“Shalindra was absolutely wonderful with our pup, Kahlua, while we were away. She went above and beyond in every way, even accommodating a last-minute flight delay and staying later than planned on her birthday to make sure Kahlua was cared for. We loved receiving daily updates and photos, and it was clear Kahlua had a great time with all of the park adventures and extra attention. When we returned, Kahlua was happy, freshly bathed, and our home was spotless. Shalindra was incredibly respectful of our house and treated both our dog and our home with so much care. We felt completely at ease knowing Kahlua was in such capable hands and would gladly trust Shalindra again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Brandy is an excellent communicator, keeping us up to date throughout her stay with our dog. She was very tender with our anxious pup and prioritized his exercise and play, even on rainy/muddy days. We trusted her in our home and returned to a tidy and clean house and a happy dog. Would definitely recommend and will book her again if the timing works out!”

About: Not only did I have cats and dogs my entire childhood, but as an adult I adopted and raised my own puppy. I have professional petsitting experience (through Sitter City). I stayed overnight on 5 occasions to watch a cat and a 50-lbs dog and took the dog on a 30-min walk in the mornings. The cat had special needs due to a recent surgery so I have no problem following specific instructions regarding medication, etc. I like to walk and I’m happy to take the dogs with me to get exercise. I just love animals and am always trying to hang out with other people’s pets since I’m not allowed to have pets in my apartment! I work during weekdays but am almost always free on weekends to focus on pet sitting. I don’t have kids so I tend to treat pets like the kids I never had! I can stay in your home with your pet and am also happy to take them out (and they’re welcome in my car). I can take them on walks or to the dog park!
“Brandi is great! She is friendly, competent, and caring. She took care of my three high needs pets for two days sending me updates through out her care. Her attention to detail allowed me to enjoy my time away and not worry about my babies.”

“Julie was punctual, communicative, and respectful of our training plan with Bluey. She kept our home clean. She responded quickly and put me at ease. I can tell the love she has for animals.”

“Madison took great care of our dog and cat while we were away for a few days. She was easy to communicate with and detailed when we went through care instructions. We appreciated the updates and photos to know how things were going, and our animals were clearly well-cared-for. Thanks Madison!”

“John’s fantastic! And, a go-to sitter! He’s routinely punctual, attentive, respectful and a great communicator. All of my many pets quickly take to him which is a testament to his experience and skill as a sitter.”

“Love the regular daily updates, it’s much better than looking at my phone photos when I miss my cats. Brooklin gives me peace of mind and my kitties are very used to her good care now :)”

“Emily took great care of Dakota while we were out of town for the holidays. Dakota can be initially shy around new people, but he immediately took to Emily! That made us feel so comfortable that he was in good hands.”

“Stephanie took excellent care of our Boy. She left our house extremely tidy and was so great with communication the entire time she was there. I highly recommend Stephanie!”

“We could tell coming home from our trip that our dog and cat had experienced lots of love while we were gone! Our home was well taken care of and our packages were neatly put inside. Talia was very communicative, on time, and even made sure she had our dogs favorite treats on hand when she walked through the door.”

“Stuart did an amazing job! Gizmo was well cared for and when he got into something on the street Stuart immediately called my vet to make sure he didn’t need to come in, then promptly checked in with me. Also left my apartment very clean!”

“Jennefer house-sat our 3 month old puppy for an evening while we were out for an appointment. She was very attentative and respectful of our puppy's needs which are very specific with her being so young and not fully house trained. Our puppy took a liking to her immediately and spent the whole time either playing with her or napping on the couch with her head on Jennefer's lap. The constant photo and video updates gave us plenty of reassurance and peace of mind.”

“Kayleigh pet/house sat for us while we were away on our honeymoon. Our dog in particular can have separation anxiety, to the point of upsetting her stomach. We have a game plan for that and were prepared...but never ended up having to use it! I was absolutely floored that our dog felt so comfortable, that she did as well as she did while we were away. Kayleigh gave both our dog and kitty all the play time, love, and attention we could hope for. She tidied up after herself (even had already put the sheets from our guest bed in the washer for us), and made sure we came home to a clean home and happy animals. She sent pictures and updates every day... we couldn't have asked for someone better, and are so happy we found her (not to mention she's just a cool person). Will definitely book again!”

“Hunter did an excellent job taking care of our dogs, our house and even our abundant and varied plants. Thank you, Hunter! We will definitely use Hunter again if he’s available!”

“Alex was the perfect weekend buddy for our two pitbull mixes. They showed up right on time for the meet and greet, and seemed happy and patient to be around the dogs. During the pet sitting, we received several updates and dog photos which we always appreciate. We came back to our home exactly how we had left it. We would definitely book Alex again, and would recommend them to others as well!”

About: I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life and have been pet sitting for friends and family for over 7 years. I have experience with walking up to three dogs, drop ins and overnights, administering oral medications on a time sensitive schedule, and providing structure for rambunctious puppies. I love playing fetch in the yard just as much as cuddling on the couch. I look forward to meeting your fur babies! I’m currently a student taking online classes and working part time 1-2 days a week in the early morning. I have a very open and flexible schedule. I will take dogs into a fenced yard or go on walks regularly, provide enrichment with toys and treats, following mealtime schedules, and basic cleanup around the house including scooping poop in the yard.
“They’re just aren’t enough great words to say about our service from Chauncey. Ourtwo active standard. poodles were happy and healthy when we got home and clearly had been well cared for. We were especially indebted to Chauncey because our flight was delayed by a day coming home from a trip and she kindly stepped in and spent an extra night and made sure our boys were cared for. 15/10 would recommend!”

We trust Brooklin with our two dogs, Cosmo & Leia. Brooklin has cared for them quit a few times over the years. She has always been an excellent communicator and she keeps us updated throughout our trip with daily updates on how they are doing along with photos and videos of them. She takes them on walks and little adventures to local parks. Cosmo requires a little more care than the average dog due to his paralysis in his back legs. Brooklin does an amazing job in caring for him! We miss our dogs when we are gone, but knowing that Brooklin is caring for them allows us to enjoy our trip and relax knowing that they are in good hands. We trust Brooklin and she always takes excellent care of our home during the overnight stays. I highly recommend Brooklin for your pet's care!

Becca was a wonderful sitter for our two dogs! She was responsible, tidy, and kept us well informed with regular updates while we were away. We felt completely comfortable trusting her with the dogs, and she made sure they were happy, comfortable, and well walked throughout her stay. One of our dogs needed daily medication, and Becca handled it perfectly. We’d definitely book Becca again and would happily recommend her!

Briana was amazing! She agreed to come by for a short visit before the booked time to meet George and get a walkthrough of his needs and the space, she was super friendly and kind and listened to my rambling list of things to know to take care of George. While I was gone, she sent frequent updates with pictures and descriptions of how he’d been and how they’d played together. George was happy and healthy when I came home and I’m so grateful that she kept him company and took care of him.

As a former vet tech and pet-sitter, I am pretty picky when it comes to my pets. That said, Envee has been my favorite sitter in memorable history. She managed my senior dog and cat's laundry list of medications and quirks without a moment of hesitation. Despite two separate car issues, she still showed up and took my high energy pup, Sierra, on a bunch of "field trips" around town. We got a pretty low key welcome home from Sierra after she'd had so much fun. She was communicative and sent numerous photos every day. As much as I want to have Envee available whenever we need her in the future, it's only fair to share this hidden gem with other pet owners in the area. Highly recommend her to everyone 💚

We had a wonderful experience with Raven. She was a great communicator, kept our home clean and well cared for, and took such amazing care of our pup while we were away. She also sent lots of pictures of all the cuddles and walks, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing our girl was happy and in such good hands. We would absolutely use Raven again and highly recommend her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Riverton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Riverton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Riverton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
