“Stephany is a great sitter! She took amazing care of the dogs and our house while we were away. Stephany sent lots of updates and I could tell my dogs were super comfortable and loved having her there. We will definitely rebook!”

“I would highly, highly recommend Kristie! She did such an amazing job with our dog Josie, who had just lost her sister a few days before we went away. Kristie made sure that Josie was comforted and had all the extra love and care so she didn't feel lonely. We also received daily pictures and updates so we knew Josie was well taken care of. Having lost a dog before we left, we were uneasy about leaving Josie behind. But Kristie made us feel 100% like Josie was in the best hands and we knew she genuinely cared for her like she was her own. That was very meaningful to us. And, when we returned home, Kristie left a very thoughtful gift for us, which was a plant in memory of the dog we had just lost. I can't say how much that meant to us. Again, highly, highly recommend Kristie!”

“Rachelle was wonderful, our pups loved her . She was on time, sent lots of cute pics and was communicative throughout visit. We felt our pups were in very capable hands”

“We have a 7 month old Husky mix dog. He is full of energy and needs constant care. Izzy did an amazing job taking care of him. She sent daily pictures and updated us with any situations that came up. We were gone for 8 days, and our dog was so happy and content when we came back home. Izzy also cleaned the house so it was spotless when we arrived. She did more than we even expected. She is awesome.”
“Marta and Marshall make a wonderful team. Our dog loves them and they are so responsive. While we were gone they went above and beyond to keep our home safe during a terrible cold snap. We will definitely ask Marta and Marshall to house sit in the future!”

About: I've had 4 dogs myself from puppies until 14 years of age. I've been through puppy training and obedience training with 3 of my dogs. I love playing with them and making sure they get the exercise they need. I love dogs and they love me. If I could rescue and care for all the dogs in shelters and pounds I would just so they would know what love is. I'm a major dog lover I am currently working full time at Target, five days a week. My days off vary week to week but I do get my schedule three weeks in advance. Most of my shifts are from 11:00am-6:30/7:00pm and one or two closing shifts of 1:30/2:00pm-10:00pm I have a fenced yard with plenty of space for your dog to run around and play. I have two teenage children who will help care for and love on your dog.
“Kayla was amazing! She is so sweet and took such great care of our puppies. Kayla sent us pictures while we were away which was a nice touch and we came back to a nice clean house. Will definitely be rebooking!”

“Jill was SO STELLAR! My dogs are a HANDFUL, and she completely unphased, calm, and kind with my dogs. She sent me pics and updates while I was gone and was so reassuring. I feel like I have a new lease on my life knowing I can leave my dogs in good hands.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for family members, since I was in high school. I am very patient and respectful of your pet’s boundaries. I can do all of the basics for pet care, such as feeding, walking and playtime. I am also comfortable with giving pet’s their medication. I’m a college student looking for a summer job, to help pay for my tuition and expenses! This will be a great stress reducer. I am very patient and respectful of an animals boundaries. Sometimes, pets don’t want to be bothered when meeting new people, and that’s fine!
“David did a wonderful job dog sitting in our house with our energetic golden retriever. He communicated with us daily while we were away and send pictures which was great! We came back to a happy dog and a clean house. Would highly recommend and definitely will use David again in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats growing up as in college! Friends and family have entrusted me to take care of their pets while out of town or taking their dogs on walks. I’m here to give you the assistance you need to make you and your pet pal happy!!😊 Im currently working full time M-F but work from home Friday so I have more availability! I am free on the weekends! I usually get off around 4-5 M-F but I’m willing to work earlier if I know in advance your pets feeding times :) For starters I would make sure (if possible) I’m able to meet your pet pal before so they can recognize me. I want to make sure we are both comfortable with eachother. I’d like to know the behavior of your pet as well! Some pets are more shy and reserved so it’s good to know that way I don’t startle your pet. I will make sure to clean out their water bowls so they can have a fresh water, groom if needed and make time to walk, play, and talk with with your pet pal! If there are any accidents(puppies are more likely to do this) I will be sure to clean up as if nothing ever happened. No one wants to come back to a trip with that type of surprise waiting on them😅I will also take your dog (or cat if that’s what he/she likes!) on walks!!
“She was so great with our pets. We got lots of pictures and felt so calm and confident they were cared for. She also helped us figure out we needed to get one of our pups to the vet when we got back and we're so grateful for the observation skills!!!”

“Louann took amazing care of my dog and home while I was away on an international family trip. She made sure my pet was comfortable and provided consistent communication and updates so I was informed and sure everything was fine while I was away. Couldn’t recommend Louann more!”

About: I have taken care of different types of dogs through out the past years. Small and large. Energetic and calm. Old and young. I’ve watch over Schnauzers, Australia Shepherds, French Bulldogs, Shiba Inu, Doberman and many mixes.. Needless to say I’m willing to watch any dog! I can also say there has never been any accidents that have occurred to a dog under my watch. I do not like having animals caged up for long so they will be free to roam when under my supervision. Furthermore, I love the outdoors so the doggos will have a nice pleasant walk with me visiting all the nearby parks when able. I also love cats so all of this applies to them as well. =) *Hablo Español* *Price is negotiable for stays longer than 14 days* I am a full time IT employee. Although during the week I will be out for 8-9 hours I do live close enough that I can drive to my apartment and give the dogs a potty break during my lunch break. I also have cameras at home so I will still be keeping an eye on them while I'm out! I am quite active so the dogs will always get plenty of exercise. If they can keep up that is. If you know your dog cannot be left alone without causing chaos I would appreciate if you bring their crate. **Please give me at least 1 week in advance for appointments. Although my schedule is often up to date. I too take vacations and have to go out of town on emergencies. Last minute request will be considered but likeliness is low. I am a true animal lover so I will put the pets wellbeing first. I do not plan on leaving animals in a crate for longer than a couple hours if necessary. I am an active person so long walks will be something the dogs will get. Unless they cannot keep up. I really like playing rope and catch with dogs so they will get plenty of play time. =)
“Kaitlin is a fantastic dog sitter! She kept in touch with my roommate while I was in Australia, which I really appreciated. She took great care of both my dog and our home! I felt completely at ease knowing my pup was in such great hands.”

Adrienne was the epitome of what you would want and expect with a dog sitter. She is reliable, detail oriented and asked all the right questions prior to her taking care of my two Great Pyreness. We LOVED Adrienne! I truly was able to enjoy my vacation and not have to be concerned about how my boys were doing. She was communicative and knew when to take on walks, especially with the Texas heat upon us, and balanced this equally with their feeding schedules, treats, and even bedtime routines. I am very selective on who cares for my boys and I wouldn’t hesitate on booking with her again! ❤️✈️🌴⭐️

Holden did an amazing job with my two very energetic girls! He was super communicative and extremely mindful of the different needs of each dog. I came home to a cleaner house than I left and my girls clearly had a good time! It can be hard to find someone you trust with your babies but I will absolutely book with Holden again! Thank you, Holden!

Allison always does an amazing job with our pups. This was probably a longer trip than we’ve taken away from them so I was naturally a nervous wreck leading up to it, but as soon as Allison was with them I knew they were in great hands. Thank you Allison for caring for our girls!

Always so easy to work with Marta and Marshall. I love that I can be away without worrying that my pup is in great hands. I also trust that Marta and Marshall will reach out with questions when necessary. When I arrive home, everything is in order and my dog is happy and healthy.

Janelle was absolutely amazing! She kept me consistently updated throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. My puppy Nyx struggles with separation anxiety, and Janelle handled it with so much care, patience, and understanding. It’s clear she genuinely loves what she does. She truly went above and beyond to make sure Nyx and my other dog Eros were comfortable and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Janelle again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and compassionate sitter.

David did a wonderful job dog sitting in our house with our energetic golden retriever. He communicated with us daily while we were away and send pictures which was great! We came back to a happy dog and a clean house. Would highly recommend and definitely will use David again in the future.

Jonathan was fantastic! He loved on our babies and made us feel secure in knowing they were taken care of. He went the extra mile in caring for them and kept everything tidy while staying in our home. Communication was several times with pictures while we were away. You won’t regret asking him to take care of your precious pets!

Jaz was an amazing sitter! I had total peace of mind while I was away knowing my pets were so well cared for. I have an older pup and two cats, and she handled everyone with such kindness and attention. She sent daily updates that really reassured me, and even my shy cat came to cuddle near her.. which says a lot about how safe and comfortable he must have felt. I would love to use her services every time I’m out of town. Highly recommend!

As of July 2026, there are 4,729 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Plano. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Plano walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Plano maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Plano choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
