“Aivy did a great job watching our dog while we were out of town. We haven’t used Rover in quite a few years and are very picky when it comes to who watches our fur baby. Aivy put us at ease from the first meet and greet with her thoughtful questions and demeanor. We also really appreciated her photos and report cards each time she dropped in. Will definitely use Aivy again in the future for our pet care needs. Thank you, Aivy!!”

“Laurinda was so great. I have a cat with asthma, diabetes, and chronic upper respiratory problems. She was able to accommodate a last minute booking for my very special cat that needs inhaler treatment, insulin, and nose drops twice a day. She handled him with so much care and love. Thank you so much for taking care of my very special boy.”

“Kelli was amazing! She was very sweet with my two babies, one of which is very wary of new people. Kelli was patient with her and by the end of the second visit Macie actually let Kelli pet her (which never happens)! Kelli must be a dog whisperer. ? Very appreciative. Will definitely reach out next time i we’d dog sitting!”

“Olivia was excellent at caring for my shy cat Merlin while I was away for a trip. She checked in with me daily and I could tell when I got home my cat was very content while I was away :)”

About: I have had a heart for the four legged friends since I could walk. From a round of tug of war to running around the backyard to cuddling on the couch, it brings me joy to make animals feel loved. I am a teacher so I do have a teacher schedule throughout the week but I am home earlier most days (by 3:30 or 4:00). Your pet is free to lounge freely in the house while we are gone unless you have crate trained them and would like them put in their crates. We have a large house with no carpet and tile/wood throughout in case of any accidents. We do have a small dog (who can lounge with your furry friend and who is also crate trained) as well as a cat-who minds her own business most of the time. Our children LOVE dogs and are great at playing and helping your furry friend get lots of exercise. We have a fully fenced yard. Crates during the day or lounging around the house is completely up to you. We have a cat who minds her own business and doesn’t mind dogs. Our dog Sherlock is the friendliest most playful little terrier who just loves making friends with everyone!
“I can’t say enough great things about our drop-in visits with Ember! From the very first check-in, you could tell our pup was in caring and capable hands. The communication was excellent—photos, updates, and little notes that showed real attention to detail. It was such a comfort to know someone was actually spending quality time with our dog, not just rushing through the visit. If you’re looking for someone reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about animals, Ember is your person. Highly recommend!”

“Jaimee is an incredible pet sitter. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing that my cats were in good hands. I received daily updates and appreciated Jaimee’s open communication. I would absolutely recommend Jaimee to anybody in search of a cat sitter. Jaimee is very knowledgeable about cats and cat care. Her passion is apparent and left me feeling confident that I had made the right decision.”

About: Now living in a house with a BIG backyard! I have had pets my whole life. I have experience with a variety of dog breeds and currently have a sweet 7 year old golden boy! We love walks and going to the park and cuddling. I am able to give medications as needed. I work a few minutes from home and am able to come by at lunch as needed. I am home in the evenings and often take a walk before or after work. I live in a house with a nice big backyard for playtime! Walking trails are nearby for nice walks. I am a loving and comforting caregiver and will provide your pet with all of the love and attention they need!
About: I have taken care of dogs the size of a mini pony, to the size of a cup. I love all sizes of dogs and, can’t wait to meet your furry friend. I am currently working full time as a dental assistant. I do have time on the weekends to stay and watch your furry friend. As well as I’m also a college student currently. I can make my schedule work around yours. I have one pitbull boxer mix that’s very friendly. As well as a fenced in home. I can also crate my dog if that is an issue.
“Sarah is amazing! She is professional, timely and cared for our cats as if they were her own. She got our older cat to take her pill and was through in inspecting our house for damages from the kitten. Sarah is considerate and asks questions during her meet and greet. Hands down one of the best pet sitters we have ever had.”
About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life and have experience training puppies and handling all kinds of dogs. I have also volunteered at an animal shelter, where I learned about animal behavior and how to properly care for and work with different pets. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals. I have a flexible schedule throughout the week and can make time for walks, playtime, feeding, and giving pets the attention and care they need. I always make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for in a client’s home. I pay close attention to routines, feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions given by the owner. I also make sure pets feel comfortable by giving them plenty of attention and patience.
“Great experience with Lindsey. She handled my two large dogs (German Shepherd and Labradoodle) for four days with ease. Punctual, polite, and provided constant photo updates so I didn't have to worry. Reliable service!”

About: I’ve had cats for the last five years and have the most experience with them. I’m an animal lover and can’t wait to give your babies all the loving while you enjoy your time away. Happy to also care for small to medium sized dogs. I currently work part time so I have a ton of flexibility with my schedule to meet the needs you have for your babies. Can make mornings or evenings work any day of the week. Because I live in an apartment, pets cannot come to my home, but I can do both drop in visits or stay longer term in your home based on your needs.
About: I am a very active college kid home for summer looking for a job to make some extra cash! I have pet-sit for my friends and family for years, and I trained my dog since he was a puppy. I will gladly help your less leash trained pups, dogs that pull, or high energy pups! I'm currently home for summer break from Texas State University. Other than the two vacations I have planned, I am free all summer to walk your pups! I am a very responsible dog walker, I leash trained my dog myself when I was 12. Additionally I do CrossFit so I don't mind dogs that pull or are high energy.
“Samantha and Sydney did another wonderful job taking care of our 2 cats while we were gone. They go above and beyond every time. I honestly think our cats may prefer them to us! We will be using them again soon.”

We were super grateful Sarah was able to drop in on short notice when our usual sitter couldn’t arrive in time for a potty break before a long weekend. The pups loved her, she followed our weirdly specific instructions to a T, and she provided plenty of photos! Highly recommend.

Christine is the absolute BEST! We feel so extremely fortunate to have found her many years ago. She’s watched both our sweet late Cinnamon girl; and now our two morkies. They absolutely love her! Lots of attention and love and updates with pictures! We prefer home visits and we feel relieved and good knowing someone so reliable and responsible is there with them when we are away. Thank you so much for all the exceptional care and many pictures! Can’t recommend Christine highly enough!

I’ve trusted Mahmooda with my cat at my home multiple times when away and look forward to more in the future. She is great at communicating and sending lots of pictures and videos (more than any other sitter!). She’s also great at leaving the space as is. I wouldn’t trust anyone over her!

Amber was absolutely fantastic! She was very communicative throughout the entire stay and kept me updated with plenty of pictures, which gave me peace of mind knowing Louie was doing well. She followed all of my care instructions exactly as requested and made sure Louie was comfortable and well cared for. She went above & beyond while Louie was in her care. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about the pets she watches. I would highly recommend Amber to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and caring pet sitter, and I would gladly book with her again!

Aubrey is wonderful! She is extremely punctual, a great communicator, very sweet, and so great with my very anxious puppy. She’s very knowledgeable about quality care for pets and always leaves great post visit summaries which gives me great peace of mind while I’m away at work. Definitely book Aubrey!!! ❤️

It was our first time using the app and we have a kitten that we just got that is only about two months old, plus our nine year old dog who takes medication daily, so I was nervous! But Aivy was amazing! She took the BEST pictures of the animals too. Overall great experience.

Daniela is the best. I had an emergency and she was able to accommodate Mr. Bailey Dior. From the time of our initial visit, my son was treated with care as if he was her own. Playdates. He socialized very well. Thank you so much. Will be using her services again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
