“Highly recommend Daniel and Joelle’s family to anyone looking for a warm, responsible, and loving home for their pup. From the moment we met them during the meet & greet, I could tell how kind, genuine, and attentive they are. Daniel and his family truly love dogs and treat them like part of their own family. Daniel stays home full time, and there are usually at least two people home at all times, which gave me great peace of mind knowing our dog would never be left alone. One of their adult children has been dog sitting for years and is very experienced, and the other spent lots of time playing with our dog, which made him so happy. It’s wonderful to see how they all work together to make sure every dog gets plenty of attention and care. They kept me updated with photos and messages throughout the stay, took our dog on walks, and made sure he felt comfortable and loved while monitoring all the dogs closely. Our dog absolutely adored them and he gave everyone tons of kisses when we picked him up, which is his special way of saying “I love you.” Their own dog, Meelo, is such a sweet dog. Even though he’s blind, they’re very mindful and careful, introducing dogs slowly so everyone feels safe and at ease. I’m so relieved to have found such a kind and reliable family who will give our dog the same care and attention we do at home. About: Most people call me Josh. Dogs have always been my favorite animal and I've lived with them for most of my life. I am recently dog-free and I miss having dog energy in my house. I've raised two dogs through basic obedience to adulthood, one with a class, and one largely on my own. I am personally a big believer in the methods described in The Art of Raising a Puppy, because I have had excellent results with their techniques, but will of course prioritize whatever approach is preferred by owners. I am happy to help reinforce any basic obedience your dog may be working on, as well as senior dogs. I am comfortable with a wide range of dog breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Highly reactive dogs are not my favorite, but "highly reactive" can be subjective, so I will consider such dogs on a case by case basis. I am happy to work with dogs of varying activity levels, but extremely high-activity dogs will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. I am currently working from home and am available for dropoff in-home daycare most weekdays and dog boarding (including weekends). My schedule for my dog was three walks a day (morning, afternoon/dinnertime, bedtime) so that is what I'm used to, but I am happy to work with clients to discuss their routine and work with them to agree on an experience that fits their and their dog's needs. I currently have no other animals in my home, so your dog will get my full attention as needed. I don't have a fenced yard, but I am in a residential neighborhood with a good-sized park a block away. I am reasonably close to Seward Park and the Genesee dog park as well.

Meelo is a very sweet old guy, which is great for my pup who's been bullied & is shy at first. Though it was her 1st day & so somewhat anxiety provoking to be left, she still seemed relaxed when I picked her up & asked everyone for scratches & pets during the day. It also seemed she took a liking to their daughter Esther:) She'll try a week there a few weeks from now.”

They are always quick to respond to messages, which was comforting for us. They have a great yard that allows the dogs to burn off energy while safely secured within their fence.”

He took the time to get to know my dog during the meet & greet, and didn’t rush through the process. My dog has some separation anxiety and can sometimes take a while to warm up to unfamiliar people, but he got used to Joshua right away and it feels like my dog has known Joshua for a long time now. Joshua embraces my dog’s unique quirks and reads his behavior so well, which makes a huge difference. We get photo/video updates each stay, and my dog always looks comfortable and so happy. We honestly can’t recommend Joshua enough. He’s reliable, caring, and just genuinely great with dogs. We’re so happy and grateful to have connected with Joshua, and our dog clearly feels the same way!”
