“Leaving our pets behind is never easy, but Diego made the entire experience stress-free. He treated our pet like family and gave them so much love and attention. He even brought them to the park and had a play date with some other friendly dogs! Coming home to relaxed pet and a clean house meant everything to us.”

“Morgan was wonderful to work with. She took great care of our dogs and house and communicated daily with updates and photos of our pups. We already have plans to use Morgan again in the near future.”

“Mario was absolutely fantastic! Constant updates with photos and videos and he genuinely went above and beyond on a last minute booking. He's a wonderful guy with a heart for animals - highly recommended!”

“Tiffany made me feel like a family member was watching my dog. He’s extremely high energy and can be a lot for someone else but Tiffany not only did an amazing job taking care of Louie but allowed me to feel like he was actually enjoying his time instead of when I’ve boarded him the past!”

“Hunter is great and my dogs love him. I would highly recommend hunter for anyone that is looking for house sitting. This is ideal for our dogs because they are used to someone being home with them most of the time and at night so I can go on vacation and not worry that my fur babies are stressed rather I know they are in good hands and having a fun time with Hunter!”

“Jessica was AMAZING. Always communicated promptly, sent photos of my pup at each visit, and asked really good questions when setting up her appointment. So grateful for a positive experience. Will definitely use Jessica again.”

“Nashi was phenomenal! One of our pups wasn’t feeling well right before we left, and it’s always difficult to leave when something like that is going on. Nashi stepped right in and took excellent care, provided updates, and calmed my worried mind. We absolutely recommend Nashi and will be requesting her care again in the future for our pups, too.”

“Chaka was amazing with my girl! She has a special temperament at times and they seemed to get on just fine without me. As long as she is willing I will have Chaka back time and again.”

About: What sets me apart as a sitter is my hands-on experience with dogs and my love for understanding their unique personalities. I’ve trained my dog, Mars, from a wild little puppy into a confident, well-behaved dog who can handle off-leash adventures and listen to commands. It took patience, consistency, and a lot of love, but the bond we built along the way made it so worth it. I’ve also worked with dogs who needed extra attention, like my neighbor’s German Shepherd, Teddy. He was a ball of energy with no leash manners, but over six weeks, I worked with him daily on leash training and socialization. Seeing him transform into a calm, happy walking buddy for his owner was such a rewarding experience. I genuinely care about making dogs feel safe, happy, and loved. Whether it’s playing with puppies, keeping an eye on senior dogs, or just making sure each dog gets the attention they deserve, I bring patience, energy, and care to every dog I meet. Taking care of them isn’t just something I do—it’s something I love. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine and I have a flexible schedule. I’m available Monday through Friday starting at 9 AM to spend quality time with your pups, whether it’s playtime, walks, or general care. While I’m unable to board pets, I’m more than happy to stay overnight and provide attentive care in their familiar home environment. I am also available during the weekends as needed. Caring for pets, whether in my home or my client’s, is something I approach with a lot of love and enthusiasm. At my home, I make sure pets have a cozy, safe space where they feel comfortable and cared for. Freshwater, healthy meals, and plenty of playtime are always part of the routine. I know how important it is to keep their minds sharp and their tails wagging, so I add puzzle toys, games, and outdoor adventures to keep them happy and engaged. I love getting out and exploring with dogs—whether it’s walking the Katy Trail, visiting Mutts, or checking out dog parks around Dallas. These outings are great for burning off energy, socializing, and giving them the mental stimulation they need to thrive. Every dog has their own personality, so I make it a point to tailor each experience to what suits them best, whether they’re a high-energy adventurer or a laid-back companion. In my clients’ homes, I focus on keeping their pets comfortable by sticking to their usual routines. I follow feeding schedules, stick to walking routes they’re used to, and make sure they feel safe and loved while their owner is away. I always keep owners in the loop with updates and pictures, so they know their pets are in good hands. Whether we’re at home or out exploring the city, I’m all about making sure pets are happy, healthy, and having fun. Ultimately, I want every dog I care for to feel loved and their owners to feel at ease knowing their furry friend is in great hands.
“I cannot say enough positive things about Lisa. Judging by her profile and favorable reviews, I knew she would be an amazing caretaker for my little girl. And when I first met for a meet and greet, I knew she could not be in better hands than with Lisa! The genuine nest and warmth she exudes is outstanding, and she has a passion for dogs that is perfect for those needing someone to watch their little furry friend. The frequent updates, pictures, and check-in were so much appreciated. My 17-year-old Yorkie has a personality, but she certainly warmed up immediately to Lisa. They even took care of house cleaning while I was out of town! I was lucky to find Lisa and will certainly only use her moving forward when I need someone to take care of my old lady.”

“As always, Dylan is the absolute best sitter we have worked with!! Our pup was SO excited to see him, it was so adorable. We get constant updates and communication, our pup is clearly so loved and cared for while we are away, and our home is spotless when we return! Dylan is absolutely amazing and is always my first call when we need a sitter :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Highland Park
Avy is so great! Dahlia and Tumbleweed absolutely love her, and she takes such good care of them (and our apartment) while we’re traveling. She also goes above and beyond—Dahlia, my border collie, is very leash reactive and Avy took the time to research and learn about reactivity in border collies so she could be more supportive of her and prepared on their walks (and, of course, the extra work is paying off and Dahlia has been much calmer on walks!).

Dylan was EXCEPTIONAL! 10 stars! He did full overnight stays with our three fur babies. They have very specific routines and a constant need for attention and cuddles. Dylan went above and beyond not only to make sure their routines went uninterrupted, but he spoiled them every step of the way. We got detailed updates throughout the day, complete with albums of pictures showing just how happy our pups were with him. Our two Frenchies and Golden Retriever are a hard crowd to win over, but they looked quite happy with Dylan by their side. It's very clear he showed them the love and care we would want!

Grace is really great! She stayed overnight in my home with my dog, Toby, this week. She was on time and easy to communicate with. She also took great care of Toby and my place! I would definitely reccomend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter and will use her again.

Meng was incredible with my girl! I loved my picture updates and that she was so great with communication. She even got my sweet girl to eat, which she normally doesn’t like to eat until I get back home. It was so nice coming back to a tidy home as well. We love Meng!

I booked in-home care with Wanqing for the two foster kittens I'm caring for while I was away for 11 days, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the very beginning, communication was prompt, clear, and reliable. Before the booking even began, Wanqing took the time to come meet the girls and do a walkthrough of my apartment, which immediately gave me peace of mind. Throughout my trip, she sent thoughtful daily updates along with photos. Since the kittens weren't used to her at first and spent a lot of time hiding, I really appreciated how patient she was. She even took the initiative to research kitten behavior, ask friends for advice, and bring over different toys to help them feel more comfortable. That level of care and dedication meant a lot to me. When I returned home, the girls had grown so much. They were happy, healthy, and noticeably more social. As someone fostering them with the goal of finding them loving forever homes, continuing their socialization while I was away was one of my biggest concerns, and Wanqing did a wonderful job supporting that. What stood out most was that her care didn't end when the booking did. She followed up the next day to make sure I had arrived home safely and that the girls were settling back in well. Overall, I'm so glad I chose Wanqing. She genuinely cares about animals and their well-being, and it shows in everything she does. I would absolutely trust her with my pets again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate, patient, and dependable pet sitter.

Shania was such a great sitter! I have 2 Maine coon kittens that I was nervous to leave overnight unsupervised. Shania clearly loves cats and knows a lot about taking care of them. She made the whole process super easy and the kitties took to her almost immediately. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Loveeeeee the top of the line service! We have 7 babies and finding someone we can trust and actually interact with them rather than leaving them in cages all day was a must! Manny&Rob were AMAZING! Interactions with each pup was definitely made and pups were so in love with them! Will definitely be using them again! Updates and photos were sent which eased the nervousness! Thank you both so much!!!

Alyssa was fantastic! She came by to meet our dog before her stay, which we really appreciated, and she took excellent care of her while we were away. She was very communicative, responsive, and kept us updated throughout. We felt completely at ease knowing our dog was in such good hands. We would absolutely book with Alyssa again and highly recommend her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Highland Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Highland Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Highland Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
