“Emily was easily the BEST rover sitter I’ve ever used. She was booked to do 30 min drop ins for my cat while I was gone for nearly 3 weeks, and she was so sweet and communicative! I will definitely be using her services again the next time I’m out of town!!”

“Jessica is the best! She took amazing care of our pup! Her check in cards were always so thorough and fun to read to see how it went, and we loved seeing her photos every day! So thankful and grateful! We will definitely be booking Jessica again in the future! 10/10”

“Katrina has been with Kiko since the beginning when she was 2 months old. She is responsive caring and takes great pictures. Even with quick changes to my schedule she is willing to work with the quick scheduling conflicts! I'm grateful Kiko has had someone she knows for so long to stop in and hang out with her while mom and dad are at work.”

About: I have several years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats, including pet sitting experience outside the U.S. I’m new to Rover in the United States, but I’m not new to pet care. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, litter box care, basic grooming, and following detailed owner instructions. I also have pets of my own, so I understand how important consistency, patience, and clear communication are. I’m comfortable caring for cats and dogs of different breeds, mixed breeds, and sizes, including large dogs, as long as they are friendly, well-socialized, and a good fit after a meet-and-greet. I’m happy to send regular photo updates and keep communication clear during the stay. My availability is focused on planned house sitting, weekends, and weekday evenings. I prefer bookings with advance notice so we can do a meet-and-greet, review the pet’s routine, and make sure the booking is a good fit. During a stay, I follow the agreed schedule for feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medication notes, and updates. If I need to step out, I make sure it fits the pet’s care plan and the owner’s instructions. Most of my care is provided in the client’s home, where I follow the owner’s instructions and house rules carefully. I keep doors, windows, gates, collars, harnesses, and leashes secure, and I do not allow off-leash time unless the owner has clearly approved it in a safe area. I pay attention to feeding instructions, medications, behavior changes, appetite, energy level, and emergency contacts. I keep the home clean and respectful, and I send regular updates so owners know their pets are safe and comfortable.
“Zubia is incredibly sweet and communicative and our cat took to her instantly. Being brand new to the area, we were nervous to leave our cat, but Zubia made us feel very comfortable and was flexible to work with our needs. I absolutely will reach out to her again!”

“Valentina is such a lovely person with a special love for animals. She is my favourite cat sitter I have found on rover! Thank you for taking good care of my kitties!! Highly recommend her :)”

“Juniper was communicative and was patient and understanding to my pups anxiety with new people. She made sure to touch base throughout her first visit to let me know how it was going.”

“Alec is fantastic! He helped with drop-in visits for our dog. He was great with our dog! Our dog was initially nervous and unsure, even after a meet and greet, but Alex was patient and understanding and able to manage the situation, understanding the Norm wasn't ready yet and communicated everything. Timely, communicative, and so kind, we wouldn't hesitate to work with him again!”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals whether it be dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, you name it. I’m extremely knowledge and will be able to provide the best care you can get! Recently I got into pet sitting for family friends, training dogs, and am looking for a hobby to pass some time! I have also taken care of senior pets that need a little extra love. I’m a recent college graduate who is currently on the job hunt and am free throughout the week. I‘m open to anything your pet may need! I have a large fenced in yard with chickens, a garden, and lots of new things to sniff! I can also easily crate your dog if needed.
“I can’t say enough wonderful things about our pet sitter, Bryce. Finding someone who can confidently care for both our special needs cocker spaniel and chinchilla is no small task, but she exceeded every expectation from day one. She is incredibly reliable—always on time, always prepared, and always going the extra mile to make sure our pets feel safe and loved. Bryce’s depth of pet knowledge is truly impressive. Whether it’s understanding the sensitive nature of a chinchilla’s environment or keeping up with the energetic, affectionate personality of a cocker spaniel, they handle it all with ease and genuine care. You can tell immediately that animals are their priority; everything they do is thoughtful, attentive, and completely pet‑focused. On top of that, she’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Our pets warmed up instantly, which says everything. Communication was flawless throughout—clear updates, adorable photos, and quick responses that gave us total peace of mind while we were away. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and truly exceptional with animals, look no further. This is the kind of pet sitter you hope to find but rarely do. Our fur (and fur‑dust!) babies adore them, and so do we.”

“Autumn is the best! She's taken great care of my cats multiple times now and im so happy to have found a reliable sitter. She's great with communication and sends plenty of pictures!”

“Ashley was amazing with our two cats! She is very responsive and sent detailed updates and photos from each drop-in visit. Our cats warmed up to her and I’m sure they will be excited for more visits from Ashley in the future! Highly recommend.”

“Eric was a fantastic cat sitter! He was reliable, caring, and kept me updated while I was away. My cat was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I would definitely recommend him.”

About: Since I was 9, I have cared for pigs, sheep, goats, rabbits, cats, dogs, chickens, cows, and horses. I have helped with everything from daily feeding and watering, to administering both pills and injections for large and small animals. I have pet-sat for over 10 years, for pets including tropical birds. I love all animals, furry, feathered, or scaly! I currently work full time, and I am off by 3:30 pm in the afternoons. I am usually available all weekend, unless stated otherwise. I am happy to take dogs on walks, hikes, throw frisbees or balls for them. I can also crate them, stay the night at your house for comfort, or just stop by to feed and let them go potty.
“Jeany was so great! My cat seemed to love her! She took a good amount of photos, cleaned up any messes, and had plenty of cuddle time with our gal. Next time we are away she will be my go to, if she is available that is. Thank you for giving us peace of mind Jeany.”

Emma did a wonderful job caring for my cats! This is the second year I’ve found Emma to take care of my cats while I’m on vacation, and I’ve been very happy with her care both times. She was reliable, attentive, and made sure they had plenty of food and fresh water, while also keeping their litter boxes clean. She gave Griffin lots of love and attention, and was patient with shy Maple, who eventually felt comfortable enough to let her pet her. I really appreciated the thoughtful updates throughout her visits and knowing the cats were well cared for. Emma was also very considerate about securing the key and letting us know everything was in order before we returned. I would definitely recommend Emma and would be happy to have her care for my pets again!

Zhaoli did a wonderful job looking after our cat, Marlon, while we were away. She was communicative throughout both visits, keeping us updated and putting our minds at ease. Marlon tends to be quite shy, so we were delighted to see how well he warmed up to her and played during her visits. We'd recommend Zhaoli without hesitation and are so grateful for the wonderful care she gave Marlon. Thank you!

Roulan did a FABULOUS job taking care of my two cats! She’s knowledgeable and dedicated to providing the best care! She won over their hearts (and stomachs 😸) with engaging drop-in visits. My female cat, who is very shy with most people, warmed up to her almost immediately. Roulan sent me messages, pictures and videos that kept me connected to my cats during a long trip. 💜 I highly recommend her!

Yihua took such great care of Kaiju and gave her so much love while I was away. Kaiju is normally pretty timid, so it made me so happy seeing her come out of her shell. She was great at communicating and made the whole trip stress-free. I’d absolutely book her again!

We're so grateful to Brandi for taking such wonderful care of our pets whenever we're out of town. Most recently she looked after our conure for a full week, and she does a fantastic job of keeping us updated on how everything's going. There's nothing better than being away and knowing your pets are in good hands. If you're looking for someone to care for your pets, we can't recommend Brandi highly enough!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
