“Alice is super respectful of our home, always sends pictures of our boy, and gives us an in-depth recap of her visit. Our schedule can be a bit crazy sometimes, and she is super flexible with us too:)”

“Emma is awesome and was able to come take time with our dogs, spending time with them and taking them for much needed walks. She was responsive, prompt and caring with our fur babies.”

About: I have about 10 years of experience of pet care, as well as 15+ years of farm sitting. I own two cats of my own and also have experience administering prescription foods. Pet care is a life style. Through my own experience owning pets, I know the effort and commitment it takes. House sitting will be limited to specific availability depending on my own commitments. “Vanessa took great care of our cat for 4 days of drop in visits. She was reliable, flexible and even threw a few flakes out for our fish. The pictures she sent each day made it apparent that our cat was in good hands and behaving in her normal pattern. Vanessa also took great care in managing the security of our house. Thank you Vanessa!”

“Grace is fantastic, they were timely and very sweet to the dogs. She even pick up the stuffing from the toy one of the dogs had pulled out. We will absolutely work with Grace again.”

“First time leaving my senior dog alone for a week. We decided to try a sitter on Rover, and we are happy with our dog and with the care that Jessie V. put into caring for Sammi, and for the house. At 15 years old, Sammi has messes, and I am grateful for Jessie's care in caring for Sammi, and for the condition of the carpet and floors. When we saw Sammi after being away for a week, he seemed happy, well-fed, and the room smelled clean. Thanks, Jessie!”

“Entrusting someone to care for our pets takes a lot of courage and trust, especially if your pet has a particular set of needs and structure. After reading through A LOT of sitter profiles, Marcea stood out the most to us as someone we felt could be a good fit. Our 9yrs old bloodhound had a rough start in life, and came to me at 2yrs old as an anxious, leash-aggressive, separation anxiety, osteo-arthritic, quirky dog. Through behavioral training and medication management, his life is more calm and stable, but he requires structure, routine, and calm patient love and understanding. After a combining households move that put our dog hanging at home alone 3 days a week, I knew we needed to hire someone for drop-in visits. Enter Marcea. Our slow-to-trust anxious boy took to Marcea instantly! She is so kind and calm and loving with him, he looks so much happier after work on scheduled drop-ins. And when the trash can got left in the kitchen and our dog, true to his bloodhound nature, needed to investigate and eat the fine trash can delicacies, Marcea instantly sprung into action. She contacted us immediately out of concern for our pup and his safety, and luckily there wasn’t anything in the garbage that was life threatening, but what a relief she was there (and she cleaned up the mess without any complaint or chastising). If you, like me, have a pup with quirks and anxiety and leaving them alone or with a new person makes you nervous and alters your lifestyle, do yourself a favor and hire Marcea. She is a calming balm for both pets and pet parents.”

“Scarlett did an amazing job taking care of our old lady Jelly. She followed directions thoroughly, gave her medicine on time and made sure Jelly didn't get lonely while we were gone. She's super nice, communicative and pays attention to the animal's needs. I highly recommend Scarlett (Wanqing) for your pets needs when you need to be away. Will definitely use her again for any upcoming trips!”

Hayley was an excellent sitter for my cat! I’m always nervous when I’m away, but Hayley’s communication and photo updates really put my anxiety at ease. She was punctual, clean, and did a great job administering my cat’s medicine. She used the remaining appointment time to play with my cat, so she was nice and tuckered out by the time I got home. I would 100% recommend her services!

Thank you so much for taking care of Lucy and bearing with our questionable communication during such a busy time for us— it was such a relief to know she had someone so attentive and thorough taking care of her! We really appreciate you, and will be reaching out in the future next time we need care for her.

Xiaoxiao was wonderful!! She was very caring and communicative, and took amazing care of my cat. She gave lots of love to my cat, and sent many cute pictures and videos. My cat definitely likes her a lot. Would highly recommend and hope to have her help again in the future!

Morgan is awesome, she took great care of our cat while we were on vacation. I appreciated the photos, and that Willie was willing to come out and pose for them. He’s usually shy with people he doesn’t know, but warmed up to Morgan no problem! I had peace of mind that he was well cared for. Thank you Morgan!! 🙏💕

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
