“Hannah did so amazing with my boy! She went above and beyond to make me feel at ease leaving my dog for the weekend! She sent so many pictures and updates! Could not recommend her more!”

“I would like to highly recommend Mary! I have a very sweet and energetic, but also extremely introverted little dog. She was compassionate, kind, and caring, and really took the time to get to know him. She took excellent care of him, as well of my house, while I was away. She also kept me updated about how he was doing, which I really appreciated.”
“Janae and her son were absolutely amazing! They came last minute and made Jax feel more comfortable then he has with strangers. Jax really liked her son and that’s rare! I will 100% be booking again! 🩵🩵🩵”

“Cynthia was awesome! She sat for 5 days and kept me updated daily with photos and update messages. She left the house super clean! Definitely will be booking her again!”

“Marin was so amazing with our two girls. She was responsive and sent pictures daily. Our two golden-doodles are not old so no special care necessarily but they are very needy. When we got home the house looked perfect and most importantly our two girls were so happy. That tells me she did a good job because sometimes they will act a little mad at us for leaving them. We will def. ask her again if we need to leave Phoebe and Ellie. Thanks Marin you’re amazing!”

“Mikayla stayed in our home and took excellent care of our two dogs and our home. She also made sure our plants were watered, which was a huge bonus! Our little dog can be a bit difficult and has fear anxiety, but she warmed up to Mikayla immediately. We are grateful we connected with Mikayla to take care of our furry girls and our home. She is very caring, calm, and a wonderful human!”

“Jaclyn was great! Sent me pictures and updates without me even asking. She really put my minds at ease while out of town. Will definitely be using her again for any extended out of town trips.”

“Ashley did a great job watching our dog, Angel, while we were on vacation. She kept the house spic-n-span, did the dishes, stripped the bed, took out the trash, etc. She followed all the directions we left her and was responsive when contacted. We would definitely hire her again if needed.”
“Brie was amazing. She checked on Jax for us while we were out of town, and we could tell she genuinely enjoyed spending time with him. It made us feel so much better knowing he wasn’t just being checked on, but actually getting attention from someone who cared. She was reliable, easy to communicate with, and made the whole thing stress-free. We’d absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a great pet sitter. Thanks, Brie!”

“Alissa was so great with our puppy! We work night shift and she came over and spent time with him while we were at work and our dog absolutely loved her! Our cats also cuddled up to her too. She took him out, sent us pictures, and took him for a walk to get some of that puppy energy out. Would love to use her again in the future. Thanks Alissa! :)”

About: Hi! I’m Carrie, and I’ve been caring for animals my entire life. As a former veterinary assistant, I gained hands-on experience caring for pets and learned the importance of their health, safety, and well-being. I have experience with dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, rodents, and other small pets, and I’m happy to care for almost any animal. I’m experienced in administering medications, including pills, topical medications, and injections, and I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions. Whether your pet needs extra attention, a special routine, or simply lots of love, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I offer drop-in visits, walks, and overnight house sitting so your pets can stay relaxed in their own home. I treat every pet like family and care for them with the same love and attention I would give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry, feathered, or scaly family members! I am doing this as my source of income, so my schedule is open to check on your cat whenever it is needed. My schedule is flexible. I have four cats of my own. They are all indoor cats and they are well loved. I make sure to do the same to the cats I am watching.
“Victoria was great! This was our first time booking her through the Rover app and we are very glad that we did! She took great care of our babies while we were away, provided daily updates/pictures and made us feel very comfortable while we were on our trip. She kept the house in great condition and even washed her linens (without being asked) before she left. We will definitely rebook with her in the future and recommend her services. Thanks again, Victoria!”

“Liz was our first pet sitter and she did an amazing job! She was very friendly and my pets liked her right away. She sent videos and pictures of them while we were away and it was nice knowing my pets were in good hands!”

About: I’ve spent most of my life caring for dogs belonging to my family, friends, and neighbors. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of different breeds, sizes, personalities, and even multiple dogs at the same time. Every pet is different, and I enjoy getting to know what makes each one feel comfortable and happy. I know being away from their owners can be stressful for some pets, so I always take a calm, patient, and gentle approach to help them feel safe and loved. My goal is to make sure they’re comfortable, well cared for, and getting the attention they deserve while you’re away. I also believe pets need a healthy balance of playtime, exercise, and rest. Whether your pet loves long walks, playing with toys, or just relaxing and getting cuddles, I’ll make sure they have a fun, safe, and comfortable experience. I’ll care for your pet the same way I care for my own—with love, patience, and plenty of attention. As a recent college graduate who still works on campus, caring for my cat is already part of my daily routine. Every day I make sure she has fresh food and water, a clean litter box, playtime, and plenty of love and attention. I also spend time making sure she’s happy, comfortable, and getting the care she needs. Because pet care is already a regular part of my life, it’s easy for me to provide the same level of care, patience, and attention to other pets as if they were my own. It would be good to know if there is anything that scares your pets, certain sounds, movements, etc. It would also be nice to know of any commands/training tactics that I should be using while caring for your pet.

This is our second time using Jaclyn, and we truly cannot recommend her enough! We recently added a new puppy to our family, so she had her hands full caring for all three of our dogs, and she was absolutely outstanding. After having a traumatic experience leaving our pet at boarding, I have a lot of anxiety about leaving our dogs in someone else's care. From the very beginning, Jaclyn has completely put my mind at ease. She is incredibly attentive, loving, and treats our pups as if they were her own. One of the things I appreciate most is the constant communication. She sends so many photos and updates throughout her visits, which gives us so much peace of mind knowing our dogs are happy, safe, and receiving so much love and attention while we're away. Finding someone you can genuinely trust with your pets is priceless, and Jaclyn is exactly that person. We are beyond grateful for the incredible care she provides and will continue booking with her whenever we need a pet sitter. She is simply the best!

Avery was wonderful. This was our first time leaving our animals with a sitter and nerves were high (especially mine). But she has enormous patience and such a big heart. She paid attention to every detail and was very communicative from the very start, something which I greatly appreciated. I would definitely hire her again and am so thankful for her during our vacation.

Brie was amazing. Thanks, Brie!

Jo was such a great caretaker for Ripley. We needed a last minute dogsitter for our holiday weekend and Jo really came through. Ripley is disabled and high anxiety, but Jo really made her feel at home. Frequent photo updates, detailed potty and medication schedule. I would trust Jo with Ripley any time!

Kaegan watched our dogs over the weekend and did a great job. She was responsible, dependable, and took good care of them while we were away. It gave us peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. We would definitely recommend Kaegan and would be happy to use her again.

Amanda was absolutely wonderful with Gordon. She was incredibly communicative throughout the stay, sending frequent updates and pictures that gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She also handled an unexpected change in plans with grace and flexibility when my family arrived before I did, staying with Gordon until I got home and making sure everything was taken care of exactly as needed. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about the pets she watches and the people who trust her with them. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again, and Gordon and I are so grateful for her help!

Ashley did a great job watching our dog, Angel, while we were on vacation. She kept the house spic-n-span, did the dishes, stripped the bed, took out the trash, etc. She followed all the directions we left her and was responsive when contacted. We would definitely hire her again if needed.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Denton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Denton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Denton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
