“Briana was great with our 2 cats when we were away for 2 weeks. She sent us updates along with pictures when she came to check on them. I would recommend Brianna to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“She was absolutely wonderful with Hagrid! He’s only 8 weeks old, and she was so sweet, patient, and attentive with him. She sent me lots of photos and videos throughout the visit, which made me feel so comfortable while I was at work. She played with him, fed him, took him out for potty breaks, and even noticed when he was about to have an accident and quickly took him to his potty area. 🥰 Hagrid seemed so happy and comfortable with her. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her!”

“Elizabeth was amazing! She was responsive to my request, communicative about her visit, and our pup had a great time. I will not hesitate to book her again, thanks Elizabeth!”

“Pam did an amazing job taking care of our two elderly dogs! She stopped by right at 6:30am each day and always left detailed visit notes and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She was reliable, caring, and very attentive to their needs. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter! Thank you for waking up so early for Summer and Emmi!”

“Megan was great. She arrived on time, and took excellent care of my dog. She followed all instructions perfectly. I really appreciated her reliability and attention to detail. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.”

About: Caring for animals has always been second nature to me. I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making them feel safe, loved, and understood. I have experience with puppies, seniors, and pets who need a little extra patience—whether it’s for training, medication, or just comfort. I treat every pet like my own, making sure they’re not only cared for, but also feel happy and at home while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily life—I truly enjoy spending time with animals. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to offer consistent, attentive care throughout the week. Whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening cuddles, I make time every day to give pets the love, attention, and routine they thrive on. I’m happy to adjust my routine to match your pet’s needs and make them feel comfortable and cared for. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, their safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I create a calm, pet-friendly environment with plenty of supervision, love, and attention. I follow your instructions carefully—sticking to routines, respecting boundaries, and making sure pets feel secure. I build trust by showing up consistently, staying communicative, and treating every animal with patience and care, just like I would with my own.
“Lindsay did a fantastic job caring for our cat while we were out of town! She was a wonderful communicator, sent lots of photos and updates, and our cat warmed up to her right away. It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was in great hands, which allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our trip. We would absolutely recommend Lindsay to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter!”

About: I've had the privilege of owning two dogs - one was 19 years old and the other was 14 when our dogs passed away. I have really enjoyed looking after neighbors' and friends' dogs, whether it was boarding them or taking them for regular walks. I currently work full-time, but I am free every weekend and Monday mornings. Dogs are happiest with someone. If your pet loves to be walked and to have someone to interact with, then we will be very happy together. I believe exercise and attention are the key to a settled, healthy, pet. We live in a quiet neighborhood and our backyard is fenced on 3 sides. We have a sturdy stake with a chain for dogs who prefer to be left alone to get on with business. If possible, I like to combine pet potty time with a good long walk as it’s more enjoyable for everyone.

“We returned home yesterday and think that our two fur babies were hoping Andrew was coming through the door instead of their boring parents. We couldn’t be happier with the arrangement and love the photos.”

“Janine did a fantastic job caring for Wally while we were traveling! She was incredibly attentive, communicative, and patient throughout the entire process. Wally can be a little cautious and takes time to build trust with new people, and Janine was so understanding and willing to work with him at his own pace. Her patience, kindness, and dedication gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in great hands. We truly appreciate the care and effort she put into making Wally feel comfortable and safe. Janine is wonderful, and we will absolutely continue using her services. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter!”

“Entrusting someone to care for our pets takes a lot of courage and trust, especially if your pet has a particular set of needs and structure. After reading through A LOT of sitter profiles, Marcea stood out the most to us as someone we felt could be a good fit. Our 9yrs old bloodhound had a rough start in life, and came to me at 2yrs old as an anxious, leash-aggressive, separation anxiety, osteo-arthritic, quirky dog. Through behavioral training and medication management, his life is more calm and stable, but he requires structure, routine, and calm patient love and understanding. After a combining households move that put our dog hanging at home alone 3 days a week, I knew we needed to hire someone for drop-in visits. Enter Marcea. Our slow-to-trust anxious boy took to Marcea instantly! She is so kind and calm and loving with him, he looks so much happier after work on scheduled drop-ins. And when the trash can got left in the kitchen and our dog, true to his bloodhound nature, needed to investigate and eat the fine trash can delicacies, Marcea instantly sprung into action. She contacted us immediately out of concern for our pup and his safety, and luckily there wasn’t anything in the garbage that was life threatening, but what a relief she was there (and she cleaned up the mess without any complaint or chastising). If you, like me, have a pup with quirks and anxiety and leaving them alone or with a new person makes you nervous and alters your lifestyle, do yourself a favor and hire Marcea. She is a calming balm for both pets and pet parents.”

“Alyssa was a wonderful sitter for my cat John Cougar. She provided timely and entertaining updates about her drop-in visits, complete with detailed information and excellent photos. I felt assured that my little guy was getting excellent attention and care while I was away. I hope I can use Alyssa's services again in the future for my extended travel days.”

“Mark was fabulous with our rambunctious teenage newf and great about keeping in touch with an anxious dog mom. Hagrid was happy to have us home but not upset we had been gone for several days. Thanks Mark!”

Briana is an absolute professional! She is a caring sitter and was so communicative throughout her time with my cat that I didn't worry while I was away-I had peace of mind knowing she was there and attentive. I highly recommend letting Briana take care of your fur babies!

Patricia is absolutely wonderful, and I cannot recommend her enough! She and Leo take amazing care of my kitty every single time. He is really comfortable around them, to the point where he happily stretches out and exposes his belly, which says everything about how safe and relaxed he feels with them. Patricia is extremely reliable, thoughtful, and caring. I trust her completely with Michie and our home, and I never have to worry when we’re away because I know he is getting plenty of attention, love, playtime, and brushing. We are always very grateful for Patricia and Leo and feel very lucky to have them taking care of Michie. Highly, highly recommend! ❤️

I’m a repeat customer of Julie. She’s fantastic with my cats, communicates well, and is reliable. This time one of my cats was ill and Julie was able to administer his medicine, even though he’s a very squirmy guy! My other cat, Houdini, loves getting her cuddles when she visits.

Amy is a great pet sitter and a real animal lover :) one of my cats has behavioral issues and one of them is older and Amy gives them patience and lots of playtime. I can tell from the photos of them that the cats are having fun during the visits. She notified me of any behavioral problems (spraying) so I am not surprised when I come home and kept the litter boxes clean including refilling the litter robot. I recommend Amy highly!

Guoyi took the best care of my cat Scarlett. Guoyi was reliable, timely, provided great communication, and sent me frequent updates with pictures of Scarlett. I felt so comfortable leaving my cat because I knew she would be checked on regularly. Guoyi made the experience very smooth and carefree.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
