“We used Diana for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was very responsive and left our house even better than the way we left it- even took the trash out. She sent pictures and videos of our pup throughout our trip and gave us updates on what time she would be arriving and leaving. We look forward to using her again in the future!”

“Oline was phenomenal! She took such amazing care of my pups. She was also extremely responsive and always kept me informed of how they were doing with texts and lots of photos. Can’t say enough how great she was.”

“Laura is fantastic, she is the exact type of person you need to care for Pets. She is very sweet, reliable, and trust worthy. She took care of all 3 of our fur babies in our home as if they were her own. Highly recommend! We love Laura and definitely will be using her in the future.”

“Wow. Just wow! Rezvan went above and beyond what I expected. I haven't ever hired a house sitter before and now I am pretty sure I am spoiled. The pets were so happy. We got lots of feedback and pictures during our trip and she went WAY above and beyond what I even asked her to do. (Example: she cleaned our tortoise cage and repotted my plants in dire need of repotting-after asking of course.) We can't recommend her enough!”

“Lindsey was amazing! I came back to a clean home and the dogs were very well taken care of. I could not recommend Lindsey more. As I was away, Lindsey stayed connected with me and provided regular updates and pictures. I will definitely be booking Lindsey in the future!”

“Ryan was awesome and our dogs loved the weekend with him! Super accommodating, attentive, and communicative. Would definitely book Ryan again! Jude and Oakley can't wait!”
“Yumika is an excellent dogsitter! She stayed with my two doodle dogs while I was traveling. Her communication daily with photos kept me updated and assured. I came home to two tired and happy pups and she left my home immaculate. I highly recommend Yumika and have already referred her to my neighbors!”

“Maria exceeded all of our expectations. She took videos and photos of our babies which helped our nerves tremendously. She’s so sweet and attentive with them, took everything we told her and doubled it. And on top of that, our babies adore her. Highly highly recommend her :)”

“Ivanna filled in for us in a last minute care situation. She was accomodating of our schedules and found the time to meet with us. My dogs were very well taken care of. The pictures and videos she sent showed me how much they liked her. She was on time and responsible with our home. It shows from the dog's reactions how experienced she is with animals. We will definitely be working with her again.”

“This was our second time having Vanessa house sit and watch Lulu. She once again took such great care of Lulu and our house was spotless when we returned. Highly recommend!”

“Victoria is an incredible pet sitter! She arrived 5 minutes early to take care of our puppy Shiloh. She sent multiple updates, pictures, and played the last hour with him even after my girlfriend got home so she could go upstairs and change. Can't say enough how professional she is and a great listener to the smallest details that really ensured Shiloh was taken care of as best as possible. We'll definitely be using Victoria again to care for Shiloh as she went above and beyond providing exceptional service!!”

“Having Ashley as our sitter was the perfect decision! We were able to enjoy our honeymoon knowing that we’d get pictures of our dogs walking, playing, or just relaxing twice a day! She was very caring, professional, and kept me well informed—especially about my dog that sometimes skips meals. Definitely would rebook with Ashley :)”

About: I truly love animals 🐾 I’ve spent 12 years caring for pets — feeding, walking, grooming, and everything in between. I’ve cared for dogs of all kinds, including a sweet tripod girl who hopped around better than some dogs with all four legs, a loyal gentle giant German Shepherd, and currently an energetic lab/Great Pyrenees mix who keeps me active and on my toes. Friends jokingly call me the “animal whisperer” — even shy, nervous, or standoffish animals tend to warm right up to me. I also have deep experience with cats, so if you’ve got both dogs and cats, I’ve got you covered. I keep a flexible schedule outside of a part-time job, which leaves plenty of time for walks, feeding, and check-ins. I'm happy to work with you to find times that fit your pet's routine. I don’t offer boarding, but I’m happy to provide walks and drop-in visits at your home. I’m attentive to safety details like secure leashing, checking food and water, and following any specific instructions you leave for meds, routines, or quirks. Your pet’s space and routine are treated with care and respect.
“Johnitha is a fearless dog whisperer. She stayed with our mutts for nearly a week and made them comfortable in our home while we were out of town. One of our dogs is very distrusting of anyone outside of the family and could be somewhat frightening to less experienced sitters, so it was necessary we brought someone in who wouldn't be intimidated by a mid-sized dog who isnt sure what’s going on. Johnitha even let us meet up with her twice before our trip to familiarize our more difficult pup and establish a bit of trust. Honestly, I don’t think they could have been in better hands and I will be referring her to everyone I know. Thank you so much, Johnitha!”
“Jennifer demonstrated exceptional punctuality and commitment to her pet-sitting duties over the weekend. Unlike some sitters who overextend themselves by juggling multiple clients, Jennifer focused solely on this job, ensuring that the pets received her full attention and care. Her dedication and reliability are commendable and set a standard for quality service.”

“John was able to watch our 3 cats on short notice. He followed complex feeding instructions to make sure that our cat with behavioral issues was fed on a regular schedule in a variety of special feeders. He was also very responsive and a pleasure to work with.”

Maria exceeded all of our expectations. She took videos and photos of our babies which helped our nerves tremendously. She’s so sweet and attentive with them, took everything we told her and doubled it. And on top of that, our babies adore her. Highly highly recommend her :)

Lindsey was amazing! I came back to a clean home and the dogs were very well taken care of. I could not recommend Lindsey more. As I was away, Lindsey stayed connected with me and provided regular updates and pictures. I will definitely be booking Lindsey in the future!

Alexandra has stayed with our 2 adult cats several times, and she always does a great job caring for them and our home. She always sends lots of pics and updates, and she is always easy to reach. Leaving our cats and home is Alexandra’s hands is a worry-free experience!
This was my first time to use Rover as a pet sitting service, so naturally this was my first time to use Jennifer and Jon. They were awesome! I got updates from Luci the Pomeranian as well as pictures of her having fun. Plants watered, fish fed. Luci got to spend special time with Jon, and she really appreciated that! Luci got her daily dose of treats and playtime with “bunny and kangaroo”. I’ve got them booked for 2 more events in the future.

Amazing sitter! Took my request last minute and became very close with my rather shy cat in a short time. I was so worried this was my first time getting a sitter but it went super smoothly my kittie was super happy and loved and Mackenzi was comfortable with me checking in periodically on my cat cam which made me feel much more safe we also met beforehand which brought some comfort as well. Will 100% use her as my only sitter in the future. :)

Ingrid was an absolute gem taking care of my puppy Arya! She went above and beyond, even taking Arya out for walks and sending regular photo updates throughout the day, which put my mind completely at ease. She’s warm, friendly, and clearly loves what she does. Arya was well cared for and happy the whole time. I’d recommend Ingrid to anyone looking for a sitter who genuinely treats your pup like family.

Amy is the best. She took the best care of our furr baby for a week. She is a great communicator and gave us daily updates and at least 25-30 pics. We will definitely use her again and she will be our go to dog sitter. She stayed in our home and was such a great guest. I would recommend her to everyone!!!!🩷🩷🩷

Maria is truly one of the best people we have had for petsitting. She was always on time, took excellent care of our puppy so much so that he did not seem to miss us, and left our home very clean when she left. Thank you so much! We would not hesitate to hire her again..

Danielle was extremely professional. First time using the Rover app and she made me feel much less anxious about leaving my dogs. She kept me updated with pictures and met with me 2x before the booking event. Honestly thankful to have her as a sitter for my two dogs.

Hannah did SUCH a great job! I had construction going on plus my 2 dogs and 4 cats and she managed it all the week we were gone on vacation! Communicated great, got pictures, and would absolutely use her services again. She’s a pro with the animals and house sitting! You are in amazing hands with Hannah. 💖

Kim was fantastic! She took wonderful care of Phyllis and the house, stayed in touch and gave timely updates throughout the stay, and left our place cleaner than when she arrived! We're so happy we met her and would whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone we know. She was great at the meet and greet too, asking the right questions to get to know Phyllis's needs and set up positive communication. We appreciate everything you've done and hope to be able to book with you again!

Roni was very punctual and kept in great contact throughout the weekend. He stayed at our house for two nights and walked our dog and kept great care of her as well as our home. Really nice, conscientious guy who is a seminary graduate with a real love and kindness for animals.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Addison on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 5,130 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Addison. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Addison walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Addison maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Addison choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
