“John did a great job watching over Boog & our house. We are so thankful for the amazing communication and that we didn’t have to worry all week about our dog! Highly recommend & we will use him again when needed!”

“Winta was amazing with our two pups - she found creative ways to keep them entertained with it being so hot outside, and sent lots of updates with adorable pictures. She was super responsive and proactive in her communication, and went the extra mile to leave our house in tip top shape. Couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Hunter is great and my dogs love him. I would highly recommend hunter for anyone that is looking for house sitting. This is ideal for our dogs because they are used to someone being home with them most of the time and at night so I can go on vacation and not worry that my fur babies are stressed rather I know they are in good hands and having a fun time with Hunter!”

“Shanda was amazing!! I am so thankful we found her and that she was even available to be with Riggs over Thanksgiving. It’s already so sad to leave him, but we were traveling to Atlanta to see our friends. She took such amazing care of him and was a true professional. Lots of amazing photos and videos. I think Riggs was in a “love drunk” slumber when we returned. So calm, happy, and relaxed when we came through the door. Extra special care was given and we could definitely tell he loved his time with Shanda. He is such a sweetie to begin with, but he was extra sweet that night. Which means he had lots of attention and love. Thank you again!!”

“Uma really cared for my pups. It can be hard to leave your fur babies but Uma made sure they were loved, fed, walked and kept company. It was a great relief knowing someone was taking such good care.”

About: For 16 years I've taken care of hundred's of Dogs at CBW and before that volunteered at dfw humane society since I was a kid. I treat all dogs like they are my dogs At Work Im always on my feet never on my cell phone my job is to play with the dogs and make sure they get along with the other dogs in my care at my previous job it was 1 person to 15 dogs and I always had a favorite I'll love on them make sure they get plenty of play time and long walks at least a mile or longer to make sure they are good and tired
“Blanca was amazing. She was so patient with our nervous and anxious dog. All of our animals, cats and dogs, received their medicine and all special food needs were met.”
“Chanel was wonderful will my babies. She watched all five of my animals (2 dogs and 3 cats) so she definitely had her hands full and she was still able to send me updates multiple times a day. My babies loved her and I will definitely be using her services again.”

About: I have had a pet ever since I can remember! I can walk, pet sit, or anything that your furry friend might need. I also speak Spanish! I recently graduated from college and moved to the area for a new job. I’m available during nights and weekends to help you and your furry family members! I will make sure that your pet is taken care of - there is no task too small or too big! Safety always comes first, then the fun!
“Michael is a life saver! One of our dogs got kennel cough 4 days before we were leaving the country during the holidays. I was in a panic! I heard about Rover and I began to look for someone who could take care of our sick pup. Michael was so responsive and even came over that very day to meet me and meet our dog. He took a very anxiety ridden moment for me and a squashed the situation in a matter of hours. He sent updates the entire trip. Our dog was crazy about him. He took great care of our house. Very trustworthy, and we will definitely use him again. This day and age to find someone who is communicative, kind, and trustworthy is a rare treat and a total blessing. I highly recommend him.”

About: I have been watching animals for years. I am active and love to bring dogs to the park to burn off energy. A tired dog is a good dog! I have cared for puppies and for elderly-dogs, so I can manage pretty much anything. Animals love me and I am loving/responsible with them. My parents and brother don't like leaving town unless their dogs are with me! I can offer walks, meds if they need, feeding, love, the dog park, etc! My weekends are totally open so I am able to provide house sitting and drop in visits at any time. I am very active so if your animal is in need of some activity, I will be their best friend! I have no dogs because I am not ready to care full time for my own yet. However, I take care of my parent's dogs and my brother's all the time. They are extremely needy breeds, so I know the kind of attention pets require. I am missing having furry friends around all the time (since moving out). I also own a kitty kat of my own ♥️ I am able to give medicine, take them on walks, offer boarding, feed them. Whatever is needed!
“Amy was amazing! She took great care of our girl and made sure our picky eater was happy, and kept us updated the whole time. We came home to a clean house and a very content pup - highly recommend her!”

“Alice provided wonderful care to my dog and 2 cats. She went above and beyond from start to finish. The regular updates gave me complete peace of mind — it was clear our animals were happy, comfortable, and in great hands. She also treated my home with total respect. Everything was exactly as I left it when I returned. You can tell she genuinely loves animals and takes her responsibility seriously. We will absolutely book her again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and caring pet sitter.”
“Matt looked after my two dogs for 12 days while I was out of the country. He sent me pictures and updates all throughout my trip. His consistent communication really put me at ease and made me feel like my dogs were well cared for. I returned home to a clean house- he vacuumed and had tidied up, even taking the trash out. I plan to book with him again and would definitely recommend him to care for your pets!”

“Ashley was wonderful with Biscuit! She took great care of him while I was out for the evening and gave me peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. She was reliable, communicative, and very kind. I would definitely book with her again. Thank you, Ashley! 🐾💕”

About: I am fully retired and dogsitting is my only job. Therefore no distractions and your dog will get my full attention. You also get three pairs of eyes. I’m a mom and a wife! My husband and daughter stay at home. If your pet is okay with family vibes we would be a perfect fit! Growing up on a farm, I was surrounded by animals of all kinds—cows, goats, chickens, dogs, and more. Caring for them wasn’t just a chore; it was a way of life. Because of that, taking care of pets comes naturally to me. Whether it’s feeding, grooming, or just giving them the love and attention they need, I instinctively know how to handle animals with patience and care. Beyond basic pet sitting, I have experience training puppies, caring for senior pets, and handling animals with special needs. Whether your pet needs extra playtime, a structured routine, or gentle care in their older years, I’m here to make sure they’re comfortable, happy, and well cared for. We don’t do big dogs for boarding we focus on 0-15 lbs or something close. Pet care isn’t just something I do—it’s my main job and my passion. Since I grew up on a farm caring for animals every day, looking after pets feels like second nature to me. Now, as a professional pet sitter, my daily and weekly routine revolves around making sure every pet I care for is happy, healthy, and well looked after. From morning walks and feeding schedules to playtime, training, and even senior pet care, I tailor my days to fit each pet’s unique needs. Whether it’s a midday check-in, an overnight stay, or specialized care, I’m fully dedicated to giving pets the love and attention they need while their owners are away.
“Bridget is a kind, energetic, conscientious caretaker! Lucy has never been so relaxed when we arrived home. We booked immediately after her interview which was about a month out. Bridget requested coming back over to walk Lucy a week before our trip so Lucy would be more comfortable when we left. Bridget wanted to arrive at our home early so that she’d have some time with Lucy while we were still here. She also stayed until we arrived home to give us a report of how the stay went. While we were gone, Bridget sent us several photos of Lucy. Bridget is a true professional and a huge animal lover. Lucy is a senior dog that requires medication. Bridget didn’t hesitate. We would highly recommend her services. In fact, we are already rebooking!”

I don’t think that I could’ve got a better dog sitter. I had someone else cancel on me the day before we’re supposed to leave for an 8 day trip. From start to finish Taia was wonderful with taking care of my dogs. She sent pictures, updates and when we came back the apartment looked the exact same if no better than how we left it. I’m going to book her for every stay from here on out!!!
Winta was amazing with our two pups - she found creative ways to keep them entertained with it being so hot outside, and sent lots of updates with adorable pictures. She was super responsive and proactive in her communication, and went the extra mile to leave our house in tip top shape. Couldn’t recommend her more!

Neha did a wonderful job with Rigby and Mordecai. She followed their routine perfectly, kept me in the loop, and reached out whenever she had a question or concerns. The boys got plenty of cuddles and care while she was here. We’d happily have her watch them again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Irving walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Irving maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Irving choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
