“Kimberly stayed with our puppy, Charlie, for 4 days while we were out of town. She did a great job with him and our house! We felt so fortunate to have found Kimberly and her willingness to stay with Charlie, who had not been left alone for more than an hour. So we wanted to find someone who could be with him/ in the house for the vast majority of the time.”

“Nicole was amazing and my dogs were so happy. She sent great pics all the time and they were off exploring all the time. Couldn’t be happier and I was never worried about how my dogs were doing. They will want me to go away more I’m thinking!”

“Kyli was thoughtful, thorough, reliable and kind. Our animals were calm and well cared for upon our return. She loved our dog but somehow she won over our very shy cat, a cat whisperer for sure. Thank you Kyli!”

“Mindy took great care of our pups, AND tolerated me while our schedule kept changing :) Great communicator... even showed up early so we could beat rush hour traffic on the way out of town Would definitely book her again!”
“Chloe was a wonderful pet sitter! She took amazing care of our dog and our bunny while we were out of town. She was incredibly respectful of our home & space, and left everything in perfect condition. We appreciated her communication and updates with pictures of our pets! I would absolutely recommend her!”

“Ben provide great care for our dog and house during our time away. He provided us with multiple photos and updates daily, which gave us piece of mind. We recommend Ben and will hire again. Thanks”

“Autumn sat for our little Molly dog overnight for almost 2 weeks and she did a terrific job. Molly does not build trust quickly, but Autumn did good work befriending her and winning her over. Autumn was very patient and spoke calmly and warmly with Molly. She sent us regular updates while we were away, including pictures and some videos too! So that was a joy to see how our dog was doing. Autumn made us feel comfortable knowing Molly would have company in the evening, overnight, mornings and also sometimes during the mid-day, her schedule permitting. Autumn was very flexible with us on scheduling as well as being easy and pleasant to work with. We thank her for taking good care of our little girl. Also, Autumn departed our home as if she had never been here...it was very neat and tidy as we had left it.”

About: I have experience caring for dogs of all energy levels, from playful puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and care. I also have experience with cats and a variety of animals. Over the years, I've cared for everything from iguanas to ferrets and truly enjoy working with animals of all kinds. I currently work part-time, typically during the mornings, which leaves the rest of my day flexible for pet care. This allows me to provide attentive care, regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, feeding, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. I have a lifelong love of animals and enjoy making them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. During our meet and greet, I'll take the time to learn about your pet's routine, needs, personality, and any special quirks or preferences. My goal is to provide consistent, attentive care that helps your pet feel comfortable, safe, and happy while you're away.
“We are so grateful that Tricia could watch our pets for a whole week! She was very communicative throughout our trip which put me at ease that our fur babies were in good hands. She sent lots of pictures which I loved and left our house clean and pets happy. Would definitely book again. Thank you Tricia!”

“Georgia was great with my two pugs! This was my first time using Rover, so I was nervous, but Georgia listened to my concerns and took great care of my babies!”

“Kira was an amazing dog sitter! One of our dogs has separation anxiety, and Kira did a great job keeping her calm and cared for. They also asked a lot of great questions to make sure they had all of the information they needed about our dogs while we were gone. They sent us pictures of the dogs and gave status updates while we were gone which was really appreciated! They were very flexible with time too, I was able to book them with just a few days notice, and had to stay out later than expected which was no problem for them. Overall it was a great experience, our pups seemed very happy. Thanks Kira! <3”

“Barbara was fantastic! She did an amazing job taking care of our two dogs and aquarium. One of our dogs is very nervous around new people and by the end of Barbara's stay, the dog was comfortable with her. She provide updates daily and did not hesitate when any instructions were unclear. I will definitely book with Barbara again.”

“Gabrielle overnighted with our King Charles Spaniel last week. This was the second time using her service. Prompt arrival, asked all the right questions and provided text updates - even a photo of a happy dog. Responsible sitter and one I plan use in the future. Thanks!”

“I really appreciated Juan's communication and pics while we were away from our beloved pets. I knew that they were both well-taken care of. Our kitten is quite the escape artist, but he took great care with ensuring she never had a chance to escape. He also left our home spotless, which was much appreciated after a trip away. I highly recommend Juan to anyone looking for someone to take care of their pets and home.”

“Jeany was fabulous! Easy to communicate with and friendly. Our dog got along great with her, and she was responsive while we were gone. We will for surely book her again, and highly recommend her for dog/house sitting.”
“Julianne was a great house sitter / pet sitter for our kitty. She cared for him during a nearly 3 week vacation in May 2024. She stayed in communication with us throughout the trip and always gave me a sense that our cat was cared for with affection and love. Took great care of our house and yard which doesn’t require a whole lot but was a comfort while we were away. I especially appreciated that Julianne is retired and could really spend most of her time here. Highly recommended!”

“We absolutely loved having Carissa come and watch our senior dog, Chloe. She was very responsive, kind, and great with keeping us up to date on the goings on in our home. I will absolutely be using her again to help care for our old lady!”

“It was our first time using Rover, and Susannah made us feel so at ease. Our 4 month old pup loved her from the second she walked in the door for our meet and greet, and she provided updates and photos as we were away. We booked Susannah with fairly late notice and she was so accommodating of the last minute nature as well as us having a puppy.”

Kyli was a great sitter! My 2 cats were very well cared for and happy and healthy when I got home. They were comfortable around Kyli and she has a real love for animals. She checked in daily and sent cute pics. The house was clean and in great condition. She was responsive and communicative before, during and after the sit. I would absolutely recommend Kyli!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Carnation walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Carnation maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carnation choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carnation. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
