Our backyard is secure and fully fenced, for potty break access and play time. We live in Three Tree Point neighborhood in Burien with plenty of areas for walking.

I work from home and I have a lot of time for pets. I love them all and try to give them everything they need and more, love, comfort ,fun and attention. Every guest pet becomes a member of our family. You can go about your life, rest assured that your doggy is save, happy and in good company .

Nerd Needs Four-legged FriendsMercer Island, WA

I am a full time dog care professional available for training, boarding, drop-ins, walks, and day care. I consider myself first and foremost a dog trainer, so during any of our interactions, you can be sure your companion will get lots of personalized attention and love, and that they will learn something, too!

I'm a member of The Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and I am simulation engineer and data scientist with about 10 years of experience. I'm currently working on a research project that hopes to use machine learning to improve dog training. In many cases, when we think of training we think of turning a bad dog into a good one. I specialize in making good dogs great by using a quantitative framework and scientifically backed methods with the goal of creating improved canine citizens.

My goal is to be a knowledgeable trainer for common behavioral issues. We will work to improve the reliability of basic commands such as come and stay, practice their ability to be calm while on leash, and to have good manners around people and other dogs. If you're interested, I hope to give you more confidence in having your companion off leash and under voice control in a variety of situations. And of course, you'll get daily photos and updates on how much fun they're having.

Comfort & Quality Time!West Seattle, Seattle, WA

You and your pet can still enjoy life while you are away! Give your dog a comfortable and safe environment while you can't be with them and enjoy your time while you miss them.

Individualized care for your dog's needs and interests! West Seattle retreat with a yard and dog friendly environment. I want to make your dogs smile as much as I can while you are away.

Matt

About this sitter:

Hi I'm Matt B. As someone that loves to travel, I understand the mixed feelings when it comes to leaving your dog behind. I've been taking care of dogs my whole life and know how to make them feel comfortable when they're missing their owners. Lots of exercise, positive reinforcement and lots of places to lay around. I can take care of all kinds of dogs and their different conditions. And while you're away I'll send you plenty of photos of your best buddy!

Why I love dog sitting

I was born a dog lover. You couldn't stop me from petting or playing with any dog in sight! Life without dogs would be so different.

Meet my pets

I have a gentle giant named Thurston.

He loves all dogs big and small and always finds a way to be friends no matter their personality or disability.

Thurston is a 1 year old Irish Wolfhound Goofball.

About my yard

I have a fenced yard that is strong but temporary while I build my final fence.

I am always out there with the dogs and have had Great Danes and escape artists with no problems. It's a fun yard and will be getting better.

My experience administering medication

I can administer most medications and watch your injured dogs to.

Loving Pet Parent to All FurbabiesSouth Delridge, Seattle, WA

Our family lives in West Seattle and includes John, Erica, Kiddos 11 & 14, Clancy (a 11 year old 50 pound Springer Spaniel/Red Heeler mix), Noodle Love Nugget (2 year old Chihuahua), Oreo (6 month old kitty) and our latest addition 14-year-old Jake the quarter horse who lives offsite. (Our sweet kitty Bella Baby Kitty crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2017 and we adopted Noodle in her name.) We are extremely active and live and play hard. Clancy, Noodle, Oreo and (RIP Bella) are rescue animals who have made a wonderful addition to our family. Jake is a sweet boy who loves to see the girls when we visit, ride him and give him treats. Clancy enjoys playing with friends in our private fenced in dog park, patrolling our fenced in front yard, chase, wrestling/keep away with friends and playing with his toys and snuggling. Oreo is being raised as a dog. He is kennel trained and LOVES to wrestle and play with his big brother Noodle. Clancy, Noodle and Oreo love to play chase and tag up and down the hallway. Noodle is very eager to make new friends but due to his dainty 5.2 pound size we are cautious with introductions. (Both Oreo and Noodle are available to play with suitable sized visitors, otherwise they are kept separately for their safety.)

John and I grew up with pets of all varieties and our family would not feel complete without all of the joy that they add. John and I would welcome a visiting canine family member who can play well with our existing family members. However, we understand that some pets would like to stay in their own homes but get visits and playtime. We are very flexible and could accommodate a variety of arrangements.

In addition, we can provide drop ins for any type of pet siblings who are more comfortable staying at home, as well as their canine brothers and sisters. Although I have selected a preference for altered dogs, I understand that depending on age they may not of been altered yet. If your pet falls into this category, please let me I know so that I can determine whether we could proceed with a stay. I also offer boarding discounts for repeat boarding customers, discounts for siblings and our prices are negotiable depending on your situation. If this sounds like an ideal fit for you, please do not hesitate to contact us. :)

About Erica:

I have always been an avid animal lover. I grew up with Dachshunds, kitties, a goat, fish, mini turtles to name a few. I love them all!!! :) In addition, I was an equestrian throughout middle school and high school and was responsible for the care of several horses. John and I also have a ten year old daughter Miranda, who has been raised to love and respect her animal siblings as well as to participate in their care. The children and I are currently pursuing our mutual love of horses by taking riding lessons together. (They are taking Western and I am taking English lessons.)

Why I love dog sitting

I have had canine family members all of my life. Before we adopted Clancy, I had Dachshund babies, a Flat Coated Retriever and Kitties. I love how all fur babies constantly express their joy of life with their goofy individual personalities.

Meet my pets

Clancy (a 11 year old 50 pound Springer Spaniel/Red Heeler mix)

Noodle Love Nugget (a 2 year old 5.2 pound Chihuahua)

Oreo (6 month Kitten)

Jake (14 year old Quarter Horse who lives off-site)

About my yard

We have a triple gated private dog park, and a fenced in front yard. Clancy and friends enjoy frequent squirrel patrols, and galloping rounds of chase and keep away. I separate dogs by energy levels and by temperament. Some want to run all day and others want to lay in the sun. I assess the fit upon arrival and place them with friends who are best suited. Our goal is that all visitors are treated like family and have an amazing visit. :)

My experience administering medication

Sure, no problem since I have had to do it with my own pets. I have experience giving oral, topical and injected medicines.

Dog Haven of Des MoinesDes Moines, WA

Covid-19 notice: We are currently taking several measures to keep all of us and you safe during drop off & pick up of your pets. We will share the details before your drop off dates. Thank you for staying safe.

Dog Haven is located just 10 minutes from SeaTac Airport. WE SPECIALIZE IN 5 LB TO 25 LB DOGS). Dogs must be at least 2 years old.

We send photo updates all during our guests stay, as often as you would like to see them. We are devoted to providing a healthy and happy home for our own pets, but limit our ownership to three dogs. Our passion for happy dogs goes way beyond just three ... we provide that "home away from home" confidence that a dog owner needs. We strive to provide our clients with a worry free separation from their 4-legged family member. Basic "positive" dog training helps to make for a happy dog.

60 years of dog ownership! My first dog came when I was 5 years old. My father was a black Labrador bird dog breeder. That was the start of a life-time love of dogs. The sad part of getting a little older is that you out-live them. Buster, my Labrador until I was 18; Joey, a cocker spaniel until old age; 3 rescued German Shepherds during my 20's. until we found great forever homes for them. That was the start of our rescue history. 2 Yorkshire Terriers until old age - the oldest was Gonzo that lived past 15 years; Moki, a black Cocker Spaniel that was the love of our son's life until old age. Then a steady stream of rescues that we nursed through illnesses until healthy or until they passed. A Great Dane named "Dane" had a short life of 11 years.. which broke our hearts so we went back to caring for rescues. Last but not least our sweet Jackson - our Miniature Schnauzer for 13 years - passed recently from cancer and my darling Merlin - golden Shih Tzu - almost 15 years old - passed recently of old age. Every dog deserves kindness and a loving home. Our family always knows that their pets have a "home away from home" when they leave for vacations.

We do not have any pets other than our 3 dogs.

We have a large completely fenced back yard, large cement patio area for running, and a large flat lawn for play. an abundance of washable & durable dog toys.

We are experienced with administering medication. We have nursed several rescues with illnesses. We are comfortable with cooking their food if necessary as well.

We offer pickup & drop off services to local senior residents of Des Moines, Normandy Park/Kent for seniors that o longer drive.

Full Time Loving Experienced CareLeschi, Seattle, WA

Formerly a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind, now spending my days dog sitting adorable pooches! I am home full time and am a responsible mom, dog owner, dog sitter, and dog lover. My home has lots of space and a large, completely fenced yard. ****Dogs in my care are non dominant, exhibit no aggression ever, have excellent house manners, have calm and easy going personalities, and are not high energy. If you think your dog is the perfect fit, please keep reading.

About me: I am certified to raise puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind and I began dog sitting over 10 years ago for friends, neighbors, and through word of mouth referrals.

I've been a Rover sitter for over 6 years! I've completed hundreds and hundreds of dogs sits through Rover and have met so many incredible dogs and people.

I'm home full time and caring for the dogs is my top priority and focus. I tend to their every need, walk them twice a day, snuggle them, play with them, fluff their bedding, and take them to the backyard to play and run around. If I ever need to run out, my husband works from home and will be here to keep the dogs company. Your dog will almost never be left alone! Sometimes once or twice a week, for 2 to 4 hours we leave the dogs alone to go out on a date. Otherwise, one or both of us are with the dogs. (If we do leave, your dog must be ok not to bark or stress out). I send daily updates, photos, and videos so you can feel connected to your beloved pooch and know how they are doing on their vacation with me. Check out my pics of dogs recently in my care on this rover page or on my instagram @ seattledogsitterlife.

About my dogs - one of our beloved labs passed away a few months ago at the age of 12. So very sad. Our other lab is now 11 years. He is super mellow and spends most of his time sleeping. He gives our Rover guests plenty of personal space and our home environment is quiet and peaceful - except during the always exciting meet and greets, and when someone is entering our home ;) He does great with puppies and dogs of all sizes, as long as the dog is calm and not dominant.

A day in the life: up around 7:30. Dogs relieve, eat, and rest or quiet play time. Then morning walk, 30 to 40 minutes. Then home to rest, play, nap, chew bones, etc. Dogs relax at my feet while I am on the computer or baking, cooking, etc. Excursions to the backyard as desired throughout the day. Sun on the back deck, roll on the grass, sniff plants, find sticks to chew. Exploration and stimulation, in a very quiet and relaxed setting, always with me close by. Then dinner and another 30 to 40 minute walk, followed by evenings at home. Potty breaks are frequent throughout the day - every hour or couple of hours since we are almost always at home and the dogs can go out as often as they like. Last potty break is around midnight. Constant companionship and 2 walks everyday, rain or shine and plenty of potty breaks and backyard time. (Older dogs like mine, take their walks slower and enjoy more sniffing. Younger dogs get walked longer and faster. Care is personalized for what your dog needs).

My experience & training - My husband and I are both HIGHLY experienced with every aspect of dog care, training, safety, and supervision. As volunteer puppy raisers, my husband and I, are trained and certified by Guide Dogs for the Blind. This certification required home visits and in person testing and training. We participated in WEEKLY dog training and handling classes for 5 years, so literally hundreds of dog raising/training/safety classes and workshops. We raised 2 guide dog puppies from 8 weeks old to 16 months for this amazing organization, as well as caring for and helping train numerous other guide puppies for shorter durations.

As puppy raisers, we learned how to best interact with dogs, how to keep them safe, how to socialize them, and how to teach them basic skills and desired behaviors through positive reenforcement and consistency. Our dog training and handling skills were constantly being evaluated, critiqued, and held to the highest standards.

We are dog experts and know how to keep dogs safe and happy. We don't feed people food to dogs or feed dogs at our table, we have high value freeze dried dog treats to share at appropriate times and dog toys that are durable and safe for dogs.

Second home and part of our family - we treat our guest dogs just like we treat our own adored pups, with lots of love and individual attention and like true family members with individual needs and feelings. Your dog's safety and happiness is our top priority - always. I will care for your pups exactly as you request. I care for my dog and generally another guest dog or 2, my time centers around caring for the dogs and making sure they are comfortable, happy, and stimulated with exercise, affection, and individual interaction. In over 10 years of dog sitting I have never canceled a dog sit on anyone, ever.

I have clients that leave their dogs with me for long stays of 6+ weeks at a time and other guests that consistently leave their dogs with me for 10 + weeks every year - year after year. A few of my guests have spent over 56 weeks - and counting - in my care over the past few years. Many clients check my availability before booking their vacations. Some clients have moved away, but still return to Seattle to leave their dogs with me when they travel. My guests are truly extended family members that I love and look forward to seeing every visit!

Regarding boarding rates - they are for 24 hours of care. If you need additional time, an additional fee will be charged. I try to be flexible with drop offs and pick ups and allow them between 8am and 10pm. If you need to drop off before 8am (or 9am on a weekend), then please book the night before your trip or if you are coming home after 10pm, please book the additional night. If your dog has some special needs or is a younger puppy we can discuss and increase the rate if needed.

My calendar - if the dates you are interested in show as unavailable, feel free to double check with me, I may still have space available for a dog that is an excellent fit for us.

Why I love dog sitting - I love dogs, I love using the dog skills I spent years developing, and I love providing a service that allows traveling dog parents to have peace of mind while their dog enjoys a fun and safe vacation in our home.

My yard - doggy paradise, perfect for both play and relaxation and the dogs have access to it all day, as frequently as they like - under my watchful eye. We are on a rare double lot - 6000 square feet. Our yard is completely fenced - fence height varies - low end is 39" and high end is 6 feet and landscaped. We do not leave dogs unsupervised in the yard, ever. Many of the photos on my profile show the dogs playing, sunning, or running in our backyard - we have grass, paved patio, wood deck, shade areas, sun areas, flowers, trees, shrubs, and lots of places to explore and sniff - all off leash and in a relaxed environment, where they can enjoy nature and truly experience an outdoor vacation that is rare for the urban dog.

Need a puppy expert? I am one. Also, my labs are very gentle with puppies and will help to socialize and model good behavior, if your puppy is calm, not high energy and neutered/ or spayed if over 6 months, please feel free to reach out.

My experience administering medication: I have given pills and administered ear drops and have given insulin shots.
