About: We have both taken care of pets since we were young! I (Alexa) have grown up with furry friends my whole life, and I LOVE all animals (though I do have a soft spot for dogs). Connor has grown up with pets his whole life as well. We’ve pet sat for friends, family, and neighbors before, with all kinds of critters. Alexa has experience volunteering at local animal shelters, and has had the pleasure of listening to Lee Asher speak in person. We are also currently the owners of a small dog, a big dog, and a very mischievous cat. We are both very well equipped to care for animals anywhere from a mouse to a horse. Your babies are in wonderful hands with us. I (Alexa) currently work as an EMT, which means I work only 7-8 days per month. That leaves plenty of time to go wherever duty calls! Connor gets his work schedule week by week, but normally has Fridays and Saturdays off. We are willing to house/pet sit for you, walk your animals, and do daily checkups for you as well. In a clients home, we will respect your space and only do what is necessary. You can count on us to make sure your furry friend has all that they need while you are gone, in the safety and security of your own home.

About: Trustworthy, Reliable & Attentive Care for Your Pet and Home 🐕🐈🏡 . I had two dogs growing up in the South Sound area 🐶🐶, have done some wonderful house and pet-sits which resulted in 12 out of 12 Five-Star reviews from a leading global house-sitting platform. You can see screenshots of these reviews in my photo gallery! Let me know if you’d like me to share my many excellent professional work references and 40+ positive Airbnb reviews. . While I used to pet sit while traveling with my teen daughters, I now operate strictly as a solo sitter/ walker, and will be the only person providing care for your pets and visiting your home. . As a UW-Seattle graduate, former sales and marketing executive, and current online business owner / remote worker, I bring absolute respect, clear communication, professionalism and mature responsibility to your home. I’m a clean, quiet, middle-aged gal who doesn't smoke, drink or (heaven forbid) do drugs. . I’m keen to supplement my income with something active and fun that I love doing but this time, for my own local community... taking care of adorable pets! 🐱🐶 . What I’d Love to Offer Your Household: . 🐶🐱 Attentive Pet Care: I’ll treat your pets like family, making sure they get plenty of love, walks, play, and that their daily routine is followed. Even shy, sensitive and senior dogs and cats take a shine to me. . 🏡 Respectful Home Care: I am tidy, follow directions well, and will always respect your space. I’m happy to handle daily household needs like watering plants, bringing in mail/packages, and taking out the garbage. I pride myself on leaving pet sit homes in the exact same condition I found them if not better. . 📱Regular Communication: I’m happy to text you updates and send photos of your favorite cuties regularly so you can be rest assured that they are doing well in my care. 💬📸🐶🐱 . 💊 Medical Needs: I have experience administering medications and handling unexpected situations (like vet visits) calmly and efficiently. . 🚙 Active Adventures: If you would like me to, I’d be happy to take energetic dogs to local trail outings or the nearest dog parks to get their wiggles out and socialize. The back of my SUV is clean and animal ready. . 🗓️ Schedule & Routine: For overnight sits, I’ll stay in your home so your pets feel comfortable in their own environment. My schedule is flexible, but a few days a week I step out for mid-morning local errands and appointments that take no more than 6 hours maximum. Outside of those hours, your pets will have my full attention. Because I run an online business, I will often be working on my laptop right at your home while your pup snoozes at my feet or your cat snuggles on my lap. . I look forward to having a Meet-and-Greet to ensure we are a perfect fit for a happy, comfortable sit! 🗓️ For pet/house sits, I provide dedicated overnight care in your home so your pets can feel comfortable in their own environment while you are away. I will enjoy spending my evenings playing with your pets, or we can snuggle together and watch a dog or cat-friendly flick on Netflix! . My schedule is flexible, but a few days a week I step out for mid-morning local errands and appointments that take no more than 5 or 6 hours maximum. Outside of those hours, your pets will have my full attention. Because I run an online business part-time, I will often be working on my laptop right at your home while your pup snoozes at my feet or your cat snuggles on my lap. . I'm also available for dog walking and drop ins from 9am to 7pm to check on your cuties and take care of their needs. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. Over 12 pet owners have rated me 5 stars (on another platform... see photos)) and praised me for providing trustworthy and safe care as well as keeping their homes clean and respected. . When house sitting, I ensure all doors and gates are securely locked at all times, food and hazards are kept out of reach, and dogs are always kept on a secure leash during walks. I’m highly observant of any changes in a pet's energy or appetite, and I keep owners updated daily with photos and messages. Please view screenshots of my verified reviews directly in my photo gallery! =) . For peace of mind, I highly recommend an in-person Meet & Greet before our first scheduled service. This helps establish a great rapport between us and, most importantly, between me and your pets. That way, I’m already a familiar face to your fur babies when I arrive for the sit, and we can start off on the right paw! . I am glad to care for well-behaved large dogs! I am comfortable walking a single large dog that might pull a bit, but to ensure safety, I prefer not to walk two strong pullers simultaneously. I had a frustrating experience once trying to use those silly backpack harnesses / leashes on my human twins when they were toddlers and they tried to run in opposite directions at the Puyallup Fair or kept going around my legs so I couldn’t walk 😂

My name is Porgi the Corgi and I love my new friend Karen! She took me to my favorite playground; PLU campus. She can keep up with me better than my mahm's wheelchair. I'm super happy and ready for afternoon naps! Oh, yeah, mummy likes her, too. Kind, fun, friendly, and all kinds of nice words. ?

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 20. I have personally had 9 dogs, 2 of which are still living. They are a German Shepherd and a mixed hound. I also foster dogs from time to time. I am comfortable with dogs of all ages, with dogs that need any special medication, as one of my dogs was a diabetic and blind. Also, I am comfortable with dogs that have aggression issues, as long as we work out how to address them before your dog stays with me, and no one gets hurt. Two of my German Shepherds have aggression issues that I had to work through. A little about me: I am going back to get my master's and teach. Currently, I am substitute teaching, and we undergo a very thorough background check, including fingerprints and a check with the FBI. I am willing to provide long-term boarding for deployments or similar situations. That is the case; we can discuss the details and the long-term care rate. I have a very large fenced yard that gives the dogs plenty of room to run and play. It is 1/3 of an acre. I have radiant heat in the floors of my house, and most of the time, the dogs lie on the nice, warm floor. I do have a camera in the backyard. I can give you access while your dog is staying here with me. :) I’m sorry, I cannot take any more neutered dogs. The few I have had have been working all over my house, and it doesn’t matter how much cleaning you do, or how special the treatments are, they don't work. It’s a big problem with unneutered dogs. I do hope you consider neutering your dog. I am currently working to go back and get my masters and education to be a teacher. I am available all days right now and flexible on times. I have a large yard that is fully fenced with a 6 foot fence. I treat pets as part of my family but keep them well behaved and mannered. I have fostered dogs before too, and I always try to meet the dog where they are at whether they are stressed, fearful, or have a lot of. For example, if they need a lot of exercise we go on walks and play several times a day. I find a happy dog is a happy life.

About: Ive taken care of animals of all kinds, from domestic to farm animals since I was very young. Ive loved with small dogs and cats most of my life, but absolutely adore your big dogs! I look forward to helping you. Im currently unemployed, and will be going back to school full time this September. I have absolutely nothing but ample time to dedicate to taking care of the animals in my house. I currently live with three cats and love to assist in cleaning their boxes, making sure e erodes fed properly, and playtime. Even pet needs something different. That being said, it's very easy to address any pets needs. Some pets need special food, some need to put on a jacket when they go outside, some need to be separate from any and all other animals. Whatever your pet needs, I can provide.

About: I have experience with cats, dogs, and even horses. I've grown up with cats and dogs so I am used to checking the litter box, water, going for walks, and more. I also believe growing up with animals has given me a personal understanding of how important it is to have a good pet sitter, for your pets as well as you. Every day I take care of our family dog by either taking him to the park (about 3 times a week) or for a walk around the neighborhood, I also feed breakfast to all the animals if they still need it, as well as checking the water bowl. I also try and give them some play time everyday, either one on one or as a group if they are feeling extra playful. When pet/house sitting I feed breakfast and dinner, at a set time if needed. I also refill waters and give treats if it is given the okay, or just an extra part of their schedule. For example, I looked after a dog who got a carrot as a treat after breakfast. I can also put animals in crates if desired.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lakewood. On Rover:

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
