“Aivy was great with my pups! She was very attentive and cared for them as I would hope someone would. I would definitely recommend her and look forward to working with her in the future :)”

“I can't say enough good things about Dasia. Finding someone to watch my fur babies is always stressful, but she immediately put me at ease. My dogs absolutely love her and I came home to happy and relaxed pups. Dasia is super reliable, communicative, and goes the extra mile. I got regular updates and pictures, which made me feel so much better while I was away. It's clear that she genuinely cares about animals, and I trust her completely. If you're looking for a fantastic dog sitter, look no further than Dasia!”

About: I have 20+ years of experience owning, loving, and caring for dogs. I've cared for many diverse breeds with diverse personalities. I'm comfortable administering medications, catering to special needs, or diets. I offer reliability and a calming presence that puts both pets and owners at ease. I also have 2 very friendly small dogs of my own (4 and 8 years old) that I raised from puppies! I am currently working part-time so I do have flexibility. I am taking new and returning clients Monday- Friday (Dogs ONLY) at the moment for walking or in-home care. I am willing to work some Saturdays and Sundays with a 3 day or more advance notice. Just send me a message! I’m available for morning, afternoon, or evenings for walks, and I’m happy to coordinate care around your pet’s routine to ensure consistency and comfort. I also aim to provide clear communication and dependable scheduling so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands while you’re away. I like to conduct meet and greets to make sure we are a good fit. If you choose me to walk or watch your pet I will provide photo/video updates, I keep pet areas tidy, and maintain a consistent routines to reduce pet anxiety. I will also take your pet on walking trips or to local dog parks upon request. I also have 2 very friendly small dogs of my own that can keep your pet company.
“Elizabeth took care of our old pups twice. She is great in following instructions. She is very reliable, responsive and responsible sitter. Our pups are happy around her and we are relaxed when she is around to take care of our pups.”

About: Hi, my name is Jack! I’m a 20 year old college student with 10 years of pet care experience (9 years free-lance pet care and 1 year at a doggy daycare), including caring for my 13 year old terrier rescue, Trixie, two cats, and a dozen fish. So, as you can tell, I REALLY love animals. Your dog will receive premium care when you use my services. I will provide water on the walks, breaks if your dog needs it, and anything else you desire! For drop-ins, I’ll play your dogs game(s) of choice, rearrange the blankets in their crate (if crates), clean up any accidents (if not crated), and wash out and refill their food and water bowls. Additionally, short-to-medium (depending on length) walks will be provided on request! Please consider me for your pet sitter or dog walker, I promise you & your dog(s) will not be disappointed. I am a 3rd year student currently seeking to do pet sitting and dog walking on the side during the school year. I am available full days on weekends and most of the mornings and evenings each weekday (my classes are all midday). I value sticking to routine as it makes the pet(s) most comfortable. I have a consistent and caring approach to pet care that allows pets to feel as calm as possible while their owners are away.
“Lana house sat our cat and she was so professional and well organized. She did a pre sitter visit and collected lots of data about needs and wants. She really made us feel comfortable and sent us lots of pics of our fur baby while we were away. She was very responsive and communicative during the entire process. Super impressed with her and would recommend to anyone. Thanks Lana!”

“My pups were cared for and I appreciated the updates, communication, and photos during the booking. Angelica was also nice enough to drop in one last time to check on my babies since my flight got delayed. Will be rebooking with her again!”

“We will definitely be requesting Maria to care for our fur babies and home again! This was our first experience using Rover. After a very last minute cancellation by another sitter (not Rover), we were scrambling to find a professional and reliable sitter over the holidays. Maria to the rescue! She was very thorough, asked questions to make sure she knew exactly what our kitties needed, and sent lots of photos & updates everyday. One of our cats requires daily medication, and Maria was contentious in making sure it was done every day. We definitely recommend Maria’s services.”

“Wonderful experience all the way around with Nick! He watched our 2 dogs over the holidays while we were out of the country and did an awesome job keeping them safe, fed, warm, and loved. Our trip was extended by a day due to some flight delays and he was able to accommodate an additional night at the last minute, which was SO appreciated. We'd book him again in a heartbeat.”

“Samantha and Sydney were absolutely wonderful! They kept in constant communication with us and sent regular updates throughout the day about how our pets were doing, which gave us so much peace of mind. We couldn't be happier with the care they provided, and we would absolutely trust them to look after our furry babies again. Highly recommended!”

About: I am the designated dog sitter amongst my friends. I have taken care of my brother's dog for a month, a friend's dog for 2 months, and many times more with 8 years of dog sitting experiences. Since I do not have a dog of my own, I treat all the dogs I take care of as my own. This means they will be well fed, exercised, and bathed in joy :) I work a hybrid schedule so this creates flexibility on my end to watch you pet for the whole day when I work from home. I am an active person so I try to go for a 20 minute walk everyday and by providing pet care, this creates a win win situation for me and the pet! On weekends, I enjoy going for a run, if your pet is active, I can take the dog out for a jog too. I have a fenced yard and live in a pet friendly neighborhood with easy access to trail. Pets are allowed on the couch for comfort.

About: Hi I’m Shea! I’m a 25 year old professional volleyball player living in Frisco for the year. I recently got injured and am trying to make some money doing what I love (being around animals) while I’m not playing! Growing up, I had two Great Pyrenees and a Cocker Spaniel, along with both indoor and outdoor cats, so I’m comfortable caring for all kinds of dogs and cats with different behaviors and lifestyles. I’m also currently a proud owner of a Ragdoll kitten named Lemon! My active lifestyle makes dog and cat caretaking and walking a perfect fit! I genuinely enjoy getting outside and spending time with dogs in all types of areas and weather. And I also love caring for cats and making sure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. Your pets will get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while they’re with me! I am currently going through rehab for an injury so outside of that my days are quite free to take care of your pets! Most weekdays I am free in the afternoons and evenings, and I am also free most weekends. My schedule is very flexible so feel free to ask about extra availability! I want to provide the best and most seamless care possible to your animals, so however you need them to be taken care of I can provide! Whether it is going on long or short walks, playing with them, or providing meals I am very adaptable. I have worked with animals that are only indoor and also both indoor and outdoor etc. so I am comfortable in most situations!

“Julia is absolutely amazing! I am an anxious dog mom and she was so responsive and provided frequent updates that made me feel better while I was away. I also have a pretty difficult dog, so I really appreciate her being so kind and patient. Will definitely be rebooking with her!”

“Lydia was fantastic. The dogs loved her and she provided constant updates during our trip. Our home was in the same cleanliness as we left it. Which was surprising since we have a few rain storms and our dogs muddied up the floors. Lydia is wonderful and we will rebook her again. I have referred her to a friend who has used her three times already.”
About: I've had 4 dogs myself from puppies until 14 years of age. I've been through puppy training and obedience training with 3 of my dogs. I love playing with them and making sure they get the exercise they need. I love dogs and they love me. If I could rescue and care for all the dogs in shelters and pounds I would just so they would know what love is. I'm a major dog lover I am currently working full time at Target, five days a week. My days off vary week to week but I do get my schedule three weeks in advance. Most of my shifts are from 11:00am-6:30/7:00pm and one or two closing shifts of 1:30/2:00pm-10:00pm I have a fenced yard with plenty of space for your dog to run around and play. I have two teenage children who will help care for and love on your dog.

Melissa was so helpful and reliable when I asked her to help watch my dog Blue 🐶. She was very friendly and super sweet towards my dog, I knew he would be in good hands when I was out of town. She sent me lots of pics and regular updates. I will definitely be reaching out to her again! 😊
I love Lana. She did a very professional job. My husband and I were using another lady who was not available for our vacation this summer. We fly to meet family once a year for a reunion. I had little time to find someone who I trusted staying in our home with our 2 dogs. We were flying to a location that was far enough away to want assurance that all would be fine. She did the job! And it be our go to sitter from now on. Thank you, Lana!

Hannah is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! If you want the most loving, caring, sweetest person watching your fur baby- she is the ONE. There aren't enough good things to say about her. She took such good care of our Golden. Loved on him just like he was her own- sent us daily pictures and was in constant communication with us. She is one in a million and you will be so lucky to have her help you!!

Sarah was absolutely AMAZING! Chloe is typically stressed when we leave and she was totally relaxed when we got home. Sarah took the time to get to know Chloe even with her playing hard to get. It was so nice to not stress about our girl while we were away. We knew she was in good hands. We will 100% use Sarah again!

Manda was fantastic with our babies. Great communicator through out the stay. She even came early in the week when a friend of ours got the dates wrong and she ran over and checked on the dogs. She came over for a meet and great and our dogs loved her immediately. It’s very apparent she is great with animals. We are very pleased and excited that we found a sitter that is so good with our babies. We highly recommend Manda just don’t take her when we need her.😀

Samantha and Sydney were absolutely wonderful! They kept in constant communication with us and sent regular updates throughout the day about how our pets were doing, which gave us so much peace of mind. We couldn't be happier with the care they provided, and we would absolutely trust them to look after our furry babies again. Highly recommended!

Angelica was very prompt in all her responses. She came for a meet and greet and is very pleasant person. She followed all directions that I had requested her to do. She updated everyday. She is very teliable. My pet was happy! We will definitely rebook Angelica again! Thank you Angelica!

I am so reluctant to say good things on here because my animals need Ryan to be available. Ryan you give me such peace of mind when I am away. You always leave the space better than you found it. Thank you so much for accommodating my crazy and for loving them while I’m away.

Haley is the best sitter we have had! She takes the time to meet and understand your dogs’ needs first. I really appreciate all the updates she provides-videos, photos and messages so you know what is going on with your babies. She is extremely kind to my dogs and communicates very well. Highly recommend!

Julia is absolutely amazing! I am an anxious dog mom and she was so responsive and provided frequent updates that made me feel better while I was away. I also have a pretty difficult dog, so I really appreciate her being so kind and patient. Will definitely be rebooking with her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in The Colony on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 4,908 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across The Colony. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred The Colony walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in The Colony maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in The Colony choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in The Colony. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
