“Brittney and Megan were absolute angels!! From the moment I booked with them, they went above and beyond—checking in with me every day, sending the cutest, most beautiful photos of my babies, and most importantly, loving them like their own. 🥹💛 Knowing they were safe, snuggled, and genuinely cared for brought my anxiety down more than I can say. I could feel the warmth and peace they created in my absence. I will never be able to thank them enough—and I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again in a heartbeat. Truly the dream team. 💫🐾✨”

“Julie was a great helping looking after my puppy! He was so well taken care of and it allowed me and my family to work stress free! Would 100% rebook with Julie in the future!!”

“Followed instructions and took great care of our babies!! Was communicative!! Overall, great service, super friendly, and communicative!! Appreciate Danielle's help, especially with our changing schedule with our trip.”

“Ali was a great sitter! She sent me a picture of our doggies when she arrived and let me know how things went and how the dogs got along. She left our house just as good as we did. :) Thank you, Ali! We'll book with you again.”
“We could not be happier with our decision to trust Larcy with our babies!! She house sat and watched our pups and cat while we were away for 2 weeks overseas, and we could not be more grateful for her. Larcy is incredibly communicative, responsible, attentive, and a great photographer for all the cute moments we missed while we were away! We had absolutely 0 worries while on our trip. We came home to a spotless house, a wonderful handwritten note and flowers, and a very very happy fam. Boots, Steve, and Mr. Chicken could not have been in better hands.”

“We've booked with Morgan a few times now and we're really happy every time we do. She makes sure the house is exactly like we left it, clean and well taken care of, and our little puppy girl is loved and cared for while we're gone. She's super easy going and communicates just the right amount. Morgan makes it so easy for us to take a trip when our pup can't go.”

“This is our second booking with Alexis. She did a great job again. Easy to get a hold of, and responds in a timely matter. She took care of our two boys and sent us updates. Our house was very clean when we cam back from our week trip. Would book again and again and again!!!”

“Kathi had an extended stay at our place while we were out of the country. She was professional, courteous, and provide pictures of our dogs each day. She was dependable and took care of our dogs nicely in our absence”

“Katelynn is a sweet and thoughtful sitter! She was very respectful of finding ways to help with our homecoming. She kept us informed and updated photos very well. Katelynn has a gift with animals and is missed at our home.”

“Stephanie was great with my two 9 month old pups. She was clear about setting expectations, rose to the occasion when one of the pups had an ‘incident’, kept them active with multiple walks in the day and did everything with enthusiasm and love.”

“It's hard for me to know where to begin because I have so much gratitude to express! Now that I'm back, thank you John for exceeding my expectations and ultimately, alleviating all the unnecessary anxieties and fears I definitely had prior to leaving town. It allowed me to truly be present on my trip that I have had on my life-list for some time now. So, LOTS of wins for everyone. John was so professional and courteous--he initiated a meet and greet prior to the trip. I SO appreciated that gesture. He knows the wild-child-energy well when it comes to frenchies, and I could tell he just adored them (even though Oliver was screaming at him for attention the whole time). He sent me videos, pictures, and even encouraged me to change my reservation so I didn't get overcharged. What a guy! Thank you again John! You will be hearing from us again and it'll be so great to have a consistent visitor so the dogs don't get as stressed out. I'm just over the moon and hope this review gets you more clients!!”

“Shalindra was absolutely wonderful with our pup, Kahlua, while we were away. She went above and beyond in every way, even accommodating a last-minute flight delay and staying later than planned on her birthday to make sure Kahlua was cared for. We loved receiving daily updates and photos, and it was clear Kahlua had a great time with all of the park adventures and extra attention. When we returned, Kahlua was happy, freshly bathed, and our home was spotless. Shalindra was incredibly respectful of our house and treated both our dog and our home with so much care. We felt completely at ease knowing Kahlua was in such capable hands and would gladly trust Shalindra again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Brooklin was great! She was able to watch my dog last minute on July 4th. She was very communicative and caring, especially since my dog was having a lot of anxiety about the fireworks. Would definitely hire her again!”
“Stuart did an amazing job! Gizmo was well cared for and when he got into something on the street Stuart immediately called my vet to make sure he didn’t need to come in, then promptly checked in with me. Also left my apartment very clean!”

About: 🐾 What sets me apart is my lifelong experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities, along with my hands-on experience in training, grooming, and behavior management. Growing up, I helped care for a Schipperke and later two Chihuahuas, where I developed a love for daily walks, grooming, and building strong relationships with dogs. As I got older, I wanted to expand my experience and raise a high-energy working breed, which led me to my Australian Shepherd, Bailey. 🐶 Since bringing Bailey home as a puppy 7 years ago, I’ve participated in obedience training, at-home training, 4-H, showing, herding, and swimming activities. I also learned how to groom her myself and developed a strong understanding of canine body language and behavior. Through raising her from puppyhood to adulthood, I learned how to recognize what dogs are communicating through their actions, energy levels, and routines. ❤️ I later welcomed a second Australian Shepherd, Willow, who has a completely different personality. She’s vocal, energetic, and more sensitive to certain environments, which taught me that every dog has unique needs and triggers. This experience helped me become adaptable and attentive to each dog’s individual personality. 🎓 In addition to caring for my own dogs, I’ve helped owners work on puppy house manners, basic obedience, and simple tricks. I’ve cared for dogs ranging from small companion breeds to larger breeds such as Labradors and German Shepherd mixes. ✨ Whether your dog needs an energetic walking partner, a patient sitter, reinforcement of good manners, or simply someone who understands their unique personality, I strive to provide care that makes them feel safe, understood, and loved. Pet care is already a major part of my daily and weekly routine. As the owner of two Australian Shepherds and a young cat, I’m used to planning my schedule around feeding times, exercise, playtime, grooming, and providing companionship. 🐶 My dogs receive daily walks and enrichment activities, and I regularly brush and groom them to keep them comfortable and healthy. My cat also gets dedicated playtime and attention throughout the day. Caring for pets isn’t something I fit in when I have spare time—it’s already an important part of my lifestyle. Because I’m accustomed to caring for animals with different personalities and energy levels, adding pet sitting, drop-in visits, or walks fits naturally into my routine. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, whether that means going on a long walk, playing fetch, providing enrichment, or simply keeping a pet company while their owner is away. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I do my best to maintain their normal routines and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Whether I’m caring for pets in my own home or a client’s home, my goal is to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I start by learning about each pet’s schedule, personality, preferences, and any special instructions. I want to know things like feeding routines, exercise needs, favorite activities, medications, areas they are allowed in, and any behaviors or triggers I should be aware of. For dogs, I provide walks, playtime, potty breaks, enrichment, and plenty of companionship. I’m experienced with both high-energy dogs, like my Australian Shepherds, and more laid-back dogs who prefer a slower pace. I also reinforce house manners and any training routines owners are already working on. For cats, I make sure they have fresh food and water, clean litter boxes, playtime, and attention based on their comfort level. As a cat owner myself, I understand that some cats love to socialize while others prefer their space, and I adjust my care accordingly. I also pay close attention to a pet’s behavior and body language. After raising dogs and cats with very different personalities, I’ve learned how important it is to recognize when a pet is excited, nervous, tired, overstimulated, or simply wants affection. Above all, I treat every pet as if they were my own by providing a safe environment, consistent care, lots of love, and regular updates to owners so they can feel confident while they’re away.

“Our dogs fell in love with Isabel right away! She has a calming energy and is so attentive to their body language. She did great balancing our high energy puppy on top of caring for our senior dog with very specific needs recovering from a CCL repair. Can’t wait to use her again in the future!!”

“Joley kept me updated with my pets throughout her stay, sending photos, videos and texts on how they were doing. I came back to a house that was tidy, and 2 very happy pets. My cat was calm and my dog was content. Could not ask for more.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - O'Brien
She was amazing. Very thoughtful with sending pictures of our beloved Bleu when we were on vacation. The house was exactly the way we left it clean and tidy. She even did a few extra things! We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a dog/house sitter and we would be happy to utilize her services again!
Gerald was great — the dogs were super happy and relaxed with him. He took them to the dog park and lots of walks, and it sounded like a fun time for all. He is very communicative and responsive, and heeded my notes and instructions for the dogs. Overall I very much recommend!

Felicia and Branden are fantastic! This was our second time booking with them and our first time using them for house/dog sitting. It was so nice to know that our high energy dogs had sitters that know how to help them burn off that energy and keep them safe while we were away. They went the extra mile by bringing in some big packages that I wasn't expecting to arrive 3 days early and communicated all along the way. We came home to a clean house and happy buddies.

We had a wonderful experience with Raven. She was a great communicator, kept our home clean and well cared for, and took such amazing care of our pup while we were away. She also sent lots of pictures of all the cuddles and walks, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing our girl was happy and in such good hands. We would absolutely use Raven again and highly recommend her!

Cassie was nothing short of amazing! We have an older pup who is hard to leave with anyone who doesn’t u destined her and some needy kitty’s. Cassie stayed at our house and cared for our animals and our house like it was her own. I can’t feel you how much it made our vacation better knowing that everything was in great hands. And coming home was a breeze! I will definitely be reaching out to her in the future when we need a sitter!

Lisel took great care of my pets, and kept in regular touch with updates and pictures. When I returned home the animals were all happy and well looked after. She even got my skittish/shy cat to warm up to her! I’m very happy and hope that for my next trip out of town, Lisel will be available to watch my furry family

Kathi, our pup sitter, was incredibly attentive and caring when taking care of our pups overnight. She was punctual in her arrival and promptly sent us pictures of how they were doing. We thoroughly enjoyed having her watch them and would definitely book her again for another time. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pup sitter!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred O'Brien walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in O'Brien maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in O'Brien choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
