma, North Tacoma/Stadium District, Ruston, Central Tacoma, Fircrest, Steilacoom, North University Place Secondary Service Areas: Golden Given Rd, Waller Rd, Parkland (near PLU only), Olalla, Port Orchard -Out-of-area costs will apply for secondary areas. -Be aware that there are certain neighborhoods that will be excluded, in Tacoma, as a personal safety choice. I'm tidy, bring most of my own groceries (I appreciate it if you provide coffee, tea, cream, sugar, salt, pepper and cooking oil), and I love to bring healthy (approved) treats, and toys, for your pets. My Place: I live alone, in a 1 bedroom place, that I own. I have a few construction projects going, so it's not currently available for boarding, but I hope to have that service in the future. At my place, there's ample room for a small dog, cat, bunny or bird. A dog will be walked 3-5 times/day, depending on their needs. There are dog and cat treats, dog toys, cat toys, and a scratching post, here.

He’s fairly high energy and they always make sure he gets some time at the dog park 🙂 They also ensure that we have tons of pictures and text updates which I appreciate so much!”

Her dog Bruce is very well trained and got along great with my dog, who’s more interested in human friends than other dogs. She was able to administer his medication with no issues and kept the pups happy and active. She’s reliable, communicative, and took great care of Tex. I will definitely board my dog with her again! :)”
