“Such a great experience! They were so easy to communicate with and kept me updated, which I really appreciated. Most importantly, they took amazing care of my dog and treated them like their own. I felt completely at ease knowing my pup was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

“Here’s a polished Rover review: Emily was a great help with my girls. She arrived on time, was communicative, and even turned around to provide additional help when we needed it. My boyfriend’s plans changed unexpectedly, and she was incredibly flexible with her schedule. She spent quality time playing with the girls and kept us updated by sending videos throughout her visit. We really appreciated her reliability, kindness, and willingness to go above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend her and would book with her again!”

“I love having Jenifer as my sitter for my cat. I don’t trust easily when it comes to having someone take care of him, so if I never worry one bit with Jenifer taking care of him that says A LOT”

“Michelle is always so great with our extremely shy cat. She has respected her space and taken great care of her so now she's starting to come out for pets after a few visits. Thanks Michelle!”

“Sarah has made this process so easy and comfortable! My boy can be a bit of a handful on walks but Sarah had the best patience and care for him! She is very good with communication and sends the best photos!! Would definitely recommend Sarah being your go to sitter!!!”

“Lisa did an amazing job taking care of our cat. Our cat takes multiple pills every day and Lisa was so patient and loving with him to make sure he got every dose. She went above and beyond in caring for him and we looked forward to her updates and pictures after each visit. We would absolutely book her again!”

“Ashanti stepped in at the last minute to help with my pup, and she was so easy to with despite the fact that this was our first time booking together! She responded quickly, ensured all was taken care of, and provided great feedback on the visit. Definitely recommend and will be booking with again in the future!”

“Chaka is the best dog sitter. This is my first time ever using a service like this and she made things so easy with the process of getting to know my dog (K2) and me from start to finish. She's always going above and beyond and her care for my dog is level 1000% thank you Chaka!!!”

“Morgan took the most incredible care of my baby!! I came home to the happiest kitty, which is difficult because he has such high social needs! Morgan made sure he was snuggled and had plenty of playtime and kept me updated with pictures and messages! Thank you Morgan for loving on my baby! ❤️🐈⬛”

“Michelle is a godsend! Macy absolutely adores her and she does such a great job keeping me updated on both my baby and whether or not I've turned off the kitchen lights...”

“First time using Rover and this type of service. Amy was quick to respond, thorough in answering questions and setting up the logistics. My sweet girl was taken care of and happy! Highly recommend”

About: I have lived with and been around dogs pretty much my whole life. I love being around dogs they bring me so much joy and happiness! I have two kids who also love dogs so your dog will never be bored. Apart from having had my own dogs, my friends and family trust me to the fullest extent to watch and care for their animals. I am currently an online college student which allows me to make my own schedule and be very present and active with any clients dog. I live in a secure and very pet friendly high-rise in uptown. All doors are secured so security will never be an issue. We have a fenced in dog park along with a pet cleaning station.
“Dylan visited our elderly, Great Dane and they hit it off right away. Duke can be a bit high maintenance and Dylan gave him all the attention and love he enjoys. Thanks Dylan for sending pics of your visit and spending time with Duke.”

Sierra did a wonderful job watching our cat babies while we were on vacation. She was quick to respond and sent detailed updates while we were gone. She followed our instructions perfectly and even went above and beyond when one of cats had an accident. She sent great picture updates and made us feel so at ease about our cats being well cared for! We would definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone looking for someone to pet sit!

Delia was very attentive and instantly bonded with our furry crew. She provided timely updates and made sure to follow all rules to ensure a smooth week of drop-in sitting. Thank you for providing peace of mind while we were traveling! I look forward to booking your services in the future!

Keira has watched my cat, Suki, many times over the past several months and is easily the best sitter I have ever had. She goes above and beyond to make sure your pet is safe and comfortable and pays attention to the smallest details. On her most recent weekend with Suki, my apartment flooded with rain. Keira spent a hour moving half of my furniture so she could pull back my rug and dry every part of my apartment, and then put everything back where it was. Expect lots of pictures, detailed updates, and a happy pet with Keira. I cannot recommend her enough.

I met Alicia at a neighborhood garage sale a few months ago where I was thrilled to learn that she is an experienced pet sitter in our neighborhood. My neighbor was planning to cat & housesit for my family last week but had to cancel two days before our trip due to a family emergency. I had never used Rover before but felt at ease as soon as I (promptly) received a response from Alicia to confirm booking. She came in for a visit the next day to meet our 3 cats and receive instructions/key. Alicia was very thorough asking questions getting to know our cats and home, which was very appreciated. We booked 60-min drop-in visits for 7 days, receiving daily pics and videos of our pets getting some lovin’ in as well as a detailed summary of her visit . Upon one visit, Alicia discovered a hall-closet door open and sent me a text. She had photographed exterior doors (showing still locked) & main areas of our house (looking undisturbed) to help us ultimately determine it likely had not been fully shut when we left, allowing the cats to paw it open. It was great to have peace of mind knowing that our home and pets were in good hands. We’ll definitely book Alicia again!

We couldn't be happier with Janet! She provided exceptional care for our cat, going above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable and loved. The daily updates and photos were a huge plus. It gave us peace of mind knowing our cat was in such good hands. Truly a wonderful experience!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 8,845 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Dallas. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Dallas stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dallas. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
