“Madeline was available last minute and made me feel safe leaving my kitties behind for a few days. She sent pictures of each of them to me and made me feel they were loved and well taken care of while I was gone. I highly recommend Madeline to anyone needing help, especially those who may need extra cuddles or medication needs!”

“Ashley was fantastic! I was gone for 6 nights and needed someone who could stay each night with my senior baby. She kept me updated, the house clean and did a great job communicating and sent pics! I would recommend Ashley for being on time, trusting her with other fur babies and she has a great professionalism.”

“Keri was absolutely fantastic! She took great care of my home and my cat while I was away. Communication was consistent and thoughtful, with regular updates and photos that gave me total peace of mind. My cat was clearly happy, comfortable, and well cared for when I returned, and my house was in perfect condition. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy sitter, and I would gladly book them again.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Katherine caring for Charlie! From the beginning, communication was excellent, and it was clear that Charlie was in caring and capable hands. We appreciated the updates, photos, and attention given to his needs while we were away. Charlie was happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which gave us great peace of mind. It’s not always easy leaving your pet with someone else, but this experience exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend Katherine to other pet parents looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely caring.”

“Jose was so great! He took great care of our fur babies while we were out of town. He house sat for us and was very clean and followed all instructions on taking care of our babies. We have him booked again and know 100% we can trust him and will be booking him anytime we go out of town if he’s available 😊”
“Kaylee was wonderful! She communicated very well and paid attention to every detail. I could tell Picasso had a great time and was well cared for because, after Kaylee left, he slept for almost two hours—something that rarely happens because of his separation anxiety. I would definitely trust Kaylee with Picasso again and will absolutely be using her services in the future!”

“There are not enough words to express how grateful we are for Rebekah. Before leaving for vacation, our dog Annie had a medical procedure on her ear. While we were out of the country, Annie’s condition worsened and she needed surgery. Rebekah handled the situation with professionalism, compassion, and genuine love for Annie. She worked closely with our veterinarian throughout the entire process, sending photos of Annie’s ear that helped us and the vet make important treatment decisions from thousands of miles away. She took Annie to her surgery, brought her safely home, and managed all of her post-operative care. Rebekah adapted Annie’s feeding area so she could comfortably eat while wearing her large protective cone. She kept us updated with frequent photos and videos, giving us tremendous peace of mind while we were overseas. She even created several instructional videos before we returned home so we would know exactly what had been working for Annie’s recovery, including how to manage the cone and care for her ear. Rebekah also took wonderful care of our home. She washed the linens, took out the trash, and even cleaned Annie’s potty area in the yard before we returned. We came home to a recovering dog who had been loved and cared for as if she were Rebekah’s own, and to a home that was spotless and welcoming. What could have been a nightmare while we were out of the country became manageable because of Rebekah’s dedication, communication, and kindness. We wholeheartedly recommend Rebekah to anyone looking for a pet and house sitter. She went far above and beyond anything we could have expected, and we will always be grateful for the extraordinary care she provided to Annie and our home.”

“This was my first time having someone house sit. I was nervous but after meeting Nita and seeing how the dogs loved her first sight put my mind at ease. I think they got a little spoiled with the food topper she made them, now they expect me to do it (lol). She kept me updated by sending me pics and videos. I was able to go enjoy my birthday knowing that my babies were taking care of. I would most definitely recommend Ms. Nita and use her again in the future.”

“We could not be any happier with Maya! She communicates well and keeps you updated as much as you want. She took great care of all three of my fur babies. I will definitely utilize her to care for my pets again. She stayed in our home and left it better than she found it.”
“Christian and Jasmine were great dog sitters! They kept us updated every single day. They were very communicative and loved on our pups so well while we were away. We will book them again in the future.”

“Sandra was great with my pets. I have a senior cat and senior dog. Both of them were relaxed and content when I got back from my trip. I'm glad I decided to have Sandra stay over versus doing visits because I think it made a big difference in reducing the stress of my absence to my pets. Sandra is also clearly experienced with pets and managed my pets feeding habits very well. I'm very happy to have found someone I can trust with my older pets.”
“Claudia was absolutely amazing. Our pups loved her and she did an incredible job making Riley comfortable. She made sure to take them on walks multiple times a day. Will definitely be calling up if we need another sitter!”

My 2dogs/1 cat were in great hands with Michaela. She sent an update and pictures everytime she visited! Them being at home, going to nearby dog park, and playing really helped with their comfort and happiness. I appreciate her attentiveness and had good peace of mind while away. I will be contacting her again for future bookings.

Claudia was amazing, she did more than she had to , she was supposed to take care of Picasso at my place and I had a family loss and she was able to take him with her to her place so I could do my emergency travel. I have no words to express all she did I will be forever grateful!

J was awesome. We contacted J last minutes because our normal sitter cancelled. J was willing to stay in our home overnight for 9 days/8 nights. J took awesome care of our two schnauzers, sending us daily pictures and updates. J also took care of our home including the pool. We highly recommend J!

Amy was a wonderful sitter! We were gone for 4 days and she continuously sent us updates and pictures! When we came home the dogs were so happy to see us and the house was just as we left it. We will definitely be using her again for our doggies because they absolutely LOVED her!

Awesome!! Highly recommend!! Claire house sat for us and took care of our 3 dogs while we took a long, much needed vacation. We were apprehensive having someone we didn't know stay at the house and care for our pups but our fears were unfounded. She was able to help us out on short notice and during 4th of July. She showed on time for our first meeting and was early on the day we left. Communication was excellent and she sent photos twice a day. This was our first time using Rover and we couldn't be happier with the decision. Thank you Claire.
Miranda was exceptional from start to finish. We were away for two weeks and trusted her to care for our 3 dogs, and she exceeded every expectation. Miranda's level of professionalism, consistency, and reliability gave us peace of mind while we were on vacation. Miranda also sent us photos of the dogs every day, which we really appreciated. It was reassuring to see them happy, comfortable, and being so well cared for while we were away. We would book Miranda again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for outstanding care for their pets.

Very dependable, communication was great and she is very nice and responsible. She took great care of my puppy while I was away and spent a good amount of time with him on walks and played a lot. I appreciate Iman and would definitely book again a great sitter! 🐾💛

Natalie was very attentive, trusting and also gave updates consistently through the stay. She also made sure he got lots of play time and walks and followed my instructions of care great. Thank you again for being so caring and a great sitter for my puppy! Definitely would book again to care for Kaine.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hurst walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hurst maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hurst choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hurst. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
