I currently pet sit and dog walk full time. Typically I am out of the house 4-5 hours a day during the week. Though not necessarily a consecutive 4-5 hours. Aside from being out of the house walking/dropping in I will spend the rest of my time with the animals I am house sitting. If I’m not house sitting I am spending time with my cat and reading or doing a jigsaw puzzle.

I am great a following directions. So tell me how caring for your pet varies from other pets and I will follow it. I am also good at understanding your pet’s behaviour to understand what they need/want. I try to stick to their routine as much as I can so they are less stressed while you are gone. I may have to modify it minimally to match my schedule but I do my best.

Every pet is different, so what behaviour(s) does it have that make it unique that I need to know are normal for your pet? What is a typical day/walk like for your pet?
A typical day
Well it depends on the capabilities of the pet. Some dogs can run for hours and still have energy left over, others only have a 10 minute walk in them. If pets are able I love taking them to parks or hikes on weekends when I am pet sitting. On a typical walk while the humans are at work we either walk around the neighborhood or go to the dog park depending on the dog and it’s needs.

Pet care experience
I have had cats my entire life. I’ve also had a dog, hamsters, a guinea pig, rabbits, chickens, and fish. On top of that I have pet sit a friend’s turtle and a cousin’s gecko. So to say I have a wide range of experience is an understatement. I’ve even looked after a client’s axolotl! I am very good with timid/shy animals, often making friends with them by the end. I am good about giving complicated medicine regiments and have been told multiple times I’m good at communicating with pet owners. I have given a cat subcutaneous fluids before and given multiple cats asthma inhalers. I will look after your pets as if they were my own. Giving them the same level of care and respect that you do. I hope to make them as happy as possible while you are away.
