“Amazing job!! They took day-care of my baby and stayed home with her all day. They took her on walks and played with her as a fun family. Bliss was so excited to go back every day and I loved the comfort of knowing she was in good hands while I had to be away from her during the day.”

About: Our family loves dogs. I can take care of dogs that are up to 25 lbs. We like giving lots of love and attention to our furry guests and enjoy playing in the backyard with them. Our 7 year old dog Chess is the sweetest host and has the best time when we have doggie friends over to play with and run around. I work from home so I’m always there to give them attention and lots of belly scratches. In the afternoons your dog will experience a full house with three older children who love to play and cuddle with our furry friends. Being a dog “mommy” myself I understand how important it is to make sure our puppies are well taken care off while we are out of town. Not only taking care of their basic needs, but making sure they get extra love while their humans are away. I like documenting your doggie stay with pictures and videos, and send them to you every day. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry baby soon! I work from home, so I am always available to give our doggie guests extra belly rubs and make them feel loved and cared for. I work from home so I have the flexibility to pay extra attention to our doggie guests. Our backyard is fenced. We never open the front door to avoid the dogs to accidentally getting out. To get in out out of the house we go thought laundry room, close the door, then open the door that goes to the garage. We take care of one dog at a time (or 2 from the same family). I always separate the dogs during feeding time.
“My worries were gone after I met Marisa and James. I could just tell they are good people. I felt safe leaving my dog at their home. I knew when she was holding my dog. Thank you”

“Ryan was the first Rover I used for my 4 month old Golden Retriever- Harper. I knew from the moment we met that he would be a wonderful, engaged caregiver and my initial impressions were spot on. He sent pictures and updates throughout the day and the fact that he has his own 2 year old dog was added reassurance that he was well qualified to look after Harper. I would highly recommend Ryan to anyone looking for someone you can trust unequivocally to take very good care of your pet.”

“Sohee & Shelby were the best! I left my dog with them for day care and even though it was for a very short period of time, they took care of my Lily with so much love! They sent us so many pictures of her playing, eating, sleeping and everything! I will definitely confidently leave Lily with them again in the future!”

“It was our dog’s first daycare experience, and we are beyond thankful for Angela’s great care. With a 5 pound dog, safety is top of mind for us and Angela was able to give us the peace of mind. We also really appreciated how kind and patient Angela was. We very much look forward to our next visit!”

“Philip and his wife took such great care of my fur baby! They sent me photos throughout the day which I loved. Highly recommend and defiantly will be using them to to dog sit again.”

I have a lot of free time now and just looking for something happy to fill my day. I am a dog parent, and I will do anything I can help. About: I provide reliable care for dogs with a focus on consistency, safety, and attention to their routine. Working from home allows me to give regular check-ins, potty breaks, and supervision throughout the day. I’m comfortable with dogs of different temperaments and energy levels and aim to follow their established routine as closely as possible to keep them settled and comfortable. My goal is to provide steady, responsible care so you can feel confident while you’re away. Since I work from home, I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to give pets consistent attention throughout the day. I’m able to step away from my work for walks, feedings, playtime, or check-ins without rushing, so pets don’t feel ignored or on a strict timer. On a daily basis, I naturally build in time for morning walks or drop-ins, mid-day check-ins, and evening care depending on the pet’s needs. I’m already used to maintaining routines, so I make sure feeding schedules, potty breaks, and medication (if needed) stay consistent. Weekly, I’m able to accommodate recurring care or longer stays because I’m home-based and not tied to a strict office schedule. This allows me to be present, responsive, and fully attentive to each pet I care for. I care for pets in my home by keeping a calm, clean, and comfortable environment where they can feel safe and relaxed. I follow their normal routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, and any special instructions like medications or dietary needs. Pets get plenty of attention, supervision, and affection throughout the day since I work from home and am able to be present with them. My goal is to make sure each pet feels at home, stays on routine, and is well cared for while you’re away.
“Mr Beethovan loved Mrs Maria. My Husband and I knew she was going to be our sitter the first day we meet her. She is very professional and highly recommended. The first visit was suppose to be only four hours but turned out to be six hours. After receiving pictures of Beethovan enjoying her so much we extended it another two hours on the first day. This is Beethovan first time being away from us and loved her unconditionally. He loved her so that I don’t think he was ready to come home. She sends pictures and text you in a timely manner with updates”

About: My wife and I have hands on experience caring for dogs at every stage of life. We grew up with family dogs and now care for two of our own fur babies, raising Oliver from the puppy stage and providing attentive senior care including administering medication for Ellie, a rescue. Beyond our own pets, we’ve also cared for dogs belonging to family and friends, which has given us experience with different breeds, temperaments, and routines. We understand how important it is to keep pets feeling safe, loved, and on schedule while their owners are away. What sets us apart is our patience, reliability, and attention to detail. We will treat every dog like our own with care, consistency, and lots of love, so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. We work from home full-time, allowing us to provide constant care, attention, and supervision. Weekends are relaxed at home, making pet care a natural part of our routine. While we don’t have our own yard, we live in a quiet, safe neighborhood that’s perfect for regular walks and outdoor time. At home, pets are supervised throughout the day since we work from home full-time. We follow each dog’s routine closely, feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions. We also have two friendly dogs, so we’re experienced with managing multiple pets and ensuring everyone feels comfortable and gets along. Our goal is to make pets feel secure, happy, and cared for just like they would with their own family.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your The Colony commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 3,130 sitters in The Colony, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
