“Bree did a great job with our two pups, Leonard (Lab) and Lola (Corgi-mix), and we highly recommend her. She stayed at the house while we were away and left it as clean, if not cleaner, than when we left. She walked the dogs, took them to the dog park, and bathed them and kept us in the loop with videos and photographs of their adventures. Bree is very responsive to texts and punctual. She's also a joy to be around and we felt very comfortable having her in our home.”

“John was able to watch our 3 cats on short notice. He followed complex feeding instructions to make sure that our cat with behavioral issues was fed on a regular schedule in a variety of special feeders. He was also very responsive and a pleasure to work with.”

“Excellent sitter. On time kept us informed on how things were going and very friendly and dependable. Wouldn’t hesitate to welcome. Lanka back whenever we are in town.”

“Winta was amazing with our two pups - she found creative ways to keep them entertained with it being so hot outside, and sent lots of updates with adorable pictures. She was super responsive and proactive in her communication, and went the extra mile to leave our house in tip top shape. Couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Alexis did a great job house sitting and watching my Shiba Inu, Yuki. She took good care of Yuki each day and ensured she had plenty of interaction including walks and treat time. Alexis also did a great job of keeping me informed of Yuki’s daily activities and sent pictures. I recommend Alexis for doing a great job with Yiki while I was away.”

“Shanda was amazing!! I am so thankful we found her and that she was even available to be with Riggs over Thanksgiving. It’s already so sad to leave him, but we were traveling to Atlanta to see our friends. She took such amazing care of him and was a true professional. Lots of amazing photos and videos. I think Riggs was in a “love drunk” slumber when we returned. So calm, happy, and relaxed when we came through the door. Extra special care was given and we could definitely tell he loved his time with Shanda. He is such a sweetie to begin with, but he was extra sweet that night. Which means he had lots of attention and love. Thank you again!!”

“He was so good with my babies! Would definitely hire again, professional and a great animal lover. Shawn handled everything with care; making sure all my fur babies felt at ease with me gone.”

“Charley did a great job! My dogs were happy, and when we returned home, it was like we never left! She responded to messages, and she sent videos and pictures. I will be using her again in the future!”
“We are completely happy with Bertha our pups like her she sent videos and pictures this was the first time we left them with someone other than family they were not stressed out and she left our home as clean as we left it, we definitely recommend her and we will absolutely use her again. Thanks again Bertha.”

“Hunter was incredible! Took such great care of our Poppy while we were away on a trip. This was our first time leaving Poppy, and Hunter took such fabulous care of her, following her puppy schedule, and provided us with updates and photos during our time away!”

About: I’m a mom and a wife! My husband and daughter stay at home. If your pet is okay with family vibes we would be a perfect fit! Growing up on a farm, I was surrounded by animals of all kinds—cows, goats, chickens, dogs, and more. Caring for them wasn’t just a chore; it was a way of life. Because of that, taking care of pets comes naturally to me. Whether it’s feeding, grooming, or just giving them the love and attention they need, I instinctively know how to handle animals with patience and care. Beyond basic pet sitting, I have experience training puppies, caring for senior pets, and handling animals with special needs. Whether your pet needs extra playtime, a structured routine, or gentle care in their older years, I’m here to make sure they’re comfortable, happy, and well cared for. We don’t do big dogs for boarding we focus on 0-15 lbs or something close. Pet care isn’t just something I do—it’s my main job and my passion. Since I grew up on a farm caring for animals every day, looking after pets feels like second nature to me. Now, as a professional pet sitter, my daily and weekly routine revolves around making sure every pet I care for is happy, healthy, and well looked after. From morning walks and feeding schedules to playtime, training, and even senior pet care, I tailor my days to fit each pet’s unique needs. Whether it’s a midday check-in, an overnight stay, or specialized care, I’m fully dedicated to giving pets the love and attention they need while their owners are away.

About: When it comes to dog sitting, I am very attentive watching dogs. I love dogs and have been around them my entire life. I know when they are excited, hungry, or even a little bit grumpy. I have watched different breeds from retrievers to pitbulls. I know how to take care of them and make them feel loved and cared for. Can’t wait to dog sit your furry friend! :) Pet care fits well into my routine because I have a consistent schedule and enjoy spending time with animals. I make time each day to provide reliable, attentive care and keep pets happy, safe, and comfortable. I provide personalized pet care in my clients’ homes through dependable drop-in visits, ensuring their pets receive attention, care, exercise, and companionship while they’re away. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to have someone trustworthy caring for your pets. I do not offer overnight stays because I want to continue providing the same level of care and attention to my own dog at home. My goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while giving owners peace of mind.
“Michael is a life saver! One of our dogs got kennel cough 4 days before we were leaving the country during the holidays. I was in a panic! I heard about Rover and I began to look for someone who could take care of our sick pup. Michael was so responsive and even came over that very day to meet me and meet our dog. He took a very anxiety ridden moment for me and a squashed the situation in a matter of hours. He sent updates the entire trip. Our dog was crazy about him. He took great care of our house. Very trustworthy, and we will definitely use him again. This day and age to find someone who is communicative, kind, and trustworthy is a rare treat and a total blessing. I highly recommend him.”

“I hired Grace to watch my 10 week old puppy, Samba in my house for the day. She was my first hired sitter to ever watch him and I had the best experience! She was so attentive and sent me multiple updates throughout the evening, which really calmed any nerves I had. Poor Samba even became sick and threw up on our carpet while Grace was watching him. She texted me right away, cleaned everything up, and was so understanding and kind about the situation. When we got home, we couldn’t even tell where he got sick because she cleaned it up right away with products. I appreciate her so much, I will definitely be a returning customer! :)”

“We had a great experience with Chanel! She was quick to respond, and took great care of our fur baby and house while we were away. We appreciated all of the pictures and videos she sent. She went above and beyond and we will definitely be using her again!”

“I've had sitters for years, most providing an excellent service. But Deanna Morgan is the champion! I don't even know where to start. From caring for my fur babies and my home to the regular communication whilst I was away, she went above and beyond. Her kindness and concern stretched across thousand of miles even to me. She claims my babies missed me but when I arrived (after the excited mummy cuddles) they checked the open doorway behind me and I know they weren't expecting Amazon! I can't say enough wonderful things about Deanna. However I don't want to give her such a good review that her diary books up and I lose the best sitter ever.”

“Amy was amazing! She took great care of our girl and made sure our picky eater was happy, and kept us updated the whole time. We came home to a clean house and a very content pup - highly recommend her!”

“Una was very caring attentive and loving to my girls they were calm and settled when I returned. She took good care of my home as well I recommend Una and would definitely book with her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Irving
I don’t think that I could’ve got a better dog sitter. I had someone else cancel on me the day before we’re supposed to leave for an 8 day trip. From start to finish Taia was wonderful with taking care of my dogs. She sent pictures, updates and when we came back the apartment looked the exact same if no better than how we left it. I’m going to book her for every stay from here on out!!!
Winta was amazing with our two pups - she found creative ways to keep them entertained with it being so hot outside, and sent lots of updates with adorable pictures. She was super responsive and proactive in her communication, and went the extra mile to leave our house in tip top shape. Couldn’t recommend her more!

Neha did a wonderful job with Rigby and Mordecai. She followed their routine perfectly, kept me in the loop, and reached out whenever she had a question or concerns. The boys got plenty of cuddles and care while she was here. We’d happily have her watch them again!

Una did a great job caring for my dog and left my home in great condition. My pup seemed happy, healthy, and well taken care of when I returned, and we also received plenty of updates and pictures, which gave us peace of mind. From beginning to end, her response time was always super quick and appreciated. One small issue we ran into was with the door lock. A day into the booking, our smart lock notified us that the door had been left unlocked. To be fair, our lock can be a little finicky, and we reached out to explain how it works. It seemed like she tried to lock it, but unfortunately, we still came home to the door unlocked. Since our most valuable possession (Charlie) was inside, a quick confirmation would have been reassuring. We also learned that our pup was left alone a bit longer than we had expected. We knew Una worked 8 hour shifts, but it looked like she left a few hours before those shifts began, which meant my dog was alone longer than anticipated. Overall, Una was a good sitter, and I think the hiccups we had could have been avoided if we had gone over a few more details and made sure we were all on the same page beforehand.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Irving walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Irving maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Irving choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
