“Hannah took great care of my two! The house was just the way I left it! I was able to focus my attention on my work trip instead of worrying about my dogs at home while under Hannah’s care. Thank you!!”

“Karen was such a blessing to meet and work with. She helped us out tremendously in caring for our young kittens for two almost back to back pre-planned vacations. Leaving them alone so young and so new to our household was really stressful, yet Karen made it very stress free. Karen stayed in constant communication and sent picture updates to share how our kitties were doing. She took care of our house while we were away and was so considerate to even ask us if we needed any groceries before we returned. She left us the cutest framed pictures of our babies on the countertop when we returned, which was an adorable surprise. We are so grateful to her and would highly recommend her for anyone looking for someone to care for their pets and/or home while they are away. We will be reaching out to her again!”

About: Hi! I’m Natalie, and I absolutely love dogs. I have experience caring for dogs through overnight stays, daily walks, feeding, playtime, and keeping owners updated with photos and messages while they’re away. I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe and happy, so I treat every dog like they’re my own. I’m reliable, responsible, and love spending quality time with animals, whether that’s going for walks, playing outside, or just keeping them company. I’d love the opportunity to care for your furry family member! I work full time at Fleet Feet, where I help with marketing and community events. My schedule varies, but I’m available before or after work depending on the day, overnight, and all day on my days off. I’ll always communicate my availability in advance and make sure your pet receives the love, attention, and care they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow your pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), and any special instructions. I’ll treat your home with respect, provide regular photo updates, and make sure your pet feels loved and comfortable while you’re away. My goal is for you to have complete peace of mind knowing your pet is in caring and reliable hands.
About: I am a huge animal lover and love to tend to pets needs. I am currently a dog and cat owner but I have cared for many different kinds of animals, from dogs and cats to birds and horses. I love hiking and other outdoor activities. I have worked at a dog daycare for many 7 years and understand dogs behavior well. I am currently flexible with my work schedule and can be home/drop in almost whenever is needed for your pets. I do have my own transportation and will be able to take your pet wherever he/she needs. I run my own business and am very flexible when needing to provide for pets. Having animals of my own, I always make sure they are not alone for long then an hour or two. I have cared for all types of animals of all ages. In my home, I want them to be as comfortable and happy as they can being away from you. Whatever their special needs are, I can accommodate.
“Kaitlyn was amazing! I’m so thankful we found her. Oliver found his new best friend that gave him lots of love & hugs, played with him, and took such good care of him. She kept me constantly updated that made me felt at ease while I was away from my baby.”

“Kathleen is a gem!! She stayed at our home for 10 nights with our 2 dogs. She sent pictures each morning and asked questions when she had any. Our home was in tip top shape when we returned and all instructions were followed perfectly. And most importantly our doggies were super happy and relaxed. I think they miss her ❤️ We’ll happily use her again!”

“We had 100% trust in Ren and she did not disappoint. She took great care of Phoebe - the pictures she shared show just how comfortable she was and put us at ease while we were in Mexico getting married. We would easily recommend Ren and use her again without question.”

“Alexis was wonderful, caring, and patient with our energetic pup! We came home to a happy dog, and the house was cleaner than when we left. Highly recommend and will definitely book again!”

“There are not enough words to express how grateful we are for Rebekah. Before leaving for vacation, our dog Annie had a medical procedure on her ear. While we were out of the country, Annie’s condition worsened and she needed surgery. Rebekah handled the situation with professionalism, compassion, and genuine love for Annie. She worked closely with our veterinarian throughout the entire process, sending photos of Annie’s ear that helped us and the vet make important treatment decisions from thousands of miles away. She took Annie to her surgery, brought her safely home, and managed all of her post-operative care. Rebekah adapted Annie’s feeding area so she could comfortably eat while wearing her large protective cone. She kept us updated with frequent photos and videos, giving us tremendous peace of mind while we were overseas. She even created several instructional videos before we returned home so we would know exactly what had been working for Annie’s recovery, including how to manage the cone and care for her ear. Rebekah also took wonderful care of our home. She washed the linens, took out the trash, and even cleaned Annie’s potty area in the yard before we returned. We came home to a recovering dog who had been loved and cared for as if she were Rebekah’s own, and to a home that was spotless and welcoming. What could have been a nightmare while we were out of the country became manageable because of Rebekah’s dedication, communication, and kindness. We wholeheartedly recommend Rebekah to anyone looking for a pet and house sitter. She went far above and beyond anything we could have expected, and we will always be grateful for the extraordinary care she provided to Annie and our home.”

“I felt very comfortable with Gregory staying with Benji, he communicated with me daily and gave me updates on Benji. I loved that Benji felt safe with him that made very happy. Very grateful and thankful!”

“Francesca did great. Our dog was happy and healthy when we returned. She communicated promptly with us when we checked in and we wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to her again when needed.”
About: I’ve never not had pets in my life! I’ve cared for a wide variety of pets, young and old, traditional pets and more exotic ones. I don’t mind caring for any type of pet— if it’s your baby, it’ll be mine too for a bit! Currently I have completely open availability! Some weekends I do theatre productions but those weekends are few and far between. I’m also a night owl and am open to care for your pets at all odd hours of the day or night. Routine is key for your pets. As a sitter, it is my responsibility to ensure your babies still follow their routine as if you were still at home. I have experience with more complex routines or routines that involve medication as well!

About: I have been in love with animals since I was little. I grew up on a farm with horses, cows, a sheep, dogs and cats. I've had 9 rescue dogs throughout my life, as well as 8 niece and nephew pups and countless friends' dogs I've cared for and loved. I have also volunteered at shelters and wildlife rescues, and I've even camel sat! I have experience working with and caring for different breeds, sizes, energy levels, and temperaments and have partnered with trainers to help dogs with work through anxiety, over-stimulation, and reactivity issues. I have also cared for special needs dogs and senior dogs who need meds, diapers, traction devices, slings, and extra attention. Once I get to know a pup, I am very attuned to their behavior/mood/signs and am able to help them feel cared for and safe. I'm currently working part time, so my availability is very wide open. I'm free for walks and play time during the day or overnight stays with your pup in your home if you have a work trip or vacation. Is your dog an escape artist? I've had one of those, so I can bring a heavy wooden gate to block off doors or other areas of the house as needed. Other than that, I will treat your pet with the same care and attention I give my own dogs, and considering that my friends have said they would like to be reincarnated as one of my dogs....
“Elizabeth went above and beyond while watching our two Goldens from 6 days! Sophie had a “hot spot” on her cheek that wouldn’t heal. Twice a day, Elizabeth cleaned Sophie’s face with Hibiclens. She gave oral antibiotics. Half way through the week, the Vet added an topical antibiotic. She went to our vet and picked up new medication. Then on her last night, Sophie decided to vomit several times! She had difficulty contacting me, but she persisted! With her and our vet’s help, Sophie stopped vomiting. All this at 11:30 on a Saturday night. All the while, she loved and gave attention to our other Golden, Bailey! She was calm and loving to our pets the entire time. When we returned home our house was the same as we left it! Highly recommend, Elizabeth!!!”

Annie was fantastic taking care of my 2 kitties and had my shy girl on the couch with her on the first night! I highly recommend her and will definitely be booking again for our next trip! She handled medications and food perfectly, for once I really did not have to worry while I was gone. Lots of updates and pictures as well!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Double Oak walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Double Oak maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Double Oak choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
