“Querhea did a great job taking care of our dogs! One of our dogs required a lot of eye medication and she ensured it was done exactly on time. She provided regular updates and left our house spotless.”

“Laurie did a fantastic job taking care of my dog, Jack Sparrow, while I was out of town. She provided me with frequent updates on how my little guy was doing and took excellent care of my home. I wouldn't hesitate to request her again and would give her the highest recommendation to any of my friends and family!”

“Blanca was amazing. She was so patient with our nervous and anxious dog. All of our animals, cats and dogs, received their medicine and all special food needs were met.”
“Winta never fails to give the best care for our pups and we appreciate it so so much. Leia always gets excited when we mention Winta is coming over to hang out! Even our grumbly old boy, Khan, loves getting to spend time with them! Always a highly recommended option for pet sitting!”

About: I’ve taken care of lots of family, friend, and neighborhood pets, ranging from young kittens and puppies to senior animals. I’ve kept both overnight and done drop by visits for potty breaks and play time. I even raised my cat scarlet along with her 3 siblings and mother who gave birth on our front porch until the kitties were old enough to find separate homes. I am currently an online student, so my schedule is highly flexible. Occasionally I will have days carved out for events, birthdays, or just catching up on school work, but feel free to message and double check my availability as these days “off ”are often flexible! I have a large fenced yard, no dogs, and one big lazy indoor cat. I have space if dogs need to be crated, and a spare bedroom should an animal need to be isolated (i.e. medical reasons or safety concerns)
“Rex did an amazing job watching our home and pups. Our pups don't get along so it's tough for us to find someone willing to take on that responsibility. She made sure our dogs were safe and had plenty of attention. Our house was also taken care and clean. We highly recommend Rex and will be contacting her for future trips.”
“Amber is great! Our dog needs someone who wants to play and be active. She also helped us with a few other things we needed. We will be using her to dog sit again.”

“This was the second time that Bertha has cared for my dog while I was away. She did such a great job the first time that I knew she would do great again. My dog, Grace, adores Bertha. She was in good hands, so I did not have to worry about much. I would absolutely call on Bertha again for my next house sitting.”

“Ann did an awesome job taking care of our old girl. She kept us updated and sent us pictures. She took great care of our home and even kept my flowers alive. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing our sweet old pup was in good hands.”
About: I have an uncanny way with animals. It's as if I can read their body language and provide whatever they need. Loving on babies is clinically proven to release stress and I truly believe it works. I'm currently working on starting a floral business and I need the flexibility to work when I can. This is very flexible and it fits what I need. I have a rescue dog with high anxiety and over 4 years she is now acting how dogs act. I have a rescue dog I found tied to a tree, she's deaf and just about blind. It only took me a month and she completely came out of her shell. She now follows me everywhere I go and wags her tail, constantly. I found a baby kitten that was about 5wks old screaming under my car. It took me 4 days for him to allow me to pick him up and bring him inside. It only took 3 days of me showering him with love and now he thinks he runs the house, even though he's the smallest out of everyone.
“Kimari did great with my pets, she was very respectful of my home and patient with my dog who sometimes barks at strangers. I got photo updates daily and came home to a happy dog and cat!”

“Maya was our very first experience with Rover and it couldn't have been any better! She was thorough in her preparation to stay in our home with our 2 Bostons for 5 nights, asking about individual behaviors and quirks. She sent photos and daily updates, which are always appreciated. Even with a one night power outage, she "powered" through. Her personality is infectious and of course our guys loved her. It was really a wonderful alternative to a boarding facility where, although I know they are taken care of, the anxiety level they have when they are left, during the stay and the residual effects when they return are non-existent having Maya stay in-house. We hope to have quite a long partnership with Maya and Rover.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Katherine caring for Charlie! From the beginning, communication was excellent, and it was clear that Charlie was in caring and capable hands. We appreciated the updates, photos, and attention given to his needs while we were away. Charlie was happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which gave us great peace of mind. It’s not always easy leaving your pet with someone else, but this experience exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend Katherine to other pet parents looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely caring.”

“Ambar is absolutely the best! Sammy and Winston love her and she did an amazing job caring for them. They can be a little demanding at times and she handled them perfectly. She gave us great updates and pics and we were at ease the whole time we were on vacation. It is so nice to be on vacation and not stress about the dogs back home. Thank you Ambar!”

About: I’ve had a pet for 9 years. My dog’s name was Nayla and she currently lives with my family. I always walked Nayla because she was part blue heeler/ part husky which means she had a lot of energy. I work a 9-5 job and I live with roommates. I can care for your best friend on Saturday & Sunday. I won’t be able to board dogs since I live with roommates. However I can house sit, drop in visits and walk your dog. I work a 9-5 job and I live with roommates. I can care for your best friend on Saturday & Sunday. I can housesit as well! I won’t be able to board dogs since I live with roommates.
“Haven is by far the best dog sitter I’ve ever had- I can’t recommend her enough. She is always so communicative and helpful while I’m gone and has even helped with a leak I had while away. She sends lots of pictures/videos and goes above and beyond with care instructions! She even leaves me food and sweet notes to come home to. Thankful for her!”

“Nita did an awesome job watching my 3 pups. She sent plenty of pictures which really eased my mind. I can be over the top with my dogs and really felt comfortable having Nita at the house watching the dogs. I will definitely use her again.”
“Sabrina did an amazing job taking care of my 2 dogs and cats. She sent texts and photos everyday to check in and was super communicative. I know she took great care of them because when I got home, my anxious dog acted like I hadn’t even been gone!”

“Renee and her family are always amazing with our dogs. They genuinely care and treat them like their own! This time we needed a house sitter for a night and we could not be happier with our experience. Our dogs were so happy and loved. We will always recommend them!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arlington
Our pups had a wonderful experience while we were away. We have hired a few different Rovers to take care of them but there was always a level of anxiety. Sometimes they would not eat or stay in certain rooms but not this time. Bigs thanks to Renee for a wonderful experience.

We had such a wonderful experience with Kyra caring for our dog Dewey and cat Lily while staying at our home. She was incredibly communicative from start to finish, sending my partner and me detailed updates twice a day along with tons of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. What really stood out was how thoughtful and attentive she was — she asked great questions, paid close attention to routines and details, and it was obvious she genuinely cared about both of our pets equally. It can sometimes feel like one pet naturally gets more attention than the other, but she made both Dewey and Lily feel so loved and cared for. We came home to happy pets and a well cared-for home, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and detail-oriented.

Zaida provided excellent care for our dogs while we were out of country on vacation for five days. We have a dog who can be fear-reactive to new people, and she took the time to do a drop-in to ensure a positive first meeting before we even booked. We truly appreciated her patience! She was very professional and communicative throughout the entire process. The daily updates and photos were great, and we felt totally at ease. We will definitely book with her again!

Angela was heaven sent. I just recently lost my pug, one week before she was due to take care of both of my babies. Her kindness to my Sheba knowing that she was sad she showed her so much love attention to the point when I got home Sheba was crying for her at door! Angela you’re apart of our pack now Sheba said so lol. She has great heart . Thank you for helping me .
Amber is a wonderful person! She loves our sweet pup as much as we do. She feels like one of the family! She stayed at our home for two weeks and we had no worries. She always leaves things as good as, or better than, when we left. And she is a wonderful communicator in words and pictures.

Reagan was so good with our boy, Ricky Bobby!! Ricky Bobby has a few quirks like most dogs do, but one of his more notable ones is that he tends to anxiety chew on himself when we’re out of the house, and sometimes breaks skin if not stopped. Reagan did a fantastic job watching out for this behavior and kept him calm and content through her time in our home. Reagan was also very communicative throughout the visit and sent multiple pictures and updates of the goings on. Overall, we could tell that Ricky Bobby was very comfortable and happy to be hanging out with his newest bestie Reagan, and we’re glad to have found another trustworthy sitter that loves our dog as much as we do!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arlington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arlington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
