“Mckenzie was the absolute best dog sitter we could have asked for. She checked in every day, giving not only a detailed update on August but also beautiful photos as well! She took great care with our house and left it spotless. We hope to have the opportunity to use her services again as our house and dog were taken such good care of. She gave us the peace of mind to enjoy our trip free of worry.”

“We LOVE how much Shalindra loves our dogs, and they love her! She keeps us thoroughly updated and sends plenty of pictures and videos so we know they’re doing well. She is someone who you know just adores spending time with dogs, which helps us know she’s enjoying her time with our pups, even if one of our dogs is insane haha. Highly recommend Shalindra if you want someone to truly enjoy hanging out with your pups and update you along the way.”

“Chantal was incredible! We got pictures multiple times a day and she gave us some really great tips on how to better care for our fur babies who are elders. We feel so lucky to have had her care for them.”

“Kris was an awesome caretaker for our two old cats, one of whom needs a lot of extra care. We got regular updates (including literally one of the cutest/funniest photos we've ever seen of our other cat), and would feel totally comfortable having Kris here again!”

“Julie was a great helping looking after my puppy! He was so well taken care of and it allowed me and my family to work stress free! Would 100% rebook with Julie in the future!!”

“My mind was completely at ease while Brandi was sitting with our dog. When we had our meeting prior to the weekend she sat for us, Brandi was thorough with her questions for me which gave me confidence that she knew what she was doing. She gave us updates and by the pictures she sent I could tell Leia was happy and loved on. We will definitely have her sit with Leia again.”

“Alex was the perfect weekend buddy for our two pitbull mixes. They showed up right on time for the meet and greet, and seemed happy and patient to be around the dogs. During the pet sitting, we received several updates and dog photos which we always appreciate. We came back to our home exactly how we had left it. We would definitely book Alex again, and would recommend them to others as well!”

“Savonne has the best communication style! She provided pup-dates and photos to keep my mind at ease! Savonne treated my girls so well, they were very happy dogs when I got home from my weekend away.”

“Alexandria took great care of our dog and our house. The house was spotless and our dog was happy and relaxed. We would definitely ask her to watch Astro again!”

“Jisu is amazing with my senior pup! It warmed my heart to see how much they bonded. It was apparent he was so happy, and spoiled with love, cuddles and care the whole time. She also left our home in perfect order. Thank you Jisu! We look forward to the next time!”

“Our cat has separation anxieties, and Stephanie went above and beyond to take care of him during the 8 nights that we were away. She even brought her Amazon Echo to play calming music to help with our cat's anxiety when left alone, and it's obvious to us our cat adores her. Stephanie also helped me feel comfortable and at ease since that was the first time we left our cat for an extended period. We received daily updates and photos of our cat, which we truly enjoy and appreciate. Stephanie is honest and reliable, and there aren't enough words to describe how much we appreciate her. We plan to use her service in the future and we highly recommend her.”

“Eric braved the traffic during road closures to help us very last minute. He took great care of our dogs and cats. Punctual, professional, kind, dependable. Would definitely hire him again.”
“Natalia worked with our schedule and was able to watch our high energy dog while on a trip out of the country. She had great communication and provided pictures/video daily. We would highly recommend her for all dog watching services. -Saara and Torrey”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bryn Mawr-Skyway
Rebecca took great care of our dog Ruby for 5 days, including giving her periodic meds and following specific feeding instructions. When unexpected things came up like a power outage & later a thunderstorm that caused Ruby anxiety, Rebecca’s communication and attention to Ruby’s needs were excellent. The periodic updates (frequency coordinated in advanced) were equally great with pictures and clear communication. Overall 5 stars!
Brendan was an absolute rockstar with our Siberian Husky, Loki! We had been searching for over 6 months to find the perfect match, and Brendan exceeded every expectation. He was immaculate, professional, and clearly loves dogs. From the detailed daily updates, we could tell Loki had a fantastic 4th of July stay. Brendan started the day with an early morning walk, handled breakfast and playtime, took him on a big trail loop walk, and kept up multiple outings throughout the day (including a shorter one in the afternoon). He even gave Loki his fireworks medication proactively and planned a final potty break before heading out—such thoughtful care during a stressful holiday for pups! Beyond the excellent dog care, Brendan went above and beyond by washing the sheets, making the bed, and leaving the house looking spotless. (And no worries about those fitted sheet folding skills—haha—we appreciated it so much!) Everything was perfect when we returned. We’re already looking forward to having Brendan watch Loki again at the end of the month. If you’re in the area and need a reliable, caring sitter who truly gets it, book Brendan without hesitation. He’s a gem! Highly recommend

Not only was Emily respectful, neat, and attentive with our home, but more importantly, she took exceptional care of Buzzy while we were away. It was clear from the start that she genuinely cared about his well-being and made sure he was comfortable, happy, and well looked after. We especially appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our time away knowing Buzzy was in great hands. Emily was reliable, communicative, and went above and beyond our expectations. We returned to a spotless home and a happy, healthy dog. We would not hesitate to have Emily house and dog sit for us again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter.

Mary is such an amazing cat and house sitter. We have had her cat/housesit before, but this was her first visit with our new cat. Mary is knowledgeable l, kind and thoughtful in her care of pets. She kept us updated with great photos and stories on how our cat was doing, which gave us so much peace of mind to enjoy our trip! All our plants, house and especially our cat were good and well taken care of while we were gone. Highly recommend Mary!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bryn Mawr-Skyway walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bryn Mawr-Skyway maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bryn Mawr-Skyway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
