“This was my first experience with an in-house dog sitter, and I was initially skeptical about having someone stay at my home for an extended period. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Kathleen's excellent service. She kept me updated on the status of my dogs, and they adored her. Additionally, she maintained the house in great condition. I will definitely hire her again when my husband and I go on a long trip. I highly recommend Kathleen for in-home dog sitting.”

“Kaitlyn was amazing! I’m so thankful we found her. Oliver found his new best friend that gave him lots of love & hugs, played with him, and took such good care of him. She kept me constantly updated that made me felt at ease while I was away from my baby.”

“Hannah was great with our two dogs, Harley and Prince! She was there when she said she’d be, did everything we asked, and even went above and beyond to trim one of our dog’s nails without her asking… thank you Hannah!”

“Francesca did great. Our dog was happy and healthy when we returned. She communicated promptly with us when we checked in and we wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to her again when needed.”
“Alexis was wonderful! She kept my pups on their schedule, sent me updates and pictures, and my pups really enjoyed her. It's such a relief to find someone I can rely on when I have to travel ?”

“There are not enough words to express how grateful we are for Rebekah. Before leaving for vacation, our dog Annie had a medical procedure on her ear. While we were out of the country, Annie’s condition worsened and she needed surgery. Rebekah handled the situation with professionalism, compassion, and genuine love for Annie. She worked closely with our veterinarian throughout the entire process, sending photos of Annie’s ear that helped us and the vet make important treatment decisions from thousands of miles away. She took Annie to her surgery, brought her safely home, and managed all of her post-operative care. Rebekah adapted Annie’s feeding area so she could comfortably eat while wearing her large protective cone. She kept us updated with frequent photos and videos, giving us tremendous peace of mind while we were overseas. She even created several instructional videos before we returned home so we would know exactly what had been working for Annie’s recovery, including how to manage the cone and care for her ear. Rebekah also took wonderful care of our home. She washed the linens, took out the trash, and even cleaned Annie’s potty area in the yard before we returned. We came home to a recovering dog who had been loved and cared for as if she were Rebekah’s own, and to a home that was spotless and welcoming. What could have been a nightmare while we were out of the country became manageable because of Rebekah’s dedication, communication, and kindness. We wholeheartedly recommend Rebekah to anyone looking for a pet and house sitter. She went far above and beyond anything we could have expected, and we will always be grateful for the extraordinary care she provided to Annie and our home.”

“Our third time having Tristen watch our pups while we’re away and not the last! She always takes great care of them, and leave our house just as we left it. Shes wonderful!”

“Paul was just fantastic. Sent updates and took wonderful care of our Dallas. No problems at all. Would highly recommend him to take care of ur fur baby. I will definitely use him again. Our Dallas enjoyed him a lot.”

About: Growing up with two dogs, westie and lab was where I grew to love animals. I’ve helped dog sit friends and take care of my own. I’m flexible at the moment and willing to help at any times of the day! Either on the weekends or week day. Prefer to walk dogs rather than house sit. Prefer to have animals for dog walking and have done before along with having to take care of my own! I love all animals and having dogs growing up showed me all what it takes to be a dog owner and look after them.

About: Hi! I’m Natalie, and I absolutely love dogs. I have experience caring for dogs through overnight stays, daily walks, feeding, playtime, and keeping owners updated with photos and messages while they’re away. I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe and happy, so I treat every dog like they’re my own. I’m reliable, responsible, and love spending quality time with animals, whether that’s going for walks, playing outside, or just keeping them company. I’d love the opportunity to care for your furry family member! I work full time at Fleet Feet, where I help with marketing and community events. My schedule varies, but I’m available before or after work depending on the day, overnight, and all day on my days off. I’ll always communicate my availability in advance and make sure your pet receives the love, attention, and care they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow your pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), and any special instructions. I’ll treat your home with respect, provide regular photo updates, and make sure your pet feels loved and comfortable while you’re away. My goal is for you to have complete peace of mind knowing your pet is in caring and reliable hands.
“Elizabeth was wonderful with Willie! She took great care of him, kept us updated, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. It was clear he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We’re so thankful for her help and are already looking forward to having her watch Willie again. Highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Copper Canyon
Heather stayed for 2 nights with our 8 month old 100 lb each Newfoundlands. She shared when she arrived, when she left, photos while we were gone. I feel very comfortable with Heather as she treated our paw kids as her own and gave them lots of attention. She also picked up poop from the yard and placed the bed sheets in the washer. Thanks Heather.
Jamie and Barry took care of our dog Poppy for 12 days as well as managed our gardens and flower pots. They did an amazing job. We were sent daily updates on Poppy with fantastic photos which allowed us to relax about her care while we enjoyed our vacation. 5 star A+ service from this duo team. I would highly recommend them. Thank you Jamie and Barry!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Copper Canyon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Copper Canyon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Copper Canyon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
