“Aivy is incredible! We have booked with her twice now and our dogs really came out of their shell and felt so comfortable with her. Frequent check in’s and photos helped so much while we were away on vacation. She is amazing!”

“Samantha and Sydney were absolutely wonderful! They kept in constant communication with us and sent regular updates throughout the day about how our pets were doing, which gave us so much peace of mind. We couldn't be happier with the care they provided, and we would absolutely trust them to look after our furry babies again. Highly recommended!”

“Alyssa and Sam were fantastic while house sitting our home and two pups. They sent us daily updates of the dogs relaxing and taking them on walks. They left the house just as clean as they found it. We couldn’t hold them in higher regard for taking care of our home. We will look to book with them again in the future!”

“Lana took THE BEST care of our Yorkie and our house while we were on vacation. Completely surpassed any expectations we had! She was very responsive and provided daily photos and updates while we were gone. She followed all our care instructions and even cleaned up the house. It was so comforting knowing that everything was in good hands while we were away so we could relax and enjoy our trip. We'll definitely book her again! Thanks Lana!”

About: I offer pet sitting, dog walking, and playtime services with a strong passion for animal care and years of hands-on experience. I am 27 years old and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, with plans to further my education by attending veterinary school. I was raised on a farm caring for a wide variety of animals, including cows, goats, sheep, pigs, horses, donkeys, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, and cats. Growing up around animals inspired my lifelong goal of becoming a veterinarian and gave me valuable experience in providing attentive, compassionate care to animals of all sizes and temperaments. Whether you need someone to care for your pets during a vacation, workday, or even a date night, I would be honored to look after your beloved pets as if they were my own. As I am currently out of school, I have open availability and flexible scheduling to walk, feed, play with, and provide attentive care for your furry family members. I work 5 days/week with a flexible schedule so I have plenty of time for your pets needs. Whether it’s day or night or even the weekends, I’ll be available. I have a fenced in back yard with plenty of space to run and play. There’s lots of trees around my back yard as well to keep your pets out of the sun at all parts of the day.

“I can't say enough good things about Dasia. Finding someone to watch my fur babies is always stressful, but she immediately put me at ease. My dogs absolutely love her and I came home to happy and relaxed pups. Dasia is super reliable, communicative, and goes the extra mile. I got regular updates and pictures, which made me feel so much better while I was away. It's clear that she genuinely cares about animals, and I trust her completely. If you're looking for a fantastic dog sitter, look no further than Dasia!”

“Sasha was fantastic! We were extremely anxious about leaving Cash, our 8 month old puppy Husky we had just rescued, alone. He is very destructive and requires lots of attention. When we came home we were honestly surprised that he hadn’t got into anything! Sasha sent pictures and updates throughout the day and was always really responsive. Not only did she give Cash lots of attention, she also won over our extremely shy and fearfully aggressive cat! Luna HATES strangers and Sasha sent us pics of Luna out and about!!! She left the house in perfect condition and also left the faucets dripping so our pipes wouldn’t burst. We really appreciated Sasha and even though we were constantly texting her due to our anxiety, she was always giving us updates. 100% recommend.”

“Julia is absolutely amazing! I am an anxious dog mom and she was so responsive and provided frequent updates that made me feel better while I was away. I also have a pretty difficult dog, so I really appreciate her being so kind and patient. Will definitely be rebooking with her!”

“5 Stars – Excellent Care from Jose! We had a fantastic experience with Jose through Rover! From the start, he was friendly, professional, and clearly experienced with animals. Our dog felt comfortable with him right away, and that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Jose kept us updated with regular messages and adorable photos, which we really appreciated. It was obvious he truly cared and went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. When we returned, our pup was happy, relaxed, and well cared for. We’re so grateful for Jose’s kindness and reliability — we’ll definitely be booking with him again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter!”

“Elizabeth took care of our old pups twice. She is great in following instructions. She is very reliable, responsive and responsible sitter. Our pups are happy around her and we are relaxed when she is around to take care of our pups.”

Hannah is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! If you want the most loving, caring, sweetest person watching your fur baby- she is the ONE. There aren't enough good things to say about her. She took such good care of our Golden. Loved on him just like he was her own- sent us daily pictures and was in constant communication with us. She is one in a million and you will be so lucky to have her help you!!

Sarah was absolutely AMAZING! Chloe is typically stressed when we leave and she was totally relaxed when we got home. Sarah took the time to get to know Chloe even with her playing hard to get. It was so nice to not stress about our girl while we were away. We knew she was in good hands. We will 100% use Sarah again!

Manda was fantastic with our babies. Great communicator through out the stay. She even came early in the week when a friend of ours got the dates wrong and she ran over and checked on the dogs. She came over for a meet and great and our dogs loved her immediately. It’s very apparent she is great with animals. We are very pleased and excited that we found a sitter that is so good with our babies. We highly recommend Manda just don’t take her when we need her.😀

Samantha and Sydney were absolutely wonderful! They kept in constant communication with us and sent regular updates throughout the day about how our pets were doing, which gave us so much peace of mind. We couldn't be happier with the care they provided, and we would absolutely trust them to look after our furry babies again. Highly recommended!

Lana is an amazing, caring, thoughtful caregiver. She was wonderful with our dogs and an amazing communicator. She takes great photos and took wonderful care of our pets. She identified a small issue and was proactive in taking care of things in our absence. I cannot recommend her more highly! We will definitely be using her again.

For the first time ever we left our 12 year old dog at home while going on vacation and needed someone to stay with him. Melissa knocked it outta the park with our tripawd dog Sammy and treated him like family. In addition to giving him three medications every morning and evening, she cuddled him, played with him, carried him up and down stairs and made him feel loved. Melissa sent photos of Sammy having the time of his life which made it easy to enjoy ourselves on vacation knowing he was well cared for.

Angelica was very prompt in all her responses. She came for a meet and greet and is very pleasant person. She followed all directions that I had requested her to do. She updated everyday. She is very teliable. My pet was happy! We will definitely rebook Angelica again! Thank you Angelica!

I am so reluctant to say good things on here because my animals need Ryan to be available. Ryan you give me such peace of mind when I am away. You always leave the space better than you found it. Thank you so much for accommodating my crazy and for loving them while I’m away.

Haley is the best sitter we have had! She takes the time to meet and understand your dogs’ needs first. I really appreciate all the updates she provides-videos, photos and messages so you know what is going on with your babies. She is extremely kind to my dogs and communicates very well. Highly recommend!

Julia is absolutely amazing! I am an anxious dog mom and she was so responsive and provided frequent updates that made me feel better while I was away. I also have a pretty difficult dog, so I really appreciate her being so kind and patient. Will definitely be rebooking with her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred The Colony walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in The Colony maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in The Colony choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in The Colony. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
