“Liz is the absolute best sitter for our difficult and anxious dog! We will absolutely continue coming back to Liz as long as she will have us! Liz was experienced with handling our dog's behavioral challenges, met with us twice before our stay to help our dog acclimate, followed our extensive and complicated instructions including medications and feeding, took great pictures, and was happy to continue using the training philosophy that we follow during our dog's stay. She is very responsive, friendly and accommodating to all of our needs and our dog's needs. She took amazing care of our dog and really went above and beyond. We are so grateful to have found Liz!”

“Quang did a great job watching Izzi and communicated very well. He sent photos and videos of Izzi everyday. Quang was very fast to respond to my texts and travel updates.”

“Cynthia did a fabulous job taking care of our puppy while we were on vacation! Ellie had a blast and came home happy and worn out! This was our first time leaving Ellie and Cynthia made it so easy. Highly recommend!”

“Sammy must have had a great time at their place, as he was super tired at the end of the day and slept through whole night without any more play time or treats. Note: Sammy is a high energy dog and doesn’t get tired easily. He does 4-5 mile walks everyday and still needs more play time. Another thing to note about Sammy: he has a tendency to mark at new places. We specifically gave bellybands with him. But somehow they managed to keep him off bellybands and off marking their place. Which is amazing! Sammy will definitely visit them again many times, and I can’t recommend them enough! Thank you Xiaoshan & Xiuli for taking care of Sammy!”

“Valerie and Keith took great care of while dog sitting our pup, Bruno. They made sure to get him out for walks and movement, took him hiking and dog parks, and kept him well entertained in the home with puzzle toys too. I will be booking again in the future and recommend them for your pet sittings! Thank you both!”

“Couldn't have been any happier with Cheryl. Great and easy communication. Felt like Cheryl truly cared about my dog and asked the right questions to ensure a positive stay. I can be a bit shatter brained (especially when traveling), and Cheryl rolled with this. Thanks so much”

“First time using Elan M./Rover service and we would highly recommend Elan M. to look after our dog next time we are in need of a sitter. Elan's daily photo updates kept us informed and relieved us of his security and care. Thank you Elan for looking after our loved one so well. Appreciate it!”

“Rochelle and her husband took such good care of our senior dog. She kept us updated on his adventures while we were traveling. I know that he enjoyed him time with them! Thanks for taking such good care of him. It was a pleasure.”
“I would recommend Xin to my family and friends. She kept me informed today 1, I was happy with the pictures and videos. I could tell my little Sebastian was enjoying his stay.”

“Thanks for taking care of Oliver like he is your own dog. We did not feel missing him with your updates regarding his meals and pictures. He really seemed like enjoyed all the walks.”

“Andreia was the best sitter we could have hoped for our doggie. This was our dog’s first experience being away from home but Andreia gave us peace of mind by sending us updates and photos on a daily basis and we could see in our dog’s tail and ears she wasn’t in fear, on the contrary, she seemed to be having a great time with the daily walks and playtime Andreia gave her. We totally recommend Andreia, if you are a first timer like us; look no further and rest assured your pet will be taken care of.”

“Our girl Rebel was so happy to and well taken care of. We got lots of photos and updates daily, it gave it peace of mind trust our baby was well taken care of and being loved.”

“Minnie did an amazing job taking care of our dog, Toki. She made sure to keep us updated about Toki and even sent us videos of Toki playing with her cat. Minnie was attentive and great at communicating about how Toki was doing at her stay there. Overall, I highly recommend Minnie!”

“I was nervous to leave my dog Rooney for such a long time but Joshua eased all my fears and took such wonderful care of Rooney. My dog had such a great time and Joshua was so timely with detailed updates on Rooney’s health and behavior. It helped keep my mind focused on my trip and not worry about Rooney too much. I would definitely board with Joshua again.”

“This was our first time to "board" our two senior dogs and it couldn't have gone better. Our dogs made friends, went for walks, had a nice yard to roam in and had great care. One of our dogs is diabetic and had an emergency during his stay with Akiko. Akiko handled it like a pro - great communications and nursing Louie back to a stable state. I can not say enough good things about Akiko's care. We would definitely recommend her dog sitting services to others and we will be using her again, I hope soon.”

“Alexa and her family were such great hosts and caretakers for our dog Bo - lovely to coordinate with and obviously provided a super good care. Could tell Bo was relaxed and happy from the regular photo/video updates. Will definitely try to rebook with Alexa again soon! 🐾 🦮❤️”

“Absolutely amazing!!!! My cat Kangaroo had the best time ever. She was so loved and cared for and knew she was in the best hands ever. Honestly she didn’t even want to come home after, it was like the best vacation for her. I could not be more happy with the most detailed and loving care from Kinzzie and will definitely be using her again! Your cat will be so happy and loved and spoiled and could not recommend more. I also loved all the attention to detail and updates. Made me miss Kangaroo a bit less. She had such a blast and fell in love with Moco, haha it was so funny to see.”

“John was great to work with! He was very calm and caring, accommodating of pick up and drop off schedules, and sent lots of pictures. We would be happy to book him again.”

Danti was absolutely wonderful! Our Black Lab/Heeler mix has a ton of athletic energy and needs someone who can keep up, and Danti did just that. We received plenty of updates and photos, and came home to a happy, well-exercised pup. Highly recommend and will definitely book again!

Wendy and her family were amazing with our pup. They take such great care and attention to introducing dogs to one another and provide a thoughtful environment for all the small dogs to have a great time in! Out dog enjoyed them so much, we booked a couple weeks later and our dog has excited to go back! Love all the daily updates and photos - we had such a good vacation, knowing our dog was in great care. : )

Emily is wonderful! She was so patient with my pup, who takes a few days to settle in. She sent me many photos, videos, and updates which were all very much appreciated. Gracie had the best care with her and had a friend with her sweet pup Winston. I highly recommend Emily, especially if you have a calm but sensitive dog.

Pam was amazing with my dog, Bowie. He had just lost his lifelong companion and was showing signs of grieving. Pam was very compassionate and made him feel comfortable. He really perked up while staying with Pam and had a great time playing with her dog and the other dogs in her care. In addition, Pam was very responsive and sent lots of pictures and updates during his stay. I am so appreciative of Pam for helping me feel comfortable in knowing that Bowie was safe and well cared for while I was away.

Clarissa is always amazing. I’ve used her a few times and my dog absolutely loves being with her and her dogs. She treats him like her own. My dog has anxiety sometimes and I’ve never seen him get excited to stay with someone else, yet with Clarissa he gets excited and barely looks back as we leave. It’s really cute!

She is truly the best. She sends us so many photos and videos every day of how our dog is doing, and we can clearly see that our dog is incredibly happy at her place. She’s the best Rover sitter we’ve ever had, and we’re so thrilled to have finally found someone we can truly trust and keep coming back to. She is very loving and caring, and her service is fantastic. I strongly recommend her!

Koching was amazing with our boxer Remi! She updated us with plenty of photos and gave more attention to Remi than we probably do at home. As he’s a high energy dog, she took him on multiple outings each day to make sure he was stimulated. Will absolutely have her watch Remi again in the future!

Gina was an amazing dog sitter and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away on vacation. Our dog is elderly now, so it was especially important for us to make sure she was with someone patient, caring, and trustworthy — and Gina was absolutely the right person. She has such a warm, calming energy that animals naturally gravitate toward, and our dog clearly felt comfortable and happy with her right away. We also really appreciated the constant updates, videos, and pictures she sent throughout the stay. It made us feel so good knowing our dog was in such loving hands. We would absolutely trust Gina again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, attentive sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
