“Kaylan was a delight and Tibby responded to her very well. She was prompt and took good care with meds, food, walking and keeping my senior fragile pup safe and clean. Thanks Kaylan!”

“J was terrific with our dog, Jackie. They took excellent care of her and sent regular updates and photos. We were so happy to have them stay in our home and not have to board our dog.”

About: I've always had animas since I was young! All breeds of dogs, cats, hamsters, and we even had 5 llamas!! I've watched over several of my neighbor's dogs and dogs of all ages. I’ve trained two dogs and use the bell system for all my dogs. I currently have two cats! Fluff balls. I have always been open to watching dogs, feeding, walking, and house sitting while families are away. We've fostered many liters of kittens! I am very flexible with my job and location. Depending on the need we can make something work! Open to weekends and special cases too. I’ll care for various animal! I am open to different requests and would treat any animal like my own. Let me know what your needs are and we can make things work!
“Peggy was wonderful! She was so sweet and patient with our little goofballs. Both dogs and the house were very well cared for. We would definitely recommend Peggy to others and will book her again for sure👍🏻👍🏻”

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs alike. Growing up in a house of several cats and dogs at a time, I am no stranger to the needs of animals. We had strays outside which I took care of and even brought a few cats into our home. Neighbors and friends have asked me to house sit before. I love exercising and engaging pets with toys and play to keep them healthy. I have administered medications and treatments before. I have owned many cats and dogs and will treat your animal with the same love and tenderness as my own. I’m currently unemployed, so I have open availability to accommodate your schedule and look after your pups and cats. Unfortunately I live in an apartment and can not board animals, but I am willing to come to you and stay with your dog or cat in his/hers comfortable environment. I can drop by your house and spend several hours a day with your cat or dog, feeding and entertaining. I am able to walk dogs several times a day.
“Claudia was absolutely amazing. Our pups loved her and she did an incredible job making Riley comfortable. She made sure to take them on walks multiple times a day. Will definitely be calling up if we need another sitter!”

“This was our second time having Avery house/pup sit and we couldn’t ask for a better experience! Very attentive and great communication will definitely use her again!”

“Ashley was absolutely amazing!!! She was so wonderful with my old man hound dog. There is something about her that animals just love! My cat, who is afraid of basically everyone, immediately went up to her for pets and cuddles!! She was very professional and responsive and sent a lot of updates the whole week. I could not recommend her more!!!”

“Once again, Jessica was simply amazing! Bella absolutely loves her and it makes me feel so reassured that she is being well taken care of and loved while I'm gone. Jessica keeps me up to date with pictures and texts which brings me joy when I'm away. I could not give anyone a higher recommendation!”

“So far my experience with Yorgina has been awesome. She is very attentive to my 6 month old puppies needs! I gave her a long list of things to do to help keep my puppy behaving well and she did everything needed. I know a puppy is a lot of work, and mine is very high energy so if she wasn't doing what was needed my puppy would have been getting into lots of things. She sent lots of photos throughout the day, and kept me updated. She clearly enjoys taking care of her and my dog clearly likes her as well! Highly recommend!”

“Cady has been such a savior for us and we cannot say enough good things about her! My pup had an injury and less than 10 hours from when we had to leave we needed someone to care for her 24/7 as she could not walk properly and was in pain. Cady responded immediately and even made time in her schedule for a quick visit so we could all get acquainted. She went above and beyond for our pup even helping us communicate with the vet and get medication. She gave her the attention and care she needed and helped nurse her back to her normal self. It broke our heart leaving our pup in that state but Cady was constantly checking in and providing updates and being flexible with our pups need. I will be thankful for how she stepped in so last minute and provided top tier care and will definitely be contacting her and recommending her to care for any furry friends!”

About: I’ve been around animals since I was little. I’ve always loved being around them!! This started out as something fun & quickly grew into one of my greatest passions. I’m currently in school online. My free time is used up by baking, cooking, or walking. I am left with plenty of free time so what better way to use it than to take fur babies on walks!! I think of our pets as humans. They’re loving, supportive, funny animals. All they show is love so why not show it back. 🐾 💕🐾 💕🐾
“Taliyah was fantastic with Freya and Maybella! She made sure to provide consistent updates while maintaining responsibilities of what was requested. Will be using Taliyah again for the future!”

“Querhea did a great job taking care of our dogs! One of our dogs required a lot of eye medication and she ensured it was done exactly on time. She provided regular updates and left our house spotless.”

“Ann was absolutely incredible! Our English Bulldogs can be a bit high-maintenance, but she took exceptional care of them. She stayed in constant communication while we were away, sending daily updates, photos, and videos. Seeing how much fun they were having made it so much easier for us to relax on our trip. She even went above and beyond by helping prepare our home for the winter storm that hit while we were gone. Ann was truly a blessing, and our boys already can't wait to see her again 😊”

“Amy was a wonderful sitter! We were gone for 4 days and she continuously sent us updates and pictures! When we came home the dogs were so happy to see us and the house was just as we left it. We will definitely be using her again for our doggies because they absolutely LOVED her!”

J was awesome. We contacted J last minutes because our normal sitter cancelled. J was willing to stay in our home overnight for 9 days/8 nights. J took awesome care of our two schnauzers, sending us daily pictures and updates. J also took care of our home including the pool. We highly recommend J!

Miranda was exceptional from start to finish. We were away for two weeks and trusted her to care for our 3 dogs, and she exceeded every expectation. Miranda's level of professionalism, consistency, and reliability gave us peace of mind while we were on vacation. Miranda also sent us photos of the dogs every day, which we really appreciated. It was reassuring to see them happy, comfortable, and being so well cared for while we were away. We would book Miranda again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for outstanding care for their pets.

Very dependable, communication was great and she is very nice and responsible. She took great care of my puppy while I was away and spent a good amount of time with him on walks and played a lot. I appreciate Iman and would definitely book again a great sitter! 🐾💛

Natalie was very attentive, trusting and also gave updates consistently through the stay. She also made sure he got lots of play time and walks and followed my instructions of care great. Thank you again for being so caring and a great sitter for my puppy! Definitely would book again to care for Kaine.

Literally the BEST! It was my first time ever getting a sitter for my tortoise, she did amazing with him. She asked questions and went above and beyond for my little guy! She even sent pictures so I could see he was doing well; definitely a 10/10 person and 20/10 service!

Lauren watched Molly for a week and she was wonderful! Molly was so relaxed when we got home and it was a blessing not to have to break her routine. Lauren walked and played with Molly every day. She is kind and thoughtful. We loved having her in our home and will definitely use her again! I recommend Lauren 100 percent.

Melissa was absolutely fantastic. She was very punctual, attentive and caring. She communicated very well about Chacha’s general well being and eating habits. Melissa treated Chacha as her own, allowing me to get away without worrying about how Chacha was doing. I would recommend Melissa to anyone and will use her again in the future.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Richland Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Richland Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Richland Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
