About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 5 years and have experience with dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve cared for senior dogs who needed medications, softened food, extra patience, and gentle handling to keep them comfortable. I understand how important routines are, so I’m happy to follow your dog’s feeding schedule, walking routine, medication instructions, and any special care they need. Whether your dog is energetic and playful or prefers a calm day with lots of cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away. I’ll also send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in good hands. I work full-time as a Certified Surgical Technologist at Baylor Surgicare and am also a nursing student, so I understand the importance of responsibility, time management, and sticking to a routine. I’m off every Thursday and have the most availability on weekends since I don’t work then. Caring for pets fits well into my schedule, and I enjoy spending my free time walking, playing with, and giving dogs the attention they deserve. I’ll make sure your pet receives plenty of love, care, and updates while you’re away. When caring for your dog in your home, my priority is keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I’ll carefully follow your feeding schedule, walking routine, medication instructions, and any special requests to ensure your pet feels comfortable while you’re away. I have experience caring for senior dogs that require medications and softened food, so I’m attentive to each dog’s individual needs. I’ll treat your home with the same respect I would my own and provide regular photo and message updates so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

Ann K. was amazing with my senior pets. I knew as soon as I returned that they had been given attention and were cared for lovingly. They were relaxed and happy to see me. It was also clear that my home was kept clean. Ann has excellent communication skills and asked all the right questions about caring for my pets and my home. I just hope she is available the next time I go out of town.

Cassidy is amazing!! I have two high energy border collies and she took such amazing care of them. Cassidy treated them as if they were her own giving them lots and lots of play time and followed the instructions we left perfectly. Even going above and beyond and helping with packages and other things! I appreciated having a sitter like her so much!! I got lots of updates and great pictures of the dogs throughout the stay. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for impeccable dog care!

About: I’ve owned animals of many kinds since I was born, and been a primary caretaker since I was about 10! I’ve been trusted to care for animals of every age - from rambunctious puppies and kittens to seniors who need a little more patience - and every size, whether it be a giant dog or a fragile kitten. I understand the importance of individual care, so I am ready to learn all about your animals and adapt to their needs. Additionally, I am a Certified Veterinary Assistant and have experience with many basic care skills. I am familiar with routine care such as feeding routines, walking, bathing, and training. I have ample experience with oral, injectable, and topical medications, and can confidently administer first aid if necessary. Additionally, I am ready to slow down and give extra care to any senior or special needs animal who may need a little more attention. I hope to make every pet feel as safe and comfortable as possible while in my care, and will make sure to keep you updated with pictures! I currently don’t work, so I’ll have plenty of time to care for your pets. They can have my full attention, I can make frequent visits, or just drop by every once in a while, whatever works best! Saturdays I am not available for walks, but I am happy to sit through the weekend if needed! While I don’t offer sitting in my home due to my own dogs, I am confident I can adapt to whatever routine your animals are used to in your home. Whether they are high maintenance or totally chill, I am willing to provide whatever necessary to make sitting as stress-free as possible!

About: I grew up with a yellow Lab and a German Shorthaired Pointer, so caring for dogs has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the past 10 years, I’ve cared for puppies, senior dogs, anxious dogs, large dogs, and multiple dogs at once. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, bathing, crate and potty-training routines, overnight stays, and giving medications, including pills, topical treatments, ear drops, and injections. I’m currently a law student living in downtown Fort Worth. I’m responsible, communicative, and great at following detailed instructions, but I’m also someone who will give your dog plenty of love and attention while you’re away. Taking care of animals is second nature for me! I can check in as often as every three hours when needed and stay overnight with your pet. I know pets are just as much a part of the family as anyone else, and I consider it an honor and a big responsibility when someone trusts me to care for a member of their family. I’ll also send plenty of pictures and updates so you never have to wonder how your furry family member is doing! As a law student, my schedule looks a little different each day, but I have enough flexibility to plan around your dog’s normal routine. I can check in as often as every three hours throughout the day if needed, and I am available to stay overnight in your home. Before I accept a booking, I’ll make sure I understand exactly what your dog needs and that my schedule will allow me to give them the time and attention they deserve. I know pets are just as much a part of the family as anyone else, so I understand what a big deal it is to trust someone else with their care. I will always take the time to learn your dog’s normal routine and carefully follow any instructions you leave for me. I’m comfortable caring for puppies, senior dogs, anxious dogs, large dogs, and multiple dogs at once, as well as giving medications when needed. I’ll treat your dog like a member of my own family, take great care of your home, and send plenty of pictures and updates while you’re away!

Madeline & Isaiah are so great! They took care of our pups just like their own and were very diligent with their feeding & overall care. Super communicative and trustworthy. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for in home dog sitting or even drop ins! They routinely do both visit types for us and we truly can’t give them enough praises for how well they take care of our fur babies.

Kaylee was wonderful! She communicated very well and paid attention to every detail. I could tell Picasso had a great time and was well cared for because, after Kaylee left, he slept for almost two hours—something that rarely happens because of his separation anxiety. I would definitely trust Kaylee with Picasso again and will absolutely be using her services in the future!

Sydnee is a life savor. I don’t trust anyone with my two Dobermans that are truly my two kids, but I fully trust her. She truly loves your pets like her own and there’s no need to worry when she is watching them. When my Doberman was healing from his multiple surgeries, she took the absolute best care of him when I had to leave him to return to work. I can’t stress enough that she is definitely the person you want watching your furry loved ones. 🐾 🤍

FAQs for House Sitting - Melody Hills

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Melody Hills on Rover is $27.75 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 4,209 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Melody Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Melody Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Melody Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Melody Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Melody Hills. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
