“Rochelle and her husband were wonderful! Our pup loved them and their home the instant he stepped through the front door. He got lots of snuggles and adventures, and we got plenty of updates along the way which was incredibly comforting. There’s no doubt in my mind that Whispy can’t wait to come back for a visit!”

“Tunyi was awesome!!! Our pup loved her and her family. Sent us texts and videos the entire time while we were gone and we just knew Flo was being loved on❤️”

“Luna had such a great time with Giovanna! This was the first time our dog had stayed with someone outside of our family. She got to go on walks and play everyday with Giovanna’s dog. She came home tired and happy. Thank you, Giovanna!”

“Our Bernedoodle, Ludo, had a wonderful stay with Patricia and her family! She sent daily updates and photos and gave him all the snuggles and belly rubs that he needs. He got along well with her two older labs and enjoyed the big fenced back yard. We’re so thankful to have a home away from home where we can trust he’ll be well cared for when we leave town. Highly recommend!”

“Hazel had a wonderful 2- week stay with Suk and family and their playful doggie T-Bone, while we were on an overseas trip. We were nervous about being away from Hazel for so long, but Suk sent us regular updates, photos, and videos that were very reassuring and delightful. Hazel got walks, lots of cuddles from Suk and family, and playtime with T-Bone. Hazel is timid around other dogs , but she’s bonded with T-Bone so much so that when I picked her up, she welcomed me and then ran off to play with T-Bone. We look forward to sending Hazel to Suk again.”

“Lena was absolutely wonderful with Teddy for the past three days. I was a bit worried because a previous sitter had mentioned some minor issues with him, which made me think he might have been stressed in that environment. However, Teddy settled in perfectly at Lena’s place and seemed so relaxed and happy. I could tell from the photos and updates that he was truly enjoying his stay. Thank you so much, Lena, for taking such great care of him!”

“Bruno really enjoyed his stay with Soma in her huge backyard! Soma kept us updated and would communicate any issues. She would send us pictures of Bruno playing catch which is my dogs absolute fave. I’d def take Bruno back. Thanks Soma!”

“Loic and Kristen took such good care of our little two year old schnoodle, Poppy! This was our first experience with them and we were gone for 17 days so we were a bit nervous at first. But from day one, it looked like Poppy was having a terrific time. We got photos and updates every day. Poppy has lots of energy and they took her on long walks every day to sniff and explore. She loved playing with their son and getting lots of attention. We will definitely send Poppy here again!”

“Thanks for taking care of Oliver like he is your own dog. We did not feel missing him with your updates regarding his meals and pictures. He really seemed like enjoyed all the walks.”

“Chloe, thanks for watching our pups while we were traveling! They came back happy and tired from all the walks and playtime they got with you and your family. We’re already looking forward to coming back!”

“I was so incredibly happy and thankful for the care Silvia and her family gave my dog, Rail. More importantly, Rail was happy tired and smiling for the entire evening after I picked him up. He enjoyed his stay and loved the back yard time and walks. Thank you so much. I will certainly be rebooking.”

“Our two Boston terriers had a great time at Tracy’s place! They loved her large outdoor space and playing with other dogs. Tracy is very reliable and knowledgeable, and I can tell our dogs felt comfortable in her care. Tracy was also flexible to extend their stay a day longer when our travel plans changed. Thanks Tracy!”

“Shon has watched our puppy twice and we've had great experiences both times. We received photos and updates throughout our trips and our puppy was exhausted when he came home. We know our puppy was well taken care of, loved as a member of the family, and happy. Thanks, Shon!”

“Karina is an amazing sitter, she was clear and communicative while watching my golden retriever and always would reach out if anything. I would recommend her to anyone.”

“Julie Ann was terrific. My two boys came home better trained than when they arrived at her place! Aside from taking good care of our dogs overnight, she shared with me some tips on how to have them walk better on leashes. She was able to accomplish in 5 minutes what I have been working on for 4 years! We will be booking again with her for a longer stay later this summer.”

“Natalie is amazing! My dog Ellie can struggle with anxiety and fear meeting new people/places, but she seemed immediately comfortable with Natalie during our meet and greet. She was very accommodating, asked great questions at drop off to make sure Ellie was comfortable, and provided updates and photos throughout the stay. We will definitely use her again, I think Ellie was sad to say goodbye.”

“Thanks for the great care and personal attention you gave our sweet Coco. It gave us such comfort seeing all the pictures and videos and knowing she she was having such a good time. We will definitely use you again.”

“Amanda and Eric were wonderful sitters and caregivers to our lil pup! We had the chance to do a meet and greet, where our doggo met the family and gathered up all the sniffs (😂) . They communicated great, shared over frequent phone photos and took amazing care of our pup. 100% will be booking again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
