“My dogs, my wife and I all love Kelli. This is the second time we hired her to do drop ins for my dogs, two 50lb (so called) “aggressive breeds” that a lot of boarding places limit or flat out refuse. Kelli is great with my pups, and I completely trust her in my home while we’re not there.”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I've cared for my own pets as well as those of friends, family, and neighbors. Whether it's a long walk, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to a specific routine, I enjoy making pets feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. I'm currently not working, so I have plenty of time to spare and an open schedule to help keep your pet company throughout the day. Safety is my top priority. I carefully follow owner instructions, use secure leashes and harnesses, monitor pets closely during walks and visits, and maintain a safe environment at all times. I also provide regular updates and am quick to communicate any concerns to pet owners.
“Sarah is amazing! She is professional, timely and cared for our cats as if they were her own. She got our older cat to take her pill and was through in inspecting our house for damages from the kitten. Sarah is considerate and asks questions during her meet and greet. Hands down one of the best pet sitters we have ever had.”
“We can't recommend Casandra enough—she is absolutely amazing! We trusted her with our babies, and she exceeded all expectations. She’s incredibly attentive to instructions, patient, and shows so much love to our cats. She truly cared for them as if they were her own.”

“Aivy did so awesome with my two pups. She was very intentional about asking questions to make sure she was taking good care of the dogs. The dogs loved her and had the best time with her!”

“Sydney is so amazing! She is super communicative and she sent me so many photos of my cats while I was gone! My cats are typically pretty shy around new people and never come out. They warmed up to her very quickly!! I will definitely rebook in the future.”

“Aubrey is wonderful! She is extremely punctual, a great communicator, very sweet, and so great with my very anxious puppy. She’s very knowledgeable about quality care for pets and always leaves great post visit summaries which gives me great peace of mind while I’m away at work. Definitely book Aubrey!!! ❤️”

“Destani was very responsive to messages and always made sure to respond very quickly. She did a great job watching our cat while we were away and made sure to send pictures and give updates with every visit. I was thankful to have her as a pet sitter, she even made sure to keep up with the scheduled visits despite a tropical storm happening! I will definitely book her in the future when needed.”

“She was awesome!!!! This was my first time using her services and she was so sweet. She sent pictures of my dog during the walk and I felt very comfortable. Thanks Laurinda! Will be using her again. ☺️”

“In searching for cat-care I stumbled upon rover.com. Reading the various reviews of caretakers, I selected ALPA to visit and care for our cat. Alpa responded, we had a "meet and greet" and I found her to be a caring, trustworthy and dependable person. During our vacation she sent updates and pictures to us giving me absolute peace of mind. I would definitely ask Alpa into our home again. She did an EXCELLENT job. Pat Jasper”

About: I am the designated dog sitter amongst my friends. I have taken care of my brother's dog for a month, a friend's dog for 2 months, and many times more with 8 years of dog sitting experiences. Since I do not have a dog of my own, I treat all the dogs I take care of as my own. This means they will be well fed, exercised, and bathed in joy :) I work a hybrid schedule so this creates flexibility on my end to watch you pet for the whole day when I work from home. I am an active person so I try to go for a 20 minute walk everyday and by providing pet care, this creates a win win situation for me and the pet! On weekends, I enjoy going for a run, if your pet is active, I can take the dog out for a jog too. I have a fenced yard and live in a pet friendly neighborhood with easy access to trail. Pets are allowed on the couch for comfort.
“Kathleen is amazing and I want to keep her as an official dog sitter forever!! She is flexible and will always ask questions and communicate as needed! You can tell she really enjoys our animals and they love her!”

About: I don’t just walk dogs — I read their body language, match their pace, and make every outing feel like their favorite adventure, and fun. I shape my day around the pets I care for. That means whether your pup needs a morning stroll, a midday break, or evening exercise, I make sure their needs come first in my schedule. When I dog sit, I treat your pup and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own pets and home.
“Olivia did a wonderful job watching my KitKat over the holidays. She provided multiple photos and a nice summary after each visit. I was so happy to see how quickly my shy cat took a liking to her and how she was able to bond with him. She also did a few unexpected extras (moved out trash to the curb, etc). I highly recommend Olivia and will use her again.”

About: Hi! I’m Savannah, a registered nurse with a flexible schedule and a huge love for animals. I know how important trust and communication are when leaving your pet with someone, and I treat every animal like they’re my own. My schedule allows me to care for pets in the afternoons and evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays, and the weekends, with a little notice, and I’m always happy to be flexible when possible. With my background in nursing, I take a careful and detail-oriented approach to pet care. I follow all instructions closely, keep environments clean and safe, and pay close attention to behavior and routines. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities.
About: I have had a heart for the four legged friends since I could walk. From a round of tug of war to running around the backyard to cuddling on the couch, it brings me joy to make animals feel loved. I am a teacher so I do have a teacher schedule throughout the week but I am home earlier most days (by 3:30 or 4:00). Your pet is free to lounge freely in the house while we are gone unless you have crate trained them and would like them put in their crates. We have a large house with no carpet and tile/wood throughout in case of any accidents. We do have a small dog (who can lounge with your furry friend and who is also crate trained) as well as a cat-who minds her own business most of the time. Our children LOVE dogs and are great at playing and helping your furry friend get lots of exercise. We have a fully fenced yard. Crates during the day or lounging around the house is completely up to you. We have a cat who minds her own business and doesn’t mind dogs. Our dog Sherlock is the friendliest most playful little terrier who just loves making friends with everyone!
“Taylor was absolutely amazing with our dogs and cat!! She stepped in last minute to take over a cancellation and was super on top of it! It was such a relief to have her watching them because she does well with high energy dogs like ours. So thankful!!”

“Jaimee gave so much love and attention to our cats Annie and Yeti!!! She is their first best friend outside of the household. It’s such a relief to have found her, because leaving our cats used to be heartbreaking for me. Now I feel pressure to travel more just so Annie and Yeti have more special time with Jaimee. Jaimee also acted as a friend to us, sending tons of photos and very detailed, lovely reports about her time with the cats”

Summer was absolutely wonderful! She went above and beyond caring for my two cats while I was away. One of my cats is still a young kitten and is terrified of just about everything, but Summer was incredibly patient, gentle, and understanding. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. It was clear that she genuinely cared about their well-being and treated them like they were her own. I came home to two happy, healthy cats and a clean, well-maintained space. I wouldn't hesitate to book Summer again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter!

Morgan took such great care of our cat while we were away for more than a week. She came by before our trip to meet us, spend time with our cat, and go over all of the care instructions. While we were gone, she was always on time, kept our home clean, and sent regular updates and pictures so we always knew our kitty was doing well. It was obvious she gave our cat lots of love and attention, and when we got home, our cat was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. The best part was that we never had to worry while we were away. It's not easy to find someone you can truly trust with your home and your pet, and Morgan is absolutely that person. We'll definitely be booking her again, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter. Your pets will be in great hands!
Maria went above and beyond when taking care of my cats! She followed all my feeding and litter box instructions to the letter, and gave extra special care and love to my kitties. I can't recommend Maria enough. She's reliable, communicative, genuinely caring, and treats your pets like her own. Booking her again for every future trip!

I’ve trusted Mahmooda with my cat at my home multiple times when away and look forward to more in the future. She is great at communicating and sending lots of pictures and videos (more than any other sitter!). She’s also great at leaving the space as is. I wouldn’t trust anyone over her!

It was our first time using the app and we have a kitten that we just got that is only about two months old, plus our nine year old dog who takes medication daily, so I was nervous! But Aivy was amazing! She took the BEST pictures of the animals too. Overall great experience.

Melanie is so amazing and sweet! She went above and beyond taking care of our dog and cat. As first time Rover users, we realized very quickly that we had nothing to stress about leaving our babies with her. We will definitely be booking with her again, thank you Melanie!!

Samantha is absolutely WONDERFUL. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to come home from our trips to a clean home and happy pups. Samantha is communicative, responsive, and sincerely makes you feel like taking care of your fur babies is her pleasure. Will definitely continue using her services!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in The Colony. On Rover:

- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
